the biden camp blasted trump for taking a broadside at joe biden. but there was joe yesterday taking on the republican party across the water's edge. he was talking about trump's phony populism. he said the republican party is diminished fractured. the trump wing of the party is the bulk of the party but it makes up a significant minority of the american people even though that stat is not true. where all those mainstream media reporters who criticized donald trump for doing exactly what joe biden did yesterday? ainsley: they ignored it. steve: they did. ainsley: he was lying about the statistics. the republican party to your point is fractured. it is diminished in numbers. if you look at the gallup poll the latest one. steve: it's up 5 points. ainsley: increased since president biden took office in may 29%. but just back in january 25% of american voters republican. brian: republicans on a bit of a role on the doorstep of taking back the house that's conceivable to get back the

so, first of all, let's start at the beginning, for the people who are watching who have been vaccinated with either moderna or pfizer or j and j. they do offer protection for this delta variant, right? >> correct. if you are vaccinated with both doses. that's the key. you have to have both doses. then you are going to have a good protection against this delta variant. one dose is not enough. for example with the pfizer vaccine 33% protection against delta virus after one shot but you get the second shot, that shoots back up to about 88 to the 90% protection. that's the demake sure you are fully vaccinated. steve: see, that's an important point, because, if you have only had one shot, you know, we had heard with the a version the alpha version that, you know, if you only get one shot, you got like 70%, 80% protection. delta variant you are down in the 30's. so you need a second shot. dr. nesheiwat, that is exactly

that my child is going to receive and the second thing is safety. is my child going to be safe and right now, in the city of portland, specifically the downtown corridor, where we've seen a lot of the riots and calls for social justice happen, it's a university of portland state university, and the notion that sending your kids to school without an armed police force at this point is crazy making, at best. steve: yeah, no kidding so do you think part of what's going on downtown, with the defund police in downtown portland has spilled over to this college and now, given what happened to this man by the name of jason washington, back in 2018, now, its just gotten to the point where the campus people are saying you know, we can't do anything. let's just takeaway the guns of all of the cops, which really, there's a real good possibility and you knew this , gabrielle, is this would not have happened, had the police been properly trained.

>> well exactly right, and this is really, you know, a training issue and it's unfortunate that people have to die before we decide and see that hey, one of the things that we need to do is invest in training. we've put the police on our streets with the minimum amount of training, and think that they are going to do the right thing all the time. you know, i've spent a lot of time overseas as a contractor, 10-plus years and one of the things we were trained in was deescalation and the use of lethal force, and we had to go through this training every two years so every two years we had a refresher and i think that if we spend sometime and actually invest rather than defund our police departments, then we're going to see a different result but by simply defunding, taking training away, and taking weapon s away, we think that there's going to be this magical mix that is going to make this stuff stop and it's not going to. we have to invest in our public safety. steve: right. we did reach out to portland

was taking them and arresting them and of course to be let loose later to go wherever they wanted to go in the united states but i've been there. it's easy to get to. it's easy to find. it's on the rio grande. it's easy to find, and we went to el paso and del rio, but there's just no action down there by the administration. it's a crying shape. what we've done here is we've stopped the children from coming to the foster care system to overburden that and it seems to me everybody is having to respond and doing a good job to try to fill these gaps while the administration is doing nothing and the vice president is the one that's in charge of by president biden in charge of it. she hadn't been there. you really can't get a good feel for it, you know how bad it is, you know how bad it's getting, but until you go and look at it, it really, that's when you really realize that we've got a desperate situation on our hands , and i'm just to see that the vice president is spending

time here where we don't need help instead of going to the border where she's in charge and we need help, desperately. ainsley: i want to talk to you about this case, we've been talking about it here on fox, jillian had it in the headlines and we interviewed a friend of the family yesterday. all the talk in south carolina everyone is shocked it's a prominent family, three generations of prosecutors, and the pew fort area, and here is the picture of the family. the son, paul, was found shot dead on his family's property, and the wife, maggie, was, the mom was found shot dead as well. what's the new information here? >> to my knowledge, there is no new information other than our state law enforcement division and the sheriff are working around the clock to get information following all leads. it is a tragic tragic situation the murdaugh family is well- known and respected and this is just tragic starting

with the boat accident and the beach family and now the murdaugh family is just tragedy after tragedy and we hope to get to the bottom of it and find those responsible for these two slayings but there's no information that i have that i can give you. ainsley: okay, paul was 19 years old when he was driving his family's boat and had an accident, and as a result, a young lady a 19-year-old lady, you referenced them, she was thrown out of the boat and she was found dead later and then now we have this tragedy and the patriarch of the family was found, he died of health complications three days after he lost his grandson, and his daughter-in-law. it's just so sad. everyone pray for that family in south carolina, and i wonder if there are two suspects because the mother was shot with an assault rifle and then paul, the son was shot with a shot gun >> that is the correct information and it is tragic,

it's one tragedy after another, but we're going to have tragedy stemming from this border as well, if the administration doesn't do something about it. we're trying to put the pieces, find out what happened in this tragedy with these slayings , but we can't fix that, but we can fix the border, and we have got to get to that. greg abbott the boris johnson nor of texas is having to take all sorts of steps to try to do what the federal government should be doing and were doing until the biden administration came in and stopped the trump adminitration's wall from being built, but the vice president needs to go and look at this and talk to the people, talk to the troops, talk to the border patrol and get a feel for how desperate this situation is. we don't have anymore time left for this to be done. ainsley: that's right. she said she's going to go. we just don't have a date on the books yet. governor mcmaster from the great state of south carolina thank you so much, go gamecocks right behind you. >> thank you.
