free copy at your hr department tomorrow morning if you want. the military? you can't imagine the u.s. military would assign a book like that, recommended it to every sailor in the u.s. navy. while yes, actually. on tuesday, jim banks of indiana demanded an explanation for this from the chief of naval operations. here's how it went. >> kennedy's book states that capitalism is essentially racist, and it's clear that racism must be eliminated. yes or no? do you personally consider advocating for the destruction of american capitalism to be extremist? >> here's what i know, raises some in the unit -- >> you recommended every sailor in the united states navy read this book. >> i'm not forcing anyone to read this book, it's on a recommended reading list. >> did you read the book? what part of this book is redeeming and qualifies as

something that every sailor -- >> he's critical about his own journey as an african-american in this country. what he's experienced -- >> let me ask you again. do you expect after sailors read this book that says the united states navy is racist that we will increase or decrease morale, cohesion and recruiting rights in the united states navy? >> i think will be a better navy from having open, honest, conversations about racism. >> tucker: open and honest conversations about racism? that would be nice, but it's an amusing line coming from someone to have read kennedy's book, as he says he has appeared open and honest conversations are racist, kennedy said that many times. let's say open and honestly, care more about the way people behave that in the way. you took martin luther king at his word and judge them by their

content of their character and not the color of the skin. if you do that, you are racist. the claim of not racist neutrality is a mask for racism. the language for color blindness is a mask to hide racism. a color-blind constitution for a white supremacist america. no, open honest conversations are not allowed. you admit you are a racist, or else you are super-duper racist. sounds pretty deranged, honestly. in fact, it sounds like an extremist ideology, just like the military's always warning us about. the pentagon is investigating national guardsmen who posted unfashionable opinions on facebook about the last election or may have voted for donald trump. with all their investigators running around looking into these crimes, how closely have they looked into kennedy? have they checked his social media history?

[laughs] any context for that. the admiral -- the mediocrity -- will not offend the man he has just been promoting to the entire u.s. navy. that's odd, once you dig a little, you can see why he doesn't want to talk much about it.

not long ago, kennedy was invited to speak at the aspen ideas festival, a room where ideas go to die. one person dared to ask the most basic question i have all, how do you define racism? you think you would be ready for that question, but he wasn't. here's what he said. because you talked about the important of defining racism, but unless i missed it -- which is possible, i didn't hear your personal definition, is there one that you would offer us, like how do you define racism? >> racism, i would define it as a collection of racist policies that lead to racial inequity, that are substantiated with racist ideas. out against the open political indoctrination he saw there. he's the author of the book -- he joins us tonight. thank you so much for coming on. so, nasa you would think would be the one branch agency that would be immune from the equity mission. that you served in the u.s. government for a long time, were you under the impression that nasa had a problem with discrimination in years past? >> i don't know, took it to things first off for having me on your show. as always, i don't speak for the defense department, but i speak for myself. i don't think that any of our institutions at this point are immune from this idea that we are going to be pursuing equity. clearly, these are hot topics. did the talking point of the day -- in fact, i do want to define it for the american people.

i know the definition of equity. it's important for the american people to understand the difference between equity and equality. one of them is good, and the ideal appeared to be there good. we tend to confuse the equality of opportunity, and ideal, part of philosophies with equity. it's a new term, its use wittingly, which essentially means and forced out columns or enforced any quality. based out of what i've seen in the department of defense is permeating institutions across the country, and essentially potentially illegally discriminatory policy. equity is not good as it is defined, but it sounds good, that's why we use the word. nasa has historically been -- i think -- a symbol of inclusion and equal opportunity.

nasa is the kind of organization that people can look at, and understands that regardless of your background, you are able to show up here just like in the defense department, and rise up based on your marriage, and have an opportunity to make a name for yourself, to rise to leadership, and to do important things for the country. because there's a unifying mission that these institutions believe in, whether it's space exploration in the case of nasa or defending our country and our allies from serious thoughts that i have in the world. people in uniform, for example, rally around that mission, and have historically not been caught up in the kind of identity politicking that you're talking bout that i am hearing in your monologue. i will make one point to say that i think are senior leaders and our national leaders need to think very carefully about whether or not they want to inject tribalism into our long

trusted institutions in this country that typically have not been affected with tribal thinking, with all of that entails. do we really want to walk the road that will cause us to abandon martin luther king jr.'s dream of having a colorless society where, in fact, we are starting once again to judge people by the color of their skin. impugning guilt to other groups of people based on their group identity, not because of anything they've ever done necessarily themselves, but based on who they are accidentally, even. that's a good definition of racism. we don't impugning guilt to people based on the color of their skin. >> tucker: and we never showed. i always imagined the military is the shining beacon of what the rest of the country should be because it was a color-blind meritocracy. lieutenant colonel -- >> the military is great at that. that's why so many people are

upset about what they are hearing. >> tucker: and they have every reason to be. i know you are. thank you for coming on tonight. there's been a more onerous eno- there are number people in the crowd at the capitol in january 6 who had been in previous contact with the fbi about what was going to happen that day. if that happened, and we believe it did happen, it would not be out of character for the fbi. it they've done things very much like that before. that is beyond dispute. in this case, they are disputing it, not the fbi directly, they haven't said a word. the obedient minions of the national security state who run the social media accounts of "the new york times" and occupy the anchor desk at cnn. they became hysterical blooming mentioned it. you can't say that, they screamed, that's not allowed! the geniuses at 200 informed us

that agents of the fbi were just fbi informants, so shut up. hilarious. we won't shut up, and we shouldn't. i could not be more obvious at this point that the government is in fact hiding something, probably quite a few things. best to abandon theatrics and find out what they are hiding, that's our job. too many and corporate media who claim were spreading russian disinformation, instead calmly answer these three questions. first, how many of these so-called insurrectionist on january 6 had a relationship with the fbi? how many of the fbi molds encouraged others to break the law at the capital? we haven't heard anyone answer these questions or even address them, none of the protesters were secretly working with the fbi, then we were wrong and we will apologize for it sincerely. if the answer is not none, and we're pretty sure it wasn't,

people will claim otherwise are liars and tax and should leave the public stage immediately because they've betrayed their readers and viewers. two, if the justice department knew they were going to be protesters amassing at the capitol that day, and it's clear they didn't know, why didn't they do anything to stop the right? why didn't police allow protesters to walk in as video show they did? that doesn't make sense. why is no one asking that question. third and finally, why can't we see the tape for ourselves? the government is hiding more than 14,000 hours of video surveillance tape which shows exactly what happened that day. why are they hiding that? why aren't news organizations demanding to see it? you would think nbc news or vox, or "the new york times," or any of them are in fact working to protect the regime at the expense of the public.

joe biden with everything they're doing at the white house is to say he's not tough enough on russia? >> well, in 2016, trump ran on the idea of america first and ran in the idea of not being involved in foreign conflicts. you know, he was very strongly against nato, he said it was obsolete. if people haven't noticed, the country nato was designed to counter hasn't existed for 30 years. so republicans found this beneficial to adopt a lot of this rhetoric. unfortunately on policy and we have seen this time and time again, it is still basically the bush cheney party. we've expanded nato in the last few years. macedonia and montenegro, these countries have militaries that are about the size of a midsized u.s. city's police force and nobody even pretends to argue that this is -- anyway defends american interests. now you understand why democrats sort of like nato. it's become somewhat of a social engineering project.
