it explains a lot. jillian: it would explain a lot. todd: hopefully are not aliens, just loyal "fox and friends first" viewers. jillian: we start with a fox news alert. a virginia firefighter is shot while on the job. fire officials say emergency crews were dispatched for a report of wires down, the firefighter is said to be in stable condition. another man was shot. police took the suspected shooter into custody. 's motives are unclear. todd: not just police. another fox news alert, police in north carolina searching for the person responsible for shooting three kids, killing one of them. the shooter opens fire from inside a white car and drove away, detectives working two crime scenes and officials say the child who died was a 9-year-old girl. two boys, 7 and 10-year-old in the hospital.

jillian: a massive fire in a complex under construction spreads to several homes in utah overnight. >> that has to have gone from the house -- jillian: at this hour officials say two are missing, a firefighter is being treated at a hospital, the ogden city fire department is asking people to avoid that area. meantime a fox news alert, we are learning the names of the 11 people confirmed dead in the florida condo collapsed. todd: charles watson's crews search for any sign of survivors. >> reporter: miami-dade officials released three new names of victims killed in that partial collapse. those victims are identified as 52-year-old marcus joseph guerrera, 55-year-old frank kleiman and 50-year-old michael david altman.

that brings the death toll to 11, more than 150 people still missing as search and rescue efforts extend into a sixth day. officials say a team of engineers are expected to arrive late this afternoon to thoroughly inspect the sister tower to the northeast. we are told engineers will determine if those buildings have any structural issues that would put them at risk of collapse. >> at that point we might make a determination whether or not there is an issue. in the meantime residents were given the option to relocate. >> reporter: according to a report from the miami herald the contractor told the paper he was working two days before the partial collapse, and underneath

confusion from president biden over the past few days about where he stands on the infrastructure package, some republicans, negotiating in good faith with the president and members of his administration the president after issuing a lengthy statement saturday put out an op-ed yesterday, this is the president's stance on infrastructure, this deal is the largest long-term investment in our infrastructure in nearly a century. there is plenty of work ahead to finish this job. there will be disagreements to resolve and more compromise to be forced but this is a deal the american people can be proud of. looking at this package, we are talking $49 billion in public transit, $109 billion in roads, bridges, other major transportation projects. the power grid infrastructure $73 billion, up $41 billion for airports, other ports and waterways. last thursday the president announced he struck a deal with republicans. then he indicated he wanted a separate list of items not included in the infrastructure

package through a process called reconciliation that shut democrats out of the mix. the president put out a statement saturday saying he's backing off that demand, the president may have backed off but bernie sanders wants reconciliation to go forward. a way to push other priorities through, not included in the original package. sanders came out with a statement let me be clear, there will not be bipartisan infrastructure deal with our reconciliation bill that substantially improves the lives of working families and combat the accidental threat of climate change. the reconciliation bill, new deal with a transformative change now. >> the assurances we heard over the weekend would seem convoluted at best aren't really assuring me. i'm anxious to have conversations with my democrat colleagues, a group of ten democrat senators. >> reporter: house speaker nancy pelosi has gone along with

it happened, and you have hundreds if not thousands of rescue crews from around the world descending on surfside? >> we live on the street and this is overwhelming. there is an overwhelming sadness, things are not the same. everyone is in a gloom of sadness from everything going on. it was so close to home. todd: the entire nation has been watching this from a. how tough is it to ultimately grasp the devastation that you are seeing, the people down there are seeing and so many families are experiencing right now? >> reporter: the images you are seeing is -- when i got there i got up at 2:00 in the morning and took off over there and walked into what had happened less than an hour before. it was devastating. as i walked into the building

through the side, i saw the firefighters helping some elderly ladies coming down from the balconies. i took video footage of that and i still have not seen the devastation we are all seeing now because from the outside of the building on the street side, when you walk down the core door between both buildings you go to beachside and turning left and looking up, it was just mammoth. you've got a building and you literally cut it in half. with all these apartments sticking out, it was incredible. jillian: the conversation in the last few days seems to be surrounding the pool area, there's that 2018 engineering report citing significant flaws.

there are a lot of questions that need to be answered but with all that in mind, as the one who resides not far from here what is the conversation like among neighbors and peers, family, coworkers, people nervous now that if they live in other buildings, how do people feel? what is the mood of people who reside in that area? >> it is somber. many of us walk through the back of that building all the time. we have beach walks that go across from one side to the other. we see it. in the building where i am living everyone is questioning how old is the building? is a 40 years old? there are so many buildings in miami beach that are older than 40 years old but a lot of people are concerned about the 40-year certification. the mood is very somber but at

jillian: we have a look at downtown seattle as record-breaking heat waves at the northwest. the temperature reaching 106 degrees. a heat advisory in effect through tonight. todd: historic seat causing many restaurants to shut down and cooling centers to pop up. janice dean with the fox weather forecast. an area like seattle to get those numbers. >> janice: this has never

happened in recorded history. canada has the highest temperature recorded ever in british columbia. high pressure across the northwest and the threat because we have drought conditions. we are going to still see potential for heat across interior sections but along the coast we will see a little bit of relief. all time highs in seattle and portland, 116 degrees, that is the temperature you see across the desert southwest. portland into the 90s and 80s, seattle will get 81 wednesday, very warm for them. their coverage highest in the 70s, heat advisories in effect for the northeast to the northern plains, parts of california as well. the other big story is the potential for heavy rainfall along a frontal boundary bringing a lot of flooding from texas to the great lakes.

you for being here. first questions you, president biden says employers need to pay more to entice them to come back. what is your reaction to that statement? change i feel like as a small business owner coming out of the pandemic and trying to survive in the midst of this pandemic it is going to be a struggle to do that as a small business. todd: how helpful will it be to your ability to hire now that texas is no longer going to be getting that extra $300 per employee added to their unemployment benefits? >> it is going to be a great change. one of the frustrations, people wanted to stay home and get unemployment. i hope it inspires people to realize the workforce is needed here. we moved into this weird stage, business owners hostage to say

we don't want to come back, we know the workforce is small and therefore we deserve inflated price when it comes to their work great and i think one of the real challenges for small business owners. todd: it is unreal to me that these individuals wouldn't want to develop some good political capital to help you guys out so when times are tough you remember that and keep them on but i digress. you say you are losing foot traffic from the border because so many people from mexico come today trips to mcallen, spend a little money and go home. explain how much that is hurting your business. >> living in a border town as we do, mexican nationals are a huge boost to our economy whether you are retail, restaurant, we feel it has affected commerce in the valley. todd: from shutting down the border to paying employees not to work, as you try to bounce back from the pandemic, that

obviously hurt all smooth - small business owners for a year. are you looking at the government saying how much more can you give me before i collapse? >> i feel like the challenges of the pandemic and where the government -- has made things more difficult. we opened in the pandemic and expanded in a pandemic and we are in the process of getting ourselves ready to franchise nationwide and it is frustrating because one of the greatest concerns we have is the workforce isn't going to be there for the inflated rate they are expecting will make budgeting and expanding a challenge. todd: opponents of big government say will make your life easier, two instances where it is not. thank you for sharing your story and best of luck. i imagine with the hot temperatures people are going to want ice. i could use some right now.

jillian: family and friends in surfside, florida holding out hope they lost loved ones we found alive, 150 are still unaccounted for. todd: the latest on the search effort, madeleine. >> reporter: unfortunately for a lot of the family members it is another day of waiting the crews have been transparent about their operation. a lot of family members prepared for news that is bad.

>> we are learning their loved ones will come out as body parts. this is the kind of information that is excruciating for everyone. >> reporter: last time someone was pulled from the rubble alive was thursday the crews maintain this is still a rescue mission, cameras to check the pile of debris and see if there pockets where people can still be alive. we are learning more about 52-year-old most of -- marcus joseph and his two daughter still unaccounted for. 50-year-old michael david altman, father of two sons and 55-year-old frank gleeman, just got married 3 weeks before the building collapsed. his wife and her son, among those identified on sunday. 150 still missing, two miami-dade students. a memorial wall is growing

outside, filled with mementos, items the rescue workers pulled from the rubble possibly belonging to some of the victims. here is what michael ruiz who lives in the area has to say. >> there is an overwhelming sadness. everyone is in sadness about what is going on. so close to home. >> reporter: last night a vigil was held for the victims. 100 people showed up to show support. todd: a snorkeler recounted a brush with death when he got up close and personal with the great white shark in northern california. >> a mosquito bite and then wrapped my legs around and felt i was face-to-face. todd: mosquito bite? he was snorkeling and looking for crabs when the sharks

surprised him, then he noticed how much he was bleeding from that bite, he is expected to make a full recovery. jillian: a border patrol agent save the migrant child from drowning, the agency releasing this video showing the boy struggling to cross the pond in the rio grande valley in texas. the border patrol agent retrieved the young boy. both were taken to the hospital to be checked out. todd: stepping up patrols following sunday's brazen attack on a young marine. jillian: the white house blames republicans for the increased crime wave. >> reporter: the nypd released new surveillance video the suspect who shot at 21-year-old marine. police are looking for this man in connection to the shooting, he took off running after opening fire outside the marriott hotel in times square.

we have new video of when the victim was taken away after the shooting, he was shot in the back but is expected to be okay. the shooting happening just days after alexandria ocasio cortez who represents a portion of new york city dismissed concerns over the uptick in violent crime as, quote, hysteria and the democrat party as a whole is facing criticism for leading a year-long movement to defund police departments across the country forcing the white house to play damage control by trying to pin that on republicans. >> republicans defunded the police by not supporting the american rescue plan. how is that an argument to be made when the president never mentioned wanting to police to stop a crime wave. >> the president did mention the american rescue plan that help ensure local cops didn't receive a single republican vote. >> reporter: the left tries to flip the narrative the oakland,

the news knows the democrat mantra for a couple years now to reimagine policing, defund the police and many democrat runs these, we understand most of the funding for law enforcement comes from local communities, not the federal government. they cut funding for police, rolled back police forces and in consequence you see massive violence all across these cities, people are dying, kids are dying, the democrat white house is trying to blame this on republicans. here's what is going on. democrats understand the politics of failure and they are doing polling, independents and soft democrats don't want defund of the police, they want police in their communities so they are trying to re-message this and blame it on republicans. jillian: you heard jen psaki a few minutes ago say not one single republican signed on to this. when you look at republicans

voting against the $1.9 trillion rescue plan, that wasn't just for police, that was for 1 million other things too. >> it was $1.9 trillion, a massive bill and jen psaki was saying a proportion of $350 billion could have, not was required to but could have been used for law enforcement purposes and republicans voted against it and are in favor of defunding the police. this is contortion trying to blame a no vote on the rescue plan on republicans. reason democrats -- it was massive spending, increasing debt, lead to more insulation and as peter doocy pointed out in his question this was never sold as a law enforcement bill. more money from the federal government to law enforcement local communities want to defund

of frustration with wisconsin because we had a rescue plan that favored farm bail outs, those minorities who are farmers as opposed to white farmers. a lot of white farmers in wisconsin, frustrating but a lot of wisconsin lost their jobs working as union members on the keystone pipeline and the wisconsin economy. i've been around the state. we have tons of small business owners, they can't hire enough people and people that can hire, paying huge wages, hard to make a profit. a lot of frustration. last point, president biden going to wisconsin were congressman, one of the most endangered democrats in the country has a scandal brewing where one of his properties, a massage parlor if you know what i mean, biden is going to be trying to boost him and have a hard time doing that. jillian: good to see you, thanks for joining us.

brought either federal trade commission and attorney general, the judge said the complaint failed to show that facebook was a monopoly. investors were happy with the decision the stock surging 4% but josh halley tweeted this is deeply disappointing from a court which acknowledged massive market power but shrugged his shoulders, bad results for the american people. different tech companies, different cases at least for facebook as of now, a win for facebook but apple and google and others are in the midst of this. todd: it will be interesting to see how the bipartisan coalition led by josh halley will respond to this and how it affects the other cases. it will be the story of our times. california banning state travel to florida and a bunch of other states.
