4:01 pm
an out-of-touch democratic president ignoring the exploding migrant crisis, opening the door for a man like donald trump to come gliding down his golden escalator to save the world remember, trump won that election a lot due to his stance on illegal immigration. he promised to be tough when our president was weak and today with the migrant crisis reaching a fevered pitch once again, the 45th president stepped back into the spotlight and did it again. >> all biden had to do was go to the beach. if he would hav have just done nothing, we would have now the strongest border we have ever had. this wall would have been completed within two months everything could have been completed, it would have been painted, not sitting there rotting and rusting. it would have been perfecto. >> jesse: standing in front of his once beautiful wall now crumbling under the clueless biden administration, president trump pulled out the same playbook and judging by what he said in 2016, he is just getting
4:02 pm
started. >> when mexico sends its people, they are not sending their best. the wall just got 10 feet taller, believe me. [applause] just got 10 feet taller. did you ever see the wall they have? they take pog go stick and go over the wall. build a ramp and load it with drugs and come over the same ramp. not going to be any ramp with my wall, folks. >> jesse: i know you are thinking that was enough to be crooked, that will take a lot more to vest our fearless border czar kamala harris who just visited a spot hundreds of miles away from the epicenter of the crisis to pretend like she is actually doing something. >> after taking a leadership role on root causes, the actual root causes, invest in the root causes, the overall issue, which is root causes on the root causes, you can't just react to
4:03 pm
a problem without solving at its root. >> jesse: we get it it's gotten so bad even the mainstream media is starting to cover it. nbc reported that this fiscal year 41 pounds of fentanyl were seized at the southern border. that's a 355% increase from last year. the d.e.a. says roughly 2 pounds is enough to kill a half a million people. so you guys can do the math. and as we told you last night, cbs reported that dozens of migrant children had to be placed on suicide watch after being locked in biden's cages. agents had to physically strip pens, pencils and nail clippers away from the kids just so they wouldn't hurt themselves. but joe is much too busy today to address this. he was off fighting america's real number one threat. >> climate change driving dangerous confluence of extreme heat and prolonged drought. we need a coordinated comprehensive response with all of federal -- all the federal
4:04 pm
government working in close cooperation. >> jesse: joining me now trump 2020 campaign senior adviser and fox news contributor lara trump. all right, lara, i think it's wicked what these politicians are doing. they are doing nothing. ignoring the child trafficking, ignoring the drugs. ignoring all the wages and the crime that are coming across. the former president down there today, do you think that this is going to reawaken the american people to the issue at stake? >> well, it certainly can't hurt, i mean, thank goodness somebody has to-has taken charge of this, and it is the former president of the united states not the current president, joe biden, not his border czar vice president kamala harris who has as you just pointed out 800 miles away in the wrong part of texas, a part that really doesn't have the huge problem you see in the rio grande valley. i wonder, jesse, if that's because she didn't want to actually showcase the major problem. but the democrats are really
4:05 pm
doing themselves a disservice and they're giving a big place for the republicans to step in as you saw today under the leadership of my father-in-law, to come in and actually talk about the problem. you just named some of the issues. what about the fact that now we are seeing all of these kids making this dangerous journey in the heat, we know a third of the women that make this journey, jesse, are sexually assaulted. it is so dangerous nobody should ever do this. but why are they coming? they are coming because joe biden and kamala harris both ran on a platform of open borders. now that they are in charge, the borders are open, and they have no plans of closing them. it is a big opportunity for republicans. they are seething on it and it makes the democrats look, quite frankly, really dumb. >> jesse: they are seething on it because they're letting them do it. they are talking about climate change, i don't think anybody out there in the southern hemisphere is really coming because it's hot. it's always been hot. right now the media, i don't know how they are going to play
4:06 pm
this trip. i still think it's in play last time jim acosta went down there. he was confused that the wall actually stopped illegal immigration. buff the media is mostly illiterate when it comes to border issues. do you think by your father being there that that is actually going to kind of, i don't know, make them think about what is happening or do you think they are just going to spin it to make it an anti trump story? >> well, they are desperate to make everything anti-trump. we know that but, i think the american people are really smart. there's a reason you just played all those clips of my father-in-law, whenever he was campaigning in 2016, people were so happy. there was somebody actually out there talking about things in real terms and not in political jargon. donald trump said it like it was. he called people out for things, and, look, the american people can very clearly see there is a major crisis on our southern border. i'm sure that the folks in the mainstream media are going to do what they always do. they are going to try to cover this up.
4:07 pm
but it is going to come for them, too. it will impact every single american. we cannot have a country if we do not have secure borders. so whether it's at your schools and your education system, we'll soon suffer. your hospitals, we know that the jobs and wages are going to go down because of this. it is going to impact every single american so at some point i sure hope the folks in the mainstream media wake up. i think americans have been awake to this problem for a long time. and kudos to my father-in-law for actually, again, taking charge, going down to where the real problem is, kamala, down in the rio grande valley and calling attention to a major, major issue. >> jesse: it will be hard to ignore because he posted up right behind the half finished border wall. it just stops right in the middle of the street and it's going to be hard to obscure by the media. all right, lara, thank you so much for joining prime. we always love having you. >> thank you. >> jesse: also here tonight republican senator from louisiana john kennedy, member of the senate judiciary
4:08 pm
committee. all right, senator kennedy, i'm seeing word here that the democrats are trying to defund the border patrol, they are trying to slash a billion out of the budget there. i mean, haven't they learned already what happens when you defund the police? >> well, jesse, i would make two points. first, with good reason, president biden's border policy, i think, is about as popular as a sinkhole. and that's because the american people aren't stupid. they may not read aristotle every day because they don't have time but they understand that one or two things are going on. number one, either president biden mislead the american people when he ran, and he truly does obelieve in open borders. are, number two, the people that he has put in charge of border security are not qualified to
4:09 pm
run on a hot dog stand. they shouldn't be allowed to think for themselves. it's too dangerous. now, i don't know which of those scenarios is true, but, either way, the result is the same. every day thousands of people come into the united states unfettered and we don't have the lightest idea who they are. number two: the president's border policy in my judgment is further evidence of the fact that the biden administration, i think, has a blind spot for the lives and the concerns of ordinary americans. most ordinary americans support immigration. but they also support border security. unlike the biden people, most ordinary americans do not believe that vetting people at the border is racist. most ordinary americans think that it's prudent. most ordinary americans see the
4:10 pm
border in my judgment sort of like it's america's front door. most americans lock their own front door at night. why do they do that? they don't do that because they hate everybody on the outside. they lock their front door at night because they love the people on the inside. they don't want to keep everybody at all times out of their home. they just want to know who is coming into their home. in any event, that, in my opinion, is why we do have a crisis at the southern border. it's a raging tire fire and it's not going to get any better as long as president biden keeps doing what he has been doing. >> jesse: i think it's even more sadistic and political than you even describe. i believe they are breaking the border on purpose because that is what they want. they want the open border. they want to turn texas blue.
4:11 pm
they want to overwhelm the system in order-to-achieve more political power. but i think you touched on a really important point that they do have a blind spot for regular americans. they are totally out of touch with the towns and cities that are along the border and even further back. they don't understand the pressure it puts on the budget. they don't understand the crime that comes in. they don't understand the children that are affected in schools, the wages that are reduced, the jobs that are lost. they don't understand any of it and, to be honest with you, i honestly don't think they care, senator. and that is a very, very depressing thing to say about the president of the united states. and i don't even think you can say that about the last democrat president. i think it's much worse joe biden than it was under barack obama. i will give you the last 30 seconds. >> well, you have to judge people by what they do, not what
4:12 pm
they say if you judge president biden by that standard i think he clearly believes in open borders. it's hard for me to believe that the people he has put in charge are incompetent as the other scenario would indicate. i don't think the american people support open borders. i think they support legal immigration but border security. >> jesse: the american people are going to make their voices heard in the midterm elections. i can guarantee you that senator kennedy, thank you so much for coming on prime. >> thank you, jesse. >> jesse: there's a bombshell new report tonight confirming what we have been saying all week. vice president kamala harris' floundering and everybody at the white house knows it. now members of her own staff are reportedly jumping ship and they have got a lot to say about the quote, root causes.
