people i've ever met, as well as their families. as well as dr. rodriguez and everyone that worked to help save and improve the quality of life for many people that work at nyu langone medical center. i'm l laura: this is a special edition of the ingraham angle. as we celebrate america's independence we have to remember the biggest threat to our traditions and institutions are increasingly coming from within. critical race theory poisoning the highest levels of government, corporate board rooms, universities and even our kids tools. we are going to hear from parents who are fighting back including a black father who went viral for calling out crt
12:01 am
for the evil ideology it is. we will hear from the journalists who exposed the critical race theory movement and the former princeton and vanderbilt professor doctor carol swain but first the racism gold rush, that is the focus of tonight's first angle. because public schools have become cesspool far left political thought many parents don't align or can't afford private or parochial schools rightly feel their children are trapped, plus many of those private schools are just as bad anyway if not worse. i can't tell you how many parents i have run into who complain about this dynamic. former attorney general william barr delivered one of the most important speeches in recent memory on the dire state of public education in america. >> the state of our public schools is becoming an absurdity scarcely to be believed.
12:02 am
an astonishing number of public schools failed to produce students proficient in basic reading and math they spare no effort or expense in their drive to instill a radical secular belief system that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago. laura: the obvious question why should we send our tax dollars to schools that end up teaching our kids to hate the country? by choosing an aggressive secular humanist focus laced with critical race. teachers and administrators have created their own taxpayer-funded radicalism. they think you should answer, they don't think they should answer to anyone outside their sphere on issues like curriculum or anything related to life at school. they once complete and total control no questions asked while

parents, we saw this during covid where teachers summarily dismissed parents concerns about remote learning. >> if you're going to call me out i'm going to [bleep] you up. >> they want their babysitters back. >> with a backdrop of covid and the death of george floyd the school dictators feel they got the wind at their backs, many are eager to embrace critical race. throughout their curricula across every subject and every aspect of schooling and this cost big bucks funneled to anti-american race -- courtesy of judicial watch we learned schools in montgomery county, maryland paid nearly half $1 million on something called an antiracism audit and they gave it to a group called the mid-atlantic equity consortium which, get this, is funded by

your tax dollars via the department of education. of the $19 million the group has raised since 2001, $17 million is from taxpayer backed cash, what a scale. the past four years these haven't received a simple private donation so in montgomery county doctor mcnight, the acting superintendent claimed the antiracist audit would, quote, examine the district's system, practices and policies that do not create access opportunities, and equitable outcomes for every one's social and emotional well-being, policies and practices and tax status. let me translate this for you. they are preparing as our many schools across america to bring

racial propaganda into school subjects, every syllabus and academic award given out, higher scores of rabid anti-american ideologues destroying what is left of objective merit for students and faculty alike so if you are white you are to factor oh guilty. if you are not white, you're given special status and consideration. they promise diversity, equity, and inclusion but it is plain old racism. they i consultants and lecturers hired for the reprogramming, meet loyola psychologist sherry atwater recently hired in california to lecture faculty on antiracism. >> one of my favorite things to do in my local multicultural counseling class, raise your hand if you are racist. and they are all telling the

truth but also by the end of this lecture and discussion you will understand you are telling the truth and you are also lying at the same time because we have implicit biases, you can't tell me you are not racist. laura: her cliché ridden idiocy is a product of decades of educational decay, she's repeating what she heard in another seminar. very deep thinking, not quite but it is dangerous and things are just as toxic in our state universities funded by taxpayers. last month the pennsylvania state system of higher education board of governors meeting showcased a pathetic array of race groveling both humans. >> when we teach philosophy we teach philosophers, a lot of people, not just individuals. >> i want to stress i've spoken to students about this and the

absence of a diverse curriculum is the absence of affirming their humanity for campuses that are underway with implementing the nodule for students with many of our campuses are including in their freshman orientation, it would be required. >> you've got to get those kids early from the moment they step foot on campus just in case there high school wasn't woke enough to set them straight about how racist america is. the republican majority in the pennsylvania legislature should shut this down. not a single taxpayer dollar should go toward promotion of corrosive and racist philosophy not in care-12 and higher education. >> confronting this issue i think is the most urgent task for people concerned about religious liberty.
12:08 am
religious liberty is not safe in the united states as long as we have a kind of public school system we have, and indoctrination of children into these radical secular progress of orthodoxies. laura: he went on to say the solution is to give parents universal school choice where their tax dollars travel with them and they get to choose where to send their kids to school. things are dire on college campuses, but there are rays of hope. the board of trustees at unc chapel hill struck a note for common sense by revoking a tenure offered to hannah nicole jones, creator of the widely discredited 6019 project. in response to that the race mongers claim the college boards of trustees are themselves racist. it is all they have. naturally the biden

the person you saw kicking the victim and the head was 14. manhattan institute senior fellow contributed editor and city journal even though portland is as far left as any major city can get why should every american be concerned about the indoctrination going on in the schools there? >> portland area schools adopted a new philosophy originally a marxist theory is that came from brazil, students are told they need to achieve critical consciousness about their own oppression and education system needs to be reoriented towards achieving liberation and revolution and you see it in every facet of schooling and what is most important and damning is not only were many children arrested during those riots about many portland public

school teachers were arrested and some of these teachers despite being arrested for violent riots are still employed by the district, doubled and tripled down revolutionary rhetoric and that is what they are pushing to the youngest people in our society. laura: a hotdog near the capital on january 6th you might be in solitary confinement, you're immediately suspect. there is a program in portland to help improve literacy for students in kindergarten through fifth grade and i want to show video you obtained of one of the coaches teaching these students. >> you may have heard some things in the news about people protesting injustice in our country. you train for this moment all year, to fight for justice. now is the time to show you will fight for justice.
12:13 am
laura: what does this have to do with improving literacy? >> it doesn't but what you've seen his bureaucracy has been totally submerged in this ideology. this teacher is speaking to elementary school students, they need to be justice fighters, and get out into the streets and fight along with the protesters in portland and the same teacher according to witnesses who observed this also engaged in essentially george orwell's 2-minute hate program, they allowed minority teachers to parade white teachers for 90 seconds in a kind of display of public apology for your whiteness, these things are happening within the institutions. i have the documents, the videos. if it is not in your school district now they are pushing to put it everywhere in the coming years.
12:14 am
laura: this was shown to third-grade students just outside portland. >> one of the most freeing things white people can do or non-poc people, any human being on the planet to do right now is say of course i am racist. what it does is it says this is not a personal or moral failing, it's not because i'm a bad person or some evil terrible being, it is because that is the structure of this society i have been immersed in. >> 8 and 9-year-olds are told racist country, they are racist, really quick. >> i spoke with a woman from iran who said she grew up in tehran chanting death to america before school and what is happening, the indoctrination of her child in the schools reminder of what was happening
