those community. democrats have lied about covid and the border. there is no reason that most americans should trust them to administer elections fairly. there is a long history of political corruption in this country. chicago was ground zero for this. back in 1982 the illinois gubernatorial race pitted a republican governor thompson against the democrat. thompson won the race by 5,000 votes. that prompted one of the largest vote fraud investigations ever conducted by the doj. it resulted in 62 indictments and 58 convictions. 100,000 fraudulent votes were found in chicago. in one case a punch had tabulated 198 times. you have a right to vote.

but you don't have the right to stuff the ballot box or bribe people to vote. the gop bills that have the left so riled up with all of this concern, they seek to end things like mail-in ballots and improve the role of poll watchers and prevent illegals from voting. how does this trip votes away from black americans? the answer is it doesn't. the same deal with the voter laws in georgia and florida. but biden sent out his untalented vice-president to do her best refer end al. >> these laws make it harder for you to vote because they don't want you to vote. your vote is your power.

7:08 pm
about the democrats saying in power no bad how the country gets under their leadership. they don't want to go to the people to defend their record on immigration or rising gas prices, schools or crime. they prefer to create a system where they can stuff the ballot box to guarantee victory. they will get cover from the media lapdogs and all of those donations to carry out the harvesting efforts. by naming their voting rights bill the for the people act, democrats insult the intelligence of american people. it's just another oxymoron scam and that's the "angle." joining me now is a congressman. all that republicans are trying to do is increase transparency
7:09 pm
and make voter fraud harder to commit especially with all of these illegal immigrants coming into the united states this year. what is going on with all of these reactions we saw yesterday and today? >> well, it's quite simple. the democrat agenda sucks. if you have nothing to run on. if you can't run on the economy or rising wages or energy independent country or on secure borders, you have to foment outrage about voting. you have to get people in the black community to vote. the voting laws in arizona, georgia and florida give more access to the ballot. i have been voting in florida for the last 20 years. 10 years before i got into politics. nobody stopped me from voting. i never had any issue from voting. it was never a problem.
7:10 pm
if we examine the truth about voting in the united states, it is not a problem for black people to vote. the democrats's ideas suck so they revert to nastiness about voting. >> laura: when you hear al sharpton and others talking about taking to the streets -- that's our constitutional right -- but when you claim that the republicans are doing is akin to apartheid in south africa and you can't vote if these laws stand, if this act is not allowed to pass, things could get hot quickly, could they not? we have seen this in other racially charged protest? >> you're absolutely right. that's why they are saying is disgusting.
7:11 pm
add the vice-president of the united states to that as well. this is getting people upset for no reason at all. i would challenge any citizen of the united states including black america read the arizona and georgia and florida election bill when i voted on. those bills give you ample opportunity to vote. they do not strip away the ability for black people or hispanic people to vote. it stops third party groups that want to ballot harvest. it stops the outside groups that sharpton loves that gin up the vote. stops them from being out to spend million dollars from billionaires in our elections. >> laura: they don't just want to go to old folks home and roundup the votes and take them

7:16 pm
right. the second thing is that our voting machines won't be connected to the internet so they can't be hacked. democrats support that. everybody wants that. the two issues they bring up are 24 hours voting and drive in voting. it's never been in the election vote in texas. we have 254 countries and harris where houston is they created their own law. that's not how it works in law. we are not rolling back anything. we still have 2 weeks of early voting and added hours. there is nothing in this bill that suppresses votes at all. >> laura: they are trying to set it up so if republicans take the house next year they will call it illegitimate. you set the record straight for us. we appreciate it. what the cdc just announced about schools this fall is
