>> sean: a prison of the bay of pigs invasion. let not your heart be troubled. laura you have a great show. >> laura: was that sarah carter? >> sean: it was. >> laura: she is fabulous. >> sean: she is fluent in spanish. >> laura: awesome person. those people appreciate freedom and understand the cost of liberty. this should be recognized by every american. >> sean: many people told me to tell you hello. i was so inspired by the people.
7:01 pm
it was incredible. what a great experience and how hard they are fighting for a cause, their family and friends and neighbors. >> laura: americans take note. thank you. i am laura ingraham and this is "the ingraham angle" from new york city tonight. we begin with a fox news alert. this is a scene in washington, d.c. just a few hours ago. 20 to 30 shots were fired on a popular street filled with well heeled washingtonians at a popular outdoor restaurants. two males were shot with nonlife threatening injuries. this comes less than a week after gun shots rang out outside of national park. the 101 homicides in her city should have been a wake up call but maybe it will take the feathers of the elite getting
7:02 pm
rumsfeld for the mayor to realize she has a real problem on her hands. we will monitor this story and bring you details as we get them. we begin with biden's very small town hall. that's the focus of tonight's "angle." cnn's town hall with biden was a pathetic exercise of fawning and futility. during the 9 minute event, we saw a sitting president embarrass himself with a combination of lies and ignorance. we saw a television host nod along as the sad spectacle unfolded. >> the question is whether or not we should number a position where you, hmmm -- or why can't the, the experts say we know
7:03 pm
this virus is in fact, hmmm -- it's going to be -- excuse me. we know why all of the drugs approved are not temporary but permanently. i expect that to occur quickly. >> you mean for the fda? >> the fda. >> laura: at a time of national security challenges facing the united states don lemon could have done a huge public service by asking tough, fair questions. instead most of the time he came off like an assisted living aide. there is no nice way to put this: joe biden is losing it. rarely capable of starting and finishing a complete thought without wandering off on a tangent like when he was asked about how the administration can promote vaccines in the african-american communities.
7:04 pm
>> we have taken mobile vans and people to the communities and it's beginning to have some impact. we have to talk about it more. for example, i get in trouble because my wife is a philadelphia fan and eagles fan. i hosted the tampa bay buccaneers. there was a quarterback there. what is his name? >> laura: and the media stand in awe. >> if the presidency was a decathlon this is his event. >> his best traits were on display. >> that's why he beat donald trump last year. >> biden comes across in a way that is difficult to demonize. >> laura: difficult to figure out. contrast those reactions with how they poured over trump's every syllable. >> the starting point is trump

the man and his psychological state. many people i speak with, experts being he is evidencing dementia. >> he keeps obsessing over taking a test given to alzheimer's patients. it's a bizarre thing. >> even the president's own supporters may be unnerved. any effort to reassure people that the commander-in-chief is mentally stable? >> laura: but now. we are supposed to think that biden verbal crutches he leans on every time he loses his train of thought are really cute. >> i am not being a wise guy. i should not make fun. that's good. it's good. by the way that is happening. look, think about this. >> [applauding]. >> i am a big dog person, i am
7:06 pm
sorry. i sincerely mean this. i am not joking. democracy has to stand up -- no, no, no, i really mean it. i am not joking. >> laura: i wish you were joking. it's just sad at this point for biden for the country and cnn. is it common journalistist practice to ignore when he fails to answer the question.c practice to ignore when he fails to answer the question. >> what do you say about a new round of mask mandates. >> when i got elected when pandemic we lost more people in the united states than ever major war we ever thought. that came to a screeching halt
7:07 pm
for those who have been vaccinated. not a joke. >> laura: real questions with real follow-up? that's asking too much. you don't want to pressure biden. and drum roll, please. for my favorite spooning moment of the night. >> one of the things we are doing is what i have done -- my team has done. >> mr. president, i don't know if you heard you got applause correcting the i for we. >> it is we. >> that's a commendable attribute. >> laura: what else is commendable is telling the truth when president biden struggled with. on the minor issue of how current inflationary trends
7:08 pm
threaten the recovery. >> to pump in all of this money into the economy cannot that add to? >> it relates to what is needed because we are growing. i don't know anybody including larry summers who is a friend of mine who is worried about inflation. >> laura: this larry summers? >> i was on the worried side about inflation. moved much faster and sooner than i had predicted. i think that has to make us nervous going forward. >> laura: it's worse than i thought. on the issue of vaccines. poor old joe was a contagion of contradictions. >> we have a pandemic for those who have not gotten the
7:09 pm
vaccination. you won't get covid you have vaccinations. >> three of the democratic lawmakers tested positive for covid despies being filth. -- fully vaccinated. >> within the span of a few minutes. biden amended his earlier claim that vaccinated people will never get infected. >> if you are vaccinated you won't be hospitalized and you won't die. >> laura: there is a very, very small chance but that would undermine his pitch. biden claimed unlike trump he has the world eating out of his hands. >> those of you who travel

abroad, not a joke. not a joke. when i went to the g-7, all of the major democracies, i know a lot of them because of my role in the past. i said america is back. i am series, heads of state, they said are you really back? >> laura: reality. joe said america is back. with the stumbler in charge, america is on her back. russia, china, germany, they are laughing at us. they went from being on their toes and held accountable to rolling over the u.s. china hacked public and private internet count. as the "wall street journal" noted the powers announced no sanctions. a coalition against chinese
7:11 pm
cyber attacks is nice but not in the result is nothing. that is merrick garland lead -- american leader ship under biden and biden gave a multi-million dollars gift to vladimir putin. every country is fighting for its own national interest except ours. biden's team is inviting u.n. monitors in toberate us on racism. when joe biden can't think of his own accomplishments, you have to hand it to him. he is good at playing his greatest hits. >> i have a lot of experience internationally. not good or bad, i just have.
7:12 pm
chaired the foreign relations committee and did national security for the administration with barack obama. >> laura: that one thing he got right. like the old codger at the elk's lodge biden slips back into the past but has trouble responding to the presence. the media covering up for him. unwilling to hold him to the same brutal standards they held trump to. cnn lost their credibility. last night despite all of the production and fanfare, biden and lemon lost their time slot and lost it to this show by over half a million viewers even though we air 2 hours later. that's the "angle." joining me now is arkansas senator tom cotton.
7:13 pm
the honeymoon is over and old joe doesn't know how to balance these issues without remembering or just lying about them. that's what happened last night. >> first i would congratulate on beating the cnn presidential town hall but you don't view that program as a worthy adversary. those clips you just played are not a man who has ping quaking in his boots standing up for american security. joe biden looks deeply confused. if we doesn't think 6 trillion dollars will add to more inflation and driving up the prices from groceries to gas. also if he thinks the rest of the world thinks america is back, he is more confused. joe biden is putting a kick me sign on uncle sam's back to
7:14 pm
everyone around the world. >> laura: biden had another response to the soaring inflation that everyone needs to hear tonight. >> putting all of this money into the economy couldn't that add -- >> no, moodies said if we pass the other who things we will reduce inflation. >> laura: he says that 3 times. is that true especially given what romney and company are planing to do to give this big bipartisan sheen to biden on the infrastructure fill? >> no. joe biden is deeply confused. thinks 6 trillion dollars in spending won't ignite more inflation. they are giving out $300 weakly
7:15 pm
bonuses to keep people from going to work. we have all of that money chasing after goods that are hard to find because we are paying people not to work. yes, we will have inflation and more if those bills pass. >> laura: senator, what is happening with this so-called infrastructure, bipartisan agreement, i think it's really shocking. nancy pelosi said she is not going to push forward on the infrastructure until the senate agrees to the framework for the 3.5-trillion dollars spending. why should the republicans march up to capitol hill give them a huge win on this bill when we have massive spending that will be crammed through leading to all of these other economic problems and a massive change to
7:16 pm
the way we live our lives? why would republicans give them that? >> what nancy pelosi said was worse than you portrayed it. you said the budget framework. nancy pelosi is saying the house would not pass an infrastructure bill until the implementing spending bill is passed. 3.5-trillion dollars of spending. nancy pelosi did not do any of the senators working on this it any favors when she said she will hold hostage any bill until they pass a bill that include other things. like amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants if that bill as well. that's soft infrastructure that is far left liberal priorities. >> laura: the republicans are getting played every minute. thank you, senator. there was another moment from
7:17 pm
last night's debate that was telling. has to do with something we just talked about. >> portman is a good man. a congressman from this area. i mean that. he and i are working on to getting this infrastructure bill passed. >> senator portman from ohio? >> look, you had 20 republicans sign a letter saying we need this deal. we think we need this deal. >> laura: the republicans insist that joe biden and chuck schumer are allies for infrastructure has given biden the opportunity to use in bipartisan gloss right before the road to reconciliation.
7:18 pm
that will change our country forever. did that lead phillip kline to write the following? i love this piece. phillip joins me now. why do you think this is happening with this particular group? portman is retiring. others have had missteps like this. explain to our viewers what is really going on. >> it's perplexing. i think it's almost trying to be too clever. they convinced themselves if they get into bipartisan negotiation it would kill the bigger bill or convince the
7:19 pm
moderate senators to oppose the bigger bill or strengthen their opposition's filibuster. from is no evidence at all. if anything this is making it more likely that the democrats get the whole 4 trillion dollars. manchin can say they worked for this great bipartisan bill and democrats have a smaller lift in their overall bill. if they tried to pass a 4 trillion dollars bill to begin with, maybe it would have been a lot hard tore get moderates. i think they are greasing the wheels for that. it makes no sense. normally in a negotiation when there is compromise, both sides give up something. in this case, republicans are going through this whole charade
7:20 pm
after a negotiation and in the end democrats are just going to pass whatever they want anyway. what are democrats giving up? >> laura: republicans have zero leverage. what will they go to the voters with next year? i worked with them on the infrastructure and they rolled this on the 3.5-trillion dollars to make these new entitlements? they look like complete morons. >> to that point, i didn't just pull the word idiots out of nowhere. if you recall a few weeks ago, they had that big announcement in front of the white house and biden said i am a man of my word. i will stand by what we mean. a few hours later he said well, i won't sign these bills unless they both come to my desk. the bipartisan bill is in tandem. lindsey graham said you have to be kidding me? i will never support this. it makes us look like idiots
7:21 pm
want biden releases a clarification like i am sorry i said the quiet part out loud. and lindsey graham is suddenly back on board. and mitt romney is saying we can trust joe biden. this guy went on national tv during an election and said that mitt romney was going to put black americans in chains. this is the guy mitt romney is suddenly saying he is a man of his word? >> laura: it's embarrassing. they have no ability they have no leverage. everyone american should see what is going on. phillip your piece was great. raymond arroyo took his tats to a sidewalk outside of a new york city gallery poised to sell hunter biden's art and a teacher
