>> a shooting in downtown dc leaves two people hurt. >> reporter: police are still looking for these two men accused of being behind a shooting near a popular restaurant in dc, two men were shot but are expected to be all right. this follow several shootings in dc recently including a drive-by shooting the left a 6-year-old girl deadline with a shooting outside the national ballpark. in chicago eight people were put in the hospital following a drive-by shooting involving a party bus where the shooter is on the run. several of the shootings happened in the city, one left the 15-year-old that after being shot in the head. most of the victims are in serious or critical condition from the party bus but others are in fair condition. >> if you pick up again, if you shoot indiscriminately into a crowd normally but we find you but we will take you to federal court and ship you to south dakota and you will never see your family again. >> two weeks ago.

steve brown blames kim fox for the crime same is too little consequences and the courts but fox says brown needs to stop pointing the finger. so far this year there have been 410 homicides in chicago and a little more than 1800 shootings. that number is up 9% compared to 2020. all of this while the biden administration is responding to crime with a crackdown on guns and sending merrick garland to meet with local law enforcement leaders. >> a set of tactics aimed at a particular kind of problem, trafficking of illegal guns into the cities. >> in st. louis and accused killer is still in the streets after the charges were dropped because the prosecutor didn't show up. >> did you not know that the attorney was on maternity leave? do you know where your employees are? you need to be in charge of your

especially when you have black and latino communities that by and large history tells us do not vote republican not taking the vaccine and they themselves dying in record numbers as well. >> it is not fair to be perfectly honest to paint such a picture and put everyone who according to nbc is dying in one corner in one party. there are people on all sides of the aisle who for medical reasons can't get a vaccine like that. that doesn't mean they are just republican, there are people on both sides who still want to do more research to figure out if it is going to be the right decision for them and that is okay. a lot of people in the republican party have been saying have these conversations with your doctors, choose wisely, use your freedom and make this decision that is going to be best for you and your family but i know it is not a 1-size-fits-all issue here. >> there are democrats and republicans who got the vaccine, democrats and republicans who

is happening is they tried to update their computers but not updating fast enough. the processes and happening fast enough and here's the crux of the lawsuits, connecticut has shut down the state's firearm purchase system making it virtually impossible for most law-abiding citizens of the state to purchase a firearm. i know connecticut is an older state, we have older computers, the infrastructure is pretty old but now the connecticut knows about the problem doing everything it can to work around it. >> i heard about this issue, we sent a letter to the state commissioner to ask what was happening to make sure you can mitigate these issues. that was a week ago, we have yet to hear back from them in connecticut. when states upgrade, and always use the default of going back to the fbi background check system which is the system most other states use.

they threatened these people, and what is happening in middle america, the final destination and then work with the cartels. the ranchers know that the cartels on the border will retaliate. jillian: how will they do that? have you seen any retaliation? >> we had some vandalism, building set on fire, this trends of changed. >> have you seen this before in your community? >> nothing like this before, the people coming through, it has never been this bad. jillian: what would your message be to the administration?
