>> nancy pelosi is totally off the rails. to advise the capitol hill police that staff and visitors to capitol hill will be arrested for not wearing a mask? she has gone totally nuts on this thing and i can think of no worse incentive been telling the american people if you areeo vaccinated and you must still wear a mask because the vaccinations work or do they not? the cdc guidance that they are supposedly basing it on requiring house members to be messed up, and yet when you cross over to the senate side, there is no covid. the other thing is we cdc guidance, they are basing it with data that they won't share with the american people, or those elected with office in congress, supposedly they area basing it on data from another country on a vaccine that is not made by companies here in the united states. this is actually antiscience.

weingarten, we look at england who just came down they had schools open. kids not wearing masks. since the beginning of the pandemic this covid 19 kids are not severely affected by it. can get sick, but the good news is it's extremely low risk of a severe outcome for children. children should absolutely be back in school and i personally believe younger children should not be wearing masks. i do not think there is a benefit to wearing mask for children especially when teachers can be vaccinated and if they want they can wear a high-grade medical masks to give themselves more protection if they so choose. >> jeanine: exactly. and doctor, the concept of children who we know are not as vulnerable as adults are and certainly older adults when it relates to covid and even the delta variant as dr. saphier said, it's more contagious but it's certainly not as dangerous

or lethal. how do they moved to the children who are the least vulnerable of all. >> we should not be putting the burden of protection on our children. the mature l.t. mortality rate, nocircumstance e closing school because a coronavirus. an increase in teen suicide, increase in substance abuse. that is what is needed in the first place. trying to think about closing down these -- it should not be moving and shifting the goalposts. unacceptable at this point. >> jeanine: other then move his child to another school, what if you can go to another school? what if you can afford a private

school? >> you know, you've seen some of meetings, board yelling at the principal and teachers, their hands are tied, they have to listen to their local public health authorities. it really comes from the governor's office. if you want to make a difference, you need to be getting on the phone talking to your governor because ultimately it's up to the governor what the local minister polities are doing and ultimately what the schools are doing because i can tell you if the local public health department is saying they have to wear masks where they have to do this, it's going to be very difficult for a school to make any other decision. because we know it's not going to but if something were to happen, they'll have some sort of liability. the cdc has to get back to a normal level of risk. children have more chance of getting in a severe car accident driving to school then they do from covid-19.

>> jeanine: first of all i'm not so sure about the liability issue when the cdc doesn't have any basis to wrap things up again. with children in masks, is there any exception that any of the schools you know of are accepting to exempt kids from wearing masks like asthma, or they do it for religious exemptions and colleges i understand. what can a frustrated parent do other than go yell at the school board. by the way, go vote for members of the school board. go ahead, doctor. >> we need to have some exemptions and alternatives. if a child has already had covid and they have protection through antibodies, they do not need to be wearing a mask. they are protected. they've got immunity. there are children who have allergies! they may have allergic reactions. we have to take all these factors into consideration and understand the risks and the benefits. right now, the benefit is people must be in the classroom.
