every country should have that. trump wanted to do infrastructure and yet pelosi impeachment, never got it done. tonight, i'm going to tell you what counts as infrastructure. the republicans agreed to this without even ever have read a draft of the bill. it was put together mostly by the majority parties committee staff. now in june, a bipartisan group of senators led by mitt romney thought it was a good idea to engage with president biden on this thing called an infrastructure bill that would cost hundreds of billions of dollars. now the deal included biden's pledge and all together in one room that it would be a stand-alone. in other words, it would not be $3.5 trillion that the democrats cooking up to past reconciliation which means only a simple majority. of course, biden is so out of it he couldn't remember what he said to him about the

negotiation and so he ended up tipping the democrats hand. >> [indistinct double] >> laura: this made the republicans look like charlie brown with lucy, holding the football. >> do you support nancy pelosi's plan to hold a bipartisan bill in the house until the senate will pass? do you support that from her? >> yes, fully. the bipartisan bill from the very beginning will have to be second partisanship. >> laura: everyone knows there will be a bill. a few days later, biden claimed he misspoke.

but we all know what he said about the two bills being one bill is the truth. in other words, if you vote for the infrastructure plan, which needs a filibuster proof majority, you are effectively paving the way for this massive budget bill, multitrillion dollar extravaganza creating brand-new entitlement spending and transforming much of american society from top to bottom. oh, and that bill, as i said, will only need to pass by a simple majority. you get it? but the republicans have once again, it looks like they've been plagued. remember, pelosi doesn't mess around. >> let me be really clear on this, we will not take up a bill in the house until the senate passes the bipartisan bill. and a reconciliation bill. there ain't going to be an infrastructure bill unless we

have the reconciliation bill passed by the united states senate. >> laura: ain't going to be one. now, again, she plays hardball while republicans are waiting for a whistle golf ball game to start. she's not taking up infrastructure until they get gargantuan spending packet to a simple majority vote. simply put, by agreeing to this order of things, the romney group gave up all of their leverage. democrats are able to bypass them entirely on their way to a simple majority vote on a $3.5 trillion package that no one has seen. now, some of what we do know that will be included in this second bill, universal pre-k, free mills for all students, family medical leave, a pathway to citizenship for the doctorate recipients, green or farming and expansion of medicare and that is just the beginning. and today, more than a month

after them romney group met with biden, the democrats finally leap their infrastructure bill. $110 billion roads, bridges, major projects, 66 billion railway, 65 billion broadband but that's not all. there were more in the text which most senators obviously won't have time to read, 2700 pages after all and sponsored new state imposed carbon reduction requirements, $1 billion in the appalachian regional cochaired by joe mansion's wife. wildlife crossing structures that refers to women as socially disadvantaged individuals, and in one part of the bill stipulates that gender identity will be a protected class under federal law. of course, this is how it always goes, right, one party given all the leverage. they get cocky and they go too far. but in this case, who's going to stop them?

white house senior advisor mike donald and positively giddy note to the democrats tonight and part president biden propose and delivers plans that the american people across party lines agree are good for the country. he is doing exactly what he said he would do when he ran for the job acting as the president of red or blue states, but he president of united states. well, unprecedented crisis of bidens own making at the white house admits new passes as him and confusion about his handling of the covid delta variant and the border breakingl numbers last week had a little with 50%. but now, courtesy of the romney group, republicans have given biden bragging rights. they have given him a lifeline. he will not only be able to claim a huge legislative victory and more significantly a pass to gargantuan $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.

and a single g.o.p. vote. and yet can transform huge sectors of american society perhaps forever. the democrats justified the cost of the infrastructure bill by claiming, either way, it was fully paid for. well, here is "the wall street journal" announcement that came out tonight. west virginia democrat joe manchin and senate republican friends are stressing that their deal is fully paid for but read their lips: no new deficit spending. read their bill, it relies on a great degree baked into the treasury. and that is unlikely to happen. now, given that we already loaded an unconscionable burden of debt on our kids and grandkids and given how fast the economy began to recover from the pandemic, that is good news. a smart path would be to the romney group right now to reassess their support for this

infrastructure deal and it includes mitch mcconnell, by the way. go to the voters. explain how the democrats change the rules mid game and head into the midterms with a clear message that america just needs to open up for business fully without burden son mandates, no more accounting gimmicks, and no more legislative games. we will not do any of that. otherwise we may be rebuilding bridges, but the country is going nowhere. that is the "angle." joining me now and i'm glad he's with us senator bill cassidy, one of those out pushing the deal. senator, i appreciate you joining me. my view on this, but i wanted to give you a chance to defend this bill as good for america. but first, have you had a chance to read the 2700 plus pages of text that comprise this bill? >> my staff and i have read it total. and defending it, my gosh, why wouldn't you want this?

$110 billion were broken down bridges to replace or make them better. also to make them safer. $65 billion to bring broadband in areas that do not have it. create jobs along the way. $16 billion for army corps of engineers to address coastal restoration issues and other things that place americans have risk of losing their phones and their businesses from floods. and by the way emma did i mention, it creates a heck of a lot of jobs? and i disagree with your representation, it is paid for. now, it may not be paid for the way you or it here >> laura: so is the journal wrong, senator? senator, we put all those bullets up and i think pretty accurately summing up what you pointed out in the bill, you are right, does include all of that. but it also spends billions on carbon capture products and

almost $1 billion -- hold on a second, the large-scale projects and the viewers don't know about this. another $2.5 billion for what is called demonstration projects. so to some folks, and i think the journal would agree with this, it sounds like 2.0. and your fiscal conservative. how do you justify that, sir? >> absolutely. if you speak of businesses, they were trying to export the markets like europe. they can't export to those markets unless they show that they are offsetting their carbon footprint. we are going to lose the european union as a market. what this does is it helps build carbon dioxide pipelines, by the way, putting pipe fitters to work and construction workers to work. you take that carbon off and use it for another product or sequester beneath the ground. now, by the way, that makes our people more competitive and going into markets like the e.u. here that is absolutely fiscal

to cover. they definitely did not read this bill cover to cover as well. i have a lot of concerns about it as i laid out in the public senate committee memo that we release to our members just a little bit ago. but my biggest concern is this, laura, do the math with me. go back to january when we passed -- when they passed $1.9 trillion so-called covid relief bill. and look today what that has done to inflation in our country. the highest rates of inflation since 1991. do the math with this, $1 trillion infrastructure deal and $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill that nancy pelosi says the infrastructure bill will not pass her house without the reconciliation bill passing with it. imagine what that will do to inflation of this country. you are already paying a dollar more for milk and at the gas pump. you will pay twice as much when these guys are done with it. that is my biggest concern of what is about to happen on these guys is watch. >> laura: well, the pulling on

this it's interesting. the white house i don't limb them for doing this, they are out they are sending out memos and the people supported. voters do generally support an idea of bipartisan infrastructure. again, trump was pushing a version of this. a majority of voters are concerned about the sheer size of the proposal together the infrastructure bill and for spending plan would rent the country $4.7 trillion. 55% of voters say that is too much. 64% oppose a federal tax hike to pay for this. now, i think, congressman, we know the infrastructure bill, that doesn't include a tax increase. obviously, the follow-on bill which senator cassidy thinks is less likely to pass, i do not understand that, he said that is obviously does include tax increase for people over $400,000. so what does this tell you but the selective polling showcasing

the white house is doing? >> yeah, it is like donald trump told us. in fact, he said no deal is better than a bad deal. this is a bad deal. donald trump understood this for four years trying to pass an infrastructure deal. this is a bad deal that is in front of us. you are right. the tax increases and everything else that comes with the almost $110 billion out of this $1 trillion deal will go to roads and bridges. anybody in america why they would consider this as infrastructure. that is a drop in the bucket and that will not be popular with the american people when they understand at the end of the day. >> laura: we appreciate it. they all should have gone to the voters and taken it to the voters. congressman, thank you. and groups of illegals pouring across the borders. they are not stopping there. moments we will take you to mcallen, texas, a report on many illegals are starting their journey inside of our country. stay tuned.

at this point, why shouldn't americans believe this is exactly what they see as success flooding the country with illegals? check out this video from mission texas, a thousand migrants being held, 1,000. less than a mile from a popular crossing site and over in mcallen there's been busload after busload of migrants dropped off at a catholic charity. of course, they are fanning out all over the country courtesy of the u.s. taxpayer. fox news national correspondent vilma lucian has that story for us tonight. >> laura as i speak, there are hundreds of migrants waiting underneath the bridge right now they still have not been processed by border patrol. dhs sources are telling us border patrol and mcallen are running nearly 600% over capacity this past weekend. as a result of that, they are mass releases of migrants happening pretty much nonstop. take a look at this remarkable video that we shot over the weekend right here in mission,

texas. this is sunday afternoon, her drone showing massive illegal immigrants held by border patrol under the largest group we have ever seen in our trips to the border. we are talking at least 1,000 people. border patrol sources tell us 8,000 illegal immigrants apprehended just here in the rio grand valley over the weekend. sunday night in la jolla we came across this large group of 200 migrants who turned themselves into border patrol. many migrants visibly coughing and covid-19 continues to surge among diagram population of the rio grande valley. 900% increase just in the month of july. downtown mcallen today, we watched all day long and border patrol released illegal immigrants en masse. border patrol buses dropped off loads of the migrants at a local catholic charity every 30 minutes. we watched over and over has busloads of the migrants were emptied out and released to the charity. several hundred in total. staff members for catholic

charities of the rio grande valley walk the migrants across the street to grand central station where they were given bus tickets to travel elsewhere across the country. fox news has now learned of a second local hotel with the charities housing covid positive migrants. city officials say they recently found out the charity has been quietly housing infected migrants at this texas in without ever being told by the charity. earlier today i reached out to the executive director of the catholic charity and i asked her straight up "how many positive covid migrants are you housing the local hotels in the rio grande valley?" i've been advised not to comment, laura. >> laura: this is so infuriating. but your kids have to mask up in schools. they care about covid. the biden administration quietly extended title 42. that was trump's idea appear at the trump policy that allowed the u.s. to quickly send illegas back to help prevent the spread of covid. but it is really not the same
