cult. i put it to an expert and congressman jackie speier started out career in politics, working for the lawmaker. a fact-finding mission to jonestown. she knows firsthand the weight of that word, cult. >> sean: mr. stenographer i hate trump, no one read your books, laura ingraham let not your heart be troubled, how are you? >> laura: that was great. why are we giving him any publicity? no one watches his show unless they see it on your show. >> sean: question, if you really consider that publicity [laughter] he's like a pathetic -- hit trump, fox news, you, me, hit rewind. this guy a b he doesn't know that trump isn't in office right now. i can't figure it out. >> laura: is he mr. potato head or
7:01 pm
humpty dumpty? i confuse. >> laura: okay, i'm getting all confused. great show, hannity. my characters are mixed up. i'm laura ingraham and this is "the ingraham angle." illegals are not just crossing the border at record numbers. they are now being sent all over the united states, often times governors and mayors knowing nothing about it. we have a report tonight from the mcallen, texas, where many odysseys began. also hunter biden offers a laughable justification for his heart. and another olympian i don't know if you have seen this, uses the podium to protest. raymond arroyo has that in "seen and unseen." but first from a bridge to nowhere. that is the focus of tonight's "angle." roads and bridges, broadband expansion, fixing potholes and fixing train tracks and increasing internet access for everybody? it all sounds reasonable, right?
7:02 pm
every country should have that. trump wanted to do infrastructure and yet pelosi impeachment, never got it done. tonight, i'm going to tell you what counts as infrastructure. the republicans agreed to this without even ever have read a draft of the bill. it was put together mostly by the majority parties committee staff. now in june, a bipartisan group of senators led by mitt romney thought it was a good idea to engage with president biden on this thing called an infrastructure bill that would cost hundreds of billions of dollars. now the deal included biden's pledge and all together in one room that it would be a stand-alone. in other words, it would not be $3.5 trillion that the democrats cooking up to past reconciliation which means only a simple majority. of course, biden is so out of it he couldn't remember what he said to him about the
7:03 pm
negotiation and so he ended up tipping the democrats hand. >> [indistinct double] >> laura: this made the republicans look like charlie brown with lucy, holding the football. >> do you support nancy pelosi's plan to hold a bipartisan bill in the house until the senate will pass? do you support that from her? >> yes, fully. the bipartisan bill from the very beginning will have to be second partisanship. >> laura: everyone knows there will be a bill. a few days later, biden claimed he misspoke.
7:04 pm
but we all know what he said about the two bills being one bill is the truth. in other words, if you vote for the infrastructure plan, which needs a filibuster proof majority, you are effectively paving the way for this massive budget bill, multitrillion dollar extravaganza creating brand-new entitlement spending and transforming much of american society from top to bottom. oh, and that bill, as i said, will only need to pass by a simple majority. you get it? but the republicans have once again, it looks like they've been plagued. remember, pelosi doesn't mess around. >> let me be really clear on this, we will not take up a bill in the house until the senate passes the bipartisan bill. and a reconciliation bill. there ain't going to be an infrastructure bill unless we
7:05 pm
have the reconciliation bill passed by the united states senate. >> laura: ain't going to be one. now, again, she plays hardball while republicans are waiting for a whistle golf ball game to start. she's not taking up infrastructure until they get gargantuan spending packet to a simple majority vote. simply put, by agreeing to this order of things, the romney group gave up all of their leverage. democrats are able to bypass them entirely on their way to a simple majority vote on a $3.5 trillion package that no one has seen. now, some of what we do know that will be included in this second bill, universal pre-k, free mills for all students, family medical leave, a pathway to citizenship for the doctorate recipients, green or farming and expansion of medicare and that is just the beginning. and today, more than a month
7:06 pm
after them romney group met with biden, the democrats finally leap their infrastructure bill. $110 billion roads, bridges, major projects, 66 billion railway, 65 billion broadband but that's not all. there were more in the text which most senators obviously won't have time to read, 2700 pages after all and sponsored new state imposed carbon reduction requirements, $1 billion in the appalachian regional cochaired by joe mansion's wife. wildlife crossing structures that refers to women as socially disadvantaged individuals, and in one part of the bill stipulates that gender identity will be a protected class under federal law. of course, this is how it always goes, right, one party given all the leverage. they get cocky and they go too far. but in this case, who's going to stop them?
7:07 pm
white house senior advisor mike donald and positively giddy note to the democrats tonight and part president biden propose and delivers plans that the american people across party lines agree are good for the country. he is doing exactly what he said he would do when he ran for the job acting as the president of red or blue states, but he president of united states. well, unprecedented crisis of bidens own making at the white house admits new passes as him and confusion about his handling of the covid delta variant and the border breakingl numbers last week had a little with 50%. but now, courtesy of the romney group, republicans have given biden bragging rights. they have given him a lifeline. he will not only be able to claim a huge legislative victory and more significantly a pass to gargantuan $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.
7:08 pm
and a single g.o.p. vote. and yet can transform huge sectors of american society perhaps forever. the democrats justified the cost of the infrastructure bill by claiming, either way, it was fully paid for. well, here is "the wall street journal" announcement that came out tonight. west virginia democrat joe manchin and senate republican friends are stressing that their deal is fully paid for but read their lips: no new deficit spending. read their bill, it relies on a great degree baked into the treasury. and that is unlikely to happen. now, given that we already loaded an unconscionable burden of debt on our kids and grandkids and given how fast the economy began to recover from the pandemic, that is good news. a smart path would be to the romney group right now to reassess their support for this
7:09 pm
infrastructure deal and it includes mitch mcconnell, by the way. go to the voters. explain how the democrats change the rules mid game and head into the midterms with a clear message that america just needs to open up for business fully without burden son mandates, no more accounting gimmicks, and no more legislative games. we will not do any of that. otherwise we may be rebuilding bridges, but the country is going nowhere. that is the "angle." joining me now and i'm glad he's with us senator bill cassidy, one of those out pushing the deal. senator, i appreciate you joining me. my view on this, but i wanted to give you a chance to defend this bill as good for america. but first, have you had a chance to read the 2700 plus pages of text that comprise this bill? >> my staff and i have read it total. and defending it, my gosh, why wouldn't you want this?
7:10 pm
$110 billion were broken down bridges to replace or make them better. also to make them safer. $65 billion to bring broadband in areas that do not have it. create jobs along the way. $16 billion for army corps of engineers to address coastal restoration issues and other things that place americans have risk of losing their phones and their businesses from floods. and by the way emma did i mention, it creates a heck of a lot of jobs? and i disagree with your representation, it is paid for. now, it may not be paid for the way you or it here >> laura: so is the journal wrong, senator? senator, we put all those bullets up and i think pretty accurately summing up what you pointed out in the bill, you are right, does include all of that. but it also spends billions on carbon capture products and
7:11 pm
almost $1 billion -- hold on a second, the large-scale projects and the viewers don't know about this. another $2.5 billion for what is called demonstration projects. so to some folks, and i think the journal would agree with this, it sounds like 2.0. and your fiscal conservative. how do you justify that, sir? >> absolutely. if you speak of businesses, they were trying to export the markets like europe. they can't export to those markets unless they show that they are offsetting their carbon footprint. we are going to lose the european union as a market. what this does is it helps build carbon dioxide pipelines, by the way, putting pipe fitters to work and construction workers to work. you take that carbon off and use it for another product or sequester beneath the ground. now, by the way, that makes our people more competitive and going into markets like the e.u. here that is absolutely fiscal
7:12 pm
conservatism because it puts americans at work and makes our businesses more competitive. >> laura: so, you think the rules of trade under biden are fair rules? you are a trusting -- >> the european union is putting for border adjustment taxes in place. this positions us so that our people don't lose the market. >> laura: or dancing to europe's tune, but you are right that's up to biden. your colleague mike lee has a different take if you can imagine on the bill and he went on the floor last night. let's watch. >> some of the wealthiest and most well-connected americans will get rich off of legislation like this. this is an enormous amount of money, $1.2 trillion that we will be spending here, this at a time americans feeling the pinch of inflation. we diminish the buying power of the dollar through reckless spending in order to bring praise and adulation from the media and from each other. >> laura: in the white house is, as i said, quite giddy about
7:13 pm
this. reuters describes this as a blind pass to the $3.5 trillion tonight and they write this up senator, your response. >> so a couple of things, it is the person in my state stuck in traffic who is fearful of the home flooding and who wants to have a better job that actually would like to make more money but doesn't make a lot of money now who would really like this bill. i talked to fox news watchers. they love this bill. now come is there somebody that is wealthy? actually for the wealthy this means less fear they have chauffeurs, they have private jets, they can fly but if the people live in their own homes -- >> laura: but senator wyden you guys -- >> $3.5 trillion and she doesn't think she has the votes for that $3.5 trillion. >> laura: senator are you want to show cinque nancy pelosi hasn't gained out her votes? do you actually think -- hold
7:14 pm
on. speak with the rule of eviction. she has the votes and is hoping to pull these together to get it passed. and by the way, mike lee -- they are trying to help nancy pelosi. >> laura: so the tax increase that the bipartisan infrastructure bill makes possible that $3.5 trillion behemoth that you will not support, correct? >> so i reject your characterization. this bill makes that $3.5 trillion less likely to pass in the squad knows it. bernie knows it. they are the ones objecting to spill because they think it is lax likely to pass 3.5 trillion behemoth. >> why did you emma connell and company did not act or say we are happy to talk roads and bridges and have that completely separate. biden did guarantee that so why
7:15 pm
not do what pelosi did and sake show us your hand first and let's see the full text not do what pelosi did and sak of your reconciliation bill show us your hand first and and everything climate change and tax increases, all of the nightmares that we already did tonight, let them show their hand but that got flipped and you guys got played on this and you have the vote first or agreed first. they still haven't shown that text of the legislation, have, sir? >> the ironic thing you are agreeing with the squad and bernie. it is amazing, you agree with pelosi. we think this is a behemoth likely to pass. and somehow, if i make, laura, if i may, we make that bill less likely to pass. if we think this bill and married them together, it is more likely to pass. that is just simple logic intelligence. i'm not quite following. >> laura: you don't follow, you don't follow
7:16 pm
"the wall street journal" national review, yours truly coming in a number of people online that are writing about economics. for 35 years? >> it makes it order to pass $3.5 trillion. >> laura: no, no, no. you made it easy for them. make them show their text first. you realize that america will be changed forever. >> everything you have, -- >> laura: they can't pass it. senator, i know you are doing this, senator. >> $110 billion for roads and bridges. >> laura: you could have gotten that without giving away the storm, but i know you are talking loudly because you are trying to be relate -- but it's just not working. >> they are less likely to get $3.5 trillion. >> laura: okay, when you pass $3.5 trillion to come back on the show, would you say you are wrong? >> oh, somehow --
7:17 pm
>> laura: yes or no? okay, no. >> even though, it somehow happens, this is to blame. laura, that is specious and you know it. >> laura: senator, we appreciate you coming on tonight. i don't think i've ever heard the senator talk so loudly to democrats before but i love that he did that. 20 make congressman jim banks from the committee who blasted infrastructure bill in a memo to his members. congressman, look you have 17 g.o.p. senators and you have mitch mcconnell, romney, portman, all of these guys in the senate for a long time who are well respected in the business community. why was senator kennedy wrong? >> well, laura, this bill is twice as long as the bible. i can guarantee you there is not a senator that read the bible cover to cover over the last 24 hours. >> laura: senator cassidy said he read it. congressman senator cassidy said he read it with his staff. >> it is hard for me to believe that anyone read the bible cover
7:18 pm
to cover. they definitely did not read this bill cover to cover as well. i have a lot of concerns about it as i laid out in the public senate committee memo that we release to our members just a little bit ago. but my biggest concern is this, laura, do the math with me. go back to january when we passed -- when they passed $1.9 trillion so-called covid relief bill. and look today what that has done to inflation in our country. the highest rates of inflation since 1991. do the math with this, $1 trillion infrastructure deal and $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill that nancy pelosi says the infrastructure bill will not pass her house without the reconciliation bill passing with it. imagine what that will do to inflation of this country. you are already paying a dollar more for milk and at the gas pump. you will pay twice as much when these guys are done with it. that is my biggest concern of what is about to happen on these guys is watch. >> laura: well, the pulling on
7:19 pm
this it's interesting. the white house i don't limb them for doing this, they are out they are sending out memos and the people supported. voters do generally support an idea of bipartisan infrastructure. again, trump was pushing a version of this. a majority of voters are concerned about the sheer size of the proposal together the infrastructure bill and for spending plan would rent the country $4.7 trillion. 55% of voters say that is too much. 64% oppose a federal tax hike to pay for this. now, i think, congressman, we know the infrastructure bill, that doesn't include a tax increase. obviously, the follow-on bill which senator cassidy thinks is less likely to pass, i do not understand that, he said that is obviously does include tax increase for people over $400,000. so what does this tell you but the selective polling showcasing
7:20 pm
the white house is doing? >> yeah, it is like donald trump told us. in fact, he said no deal is better than a bad deal. this is a bad deal. donald trump understood this for four years trying to pass an infrastructure deal. this is a bad deal that is in front of us. you are right. the tax increases and everything else that comes with the almost $110 billion out of this $1 trillion deal will go to roads and bridges. anybody in america why they would consider this as infrastructure. that is a drop in the bucket and that will not be popular with the american people when they understand at the end of the day. >> laura: we appreciate it. they all should have gone to the voters and taken it to the voters. congressman, thank you. and groups of illegals pouring across the borders. they are not stopping there. moments we will take you to mcallen, texas, a report on many illegals are starting their journey inside of our country. stay tuned.
7:25 pm
7:26 pm
at this point, why shouldn't americans believe this is exactly what they see as success flooding the country with illegals? check out this video from mission texas, a thousand migrants being held, 1,000. less than a mile from a popular crossing site and over in mcallen there's been busload after busload of migrants dropped off at a catholic charity. of course, they are fanning out all over the country courtesy of the u.s. taxpayer. fox news national correspondent vilma lucian has that story for us tonight. >> laura as i speak, there are hundreds of migrants waiting underneath the bridge right now they still have not been processed by border patrol. dhs sources are telling us border patrol and mcallen are running nearly 600% over capacity this past weekend. as a result of that, they are mass releases of migrants happening pretty much nonstop. take a look at this remarkable video that we shot over the weekend right here in mission,

texas. this is sunday afternoon, her drone showing massive illegal immigrants held by border patrol under the largest group we have ever seen in our trips to the border. we are talking at least 1,000 people. border patrol sources tell us 8,000 illegal immigrants apprehended just here in the rio grand valley over the weekend. sunday night in la jolla we came across this large group of 200 migrants who turned themselves into border patrol. many migrants visibly coughing and covid-19 continues to surge among diagram population of the rio grande valley. 900% increase just in the month of july. downtown mcallen today, we watched all day long and border patrol released illegal immigrants en masse. border patrol buses dropped off loads of the migrants at a local catholic charity every 30 minutes. we watched over and over has busloads of the migrants were emptied out and released to the charity. several hundred in total. staff members for catholic
7:28 pm
charities of the rio grande valley walk the migrants across the street to grand central station where they were given bus tickets to travel elsewhere across the country. fox news has now learned of a second local hotel with the charities housing covid positive migrants. city officials say they recently found out the charity has been quietly housing infected migrants at this texas in without ever being told by the charity. earlier today i reached out to the executive director of the catholic charity and i asked her straight up "how many positive covid migrants are you housing the local hotels in the rio grande valley?" i've been advised not to comment, laura. >> laura: this is so infuriating. but your kids have to mask up in schools. they care about covid. the biden administration quietly extended title 42. that was trump's idea appear at the trump policy that allowed the u.s. to quickly send illegas back to help prevent the spread of covid. but it is really not the same
7:29 pm
under placement with trump but technically the same this administration will not enforce it. as you just heard from bill, facilities are so overrun that busloads of the illegals are being sent all over the united states, including many that are covid positive. one senior customs and border protection told the "washington examiner," encountered with unaccompanied children to move out of custody quickly. if they are infected and no obvious symptoms, they are snell. dan patrick, u.s. official confirmed to the ap the number of unaccompanied children picked up by border authorities will likely hit the all-time high in july. why is this not being covered? >> now, going back, well, it's not being covered because of marxist mainstream media, laura. fox news to tell the story and americans all over the country
7:30 pm
are angry what's happening to the country. total invasion. and people at every state are going to die through a combination of people coming in illegally with covid, with the fennel drugs setting an all-time record, and the criminals that are crossing the border. imagine, laura, if you lived in mission, la jolla, i've been to those towns many times and 2:00 in the morning, 3:00 in the money you have people all around your streets walking by your house. these people are everywhere. when they leave the bridge, laura, where did they go? they go to subsidy america taking covid, prime background if they are criminals or delivering drugs. this administration is putting american lives, not at risk, not likely to die. americans will die because of this policy. >> laura: he's getting the bipartisan infrastructure thing through so that will help his popularity. >> by the way, the senator that you interviewed, he's the kind of senator that makes the republicans not want to show up
7:31 pm
at the polls, disgraceful. >> laura: senator to come onto show when and we could not give still might get anyone to defend tips so i give him credit. watch the media come as you said, dan, public health crisis that biden administration has created, watch. >> right now a lot of immigrants are overcrowded. shelters, detention centers and in order to move them out with her to go live with their families or to go to other detention centers, they need to be able to put them on buses. this is very common and not new to the biden administration. emigrants transported out of the state of texas throughout many administrations. >> laura: this happens all the time, dan. it is always done this way. is she kidding me? >> no, they think american public is stupid. i can tell you what will happen in the rio grande valley. the real grand valley, trump turn counties first time ever from democrat to republican, he, not hebert the 2022 elections,
7:32 pm
governor abbott, myself, statewide congressmen, we will turn that will valley republican. hispanics across the country as we have always said sheer pro-life, charter schools, lower taxes and economic opportunities, second amendment rights and border patrol, i think that will be the leaders to throw the democrats out on the rear end for a good pair of the socialist policies are what many of them escape from and remember, laura, if you took yor family to kabul or cancun, you couldn't get back the rear end for a good, the in the country unless you tested negative. socialist policies are what many >> laura: the border is closed. >> laura: the secretary said the border is closed, dan. >> that is a joke. >> laura: thank you. and unless the nearest break their own covid rule, of course it is raymond arroyo and "seen and unseen" is next.

♪ ♪ >> laura: it is time for our "seen and unseen" segment where we explore the cultural stories of the day. for that we turn to raymond arroyo. now, the mayors across the country have begun to reinstate our favorite mask mandates for their citizens. but i guess the rules don't really apply to the mayors. >> apparently not, laura. the day d.c. murray old files with her mask mandates she partied with david chapelle with no mask. then on saturday the day the mask mandate went into effect she officiated a wedding with no mask and mayor bowser was photographed indoors at the wedding with again, no mask. read into that what you like. >> laura: a statement or office said she was actively eating or drinking, raymond. >> come on, does it look like she's eating or drinking in the shot? no one is putting a fork in her
