talk about how creepy governor cuomo is. this country could not get better. a lot more on that. first tonight welcome to "tucker carlson tonight" coming to you from budapest, hungary. last summer as the covid pandemic raged throughout the united states people who read the "new york times" noticed something strange. hundreds of articles going back decades disappeared. the "new york times" considers itself a living historical record and maintained searchable archives going back before the civil wars but articles disappeared. what was in those articles.

every one was a propaganda piece paid for by the chinese communist party. you are seeing one on your screen right now. why would the "new york times," america's paper of record, print propaganda from this regime and pretend it was a news article? for money. financial filings show the "new york times" made more than $100,000 a month from this garbage. those payments were not disclosed. they were hidden from "new york times" readers and only uncovered by the washington free beacon. the "new york times" was not the only organization that did this. the chinese communist party paid $20 million to the "l.a. times" and the chicago tribune and the "washington post." twitter also received checks

from the chinese government totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. these arrangements continued for years. last summer they stopped abruptly. the "new york times" tried to hide the evidence it ever happened. why? the "new york times" won't say. we do not discuss revenue beyond our quarter-final earnings report. we kept looking. first here is some context for what the "new york times" did. this is what mainstream news coverage in the united states looked like most of last year. see if you can tell the difference between this and what you might see on chinese state television. >> the president referred to the coronavirus as a foreign virus. i think it's going to come across to a lot of americans as smacking of xenophobia. >> he thinks the only path now is to declare the virus public enemy 1 and paint it in racist terms. >> the xenophobia and the racism

manipulated. >> scientists agrees this corners was not man made. it came from a natural source, not from a lab. >> people like the phrase escape from a lab. it sounds like they are talking about a man made virus that china was weaponizing that got out of control. >> tucker: it wasn't just dumb people on cable news. that was anthony fauci and scott gottlieb who ran the fda. these are people in positions of authority and respected as scientists whose word carries great moral weight. they all lied. the "new york times" led the way on this. a piece on unheard.com deconstructs the "new york times"'s roll on the propaganda effort on behalf of china. the "times" dismissed the lab leak theory as a fringe theory.

only lunatics believe it. the "new york times" reporter called the theory the kind of conspiracy once reserved for the tinfoil hatters. you are a nut case if you think it's possible. then the paper published an op-ed by the virologist paid by anthony fauci to experiment on bat coronaviruses. talk about a conflict of interests. he denyed it came from a lab he was funding. he knew better -- he blamed the pandemic on deforestation, in other words on poor people. lies like this became less tenable. people noticed that a level 4 virology world in wuhan was conducting dangerous experiments on bat coronaviruses with fewer safe guards than a dentist

office has in the united states. they toyed that tony fauci helped to pay for those experiments. that's when the "times" deleted the articles. two high level employees said the paper stopped any investigation into evidence that the coronavirus came from that lab in wuhan. one whistleblower said i suggested we investigate the origins of covid. i was told it was dangerous to run a piece about the origins of the coronavirus. there was resistance to running anything that could suggest covid 19 was man made or leaked from the lab. it was untouchable from everywhere said another "times" source. the fact that trump embraced it made it a no go. according to whistleblowers the biggest factor was the fact that

the "new york times" was taking money from the chinese communist government. so they called the story that was not a theory but real. the house foreign affairs committee suggested that the coronavirus escaped from the lab in wuhan in december 2019. athletes from around the world were in wuhan and brought covid home with them. why didn't we know this? because of a lying campaign on behalf of the government of china. peter who is still used by the "washington post" as an authority on the origin of covid. they describe him as the public face of a chinese communist party disinformation campaign designed to suppress public

discussion about a lab leak. the committee discovered evidence that the wuhan institute of virology sought bids for 2 contracts in 2019. one was very a security service procurement project issued on september 12th. september 12th was the same day that the would you know would you know lab abruptly took its virus database off line. 4 days later the wuhan lab announced another contract competition. for a $600-million effort to renoivate the lab's air conditioning system. -- renoivate. why? the "times" dispatch from beijing, all evidence of those contract were wiped from the website of china.

john ratcliff is the former director of national intelligence and wrote an op-ed that include this assessment: the lab leak theory is not just a possibility. it's more like a probability is not close to a certainty. john joins us tonight. thanks for coming on. so many implications here. you are one of the few people in a position to make the statement you just did. you believe that the theory that this virus emerged from the wuhan lab to infect the world is almost certainly true. why do you believe that? >> tucker, it's not just me. other folks that had access to the most sensitive information

like pompeo have long believed that the most likely outcome of where this virus came from was the wuhan institute of virology based on intelligence. how much could we publicly disclose in i worked with sect pompeo to put out a fact sheet is the factors you just outlined about circumstances at the wuhan institute of virology, we wanted to put as much information as we could without jeopardizing our sources into the chinese communist party. >> tucker: the biden administration controlled the federal government for 6 months now still seems to be hiding this information. if this is true and it's almost certain it is true, what are the implications? the chinese government destroyed

american society and our economy. how do we respond? >> that's where i wrote the op-ed. one of the first opportunities for the international community to do something instead of a letter or rhetoric is to take action. tucker, if you look objectively at china's conduct over the last year, millions of muslims murdered, tortured, raped or imprisoned and 4 million people worldwide impacted by a virus that originated and was covered up by the chinese communist party will be hosting the winter olympics. of all of the despotic regimes around the world i can't think of any country less deserving than having world athletes for a celebration of international good will and friendship. the united states needs to lead on this issue.

earlier several women accused him of sexual misconduct and the media treated that like a bigger scandal than the fact that governor cuomo caused deaths of seniors in nursing homes. andrew cuomo is a big believer in the "me too" movement. today the attorney general completed the investigation into andrew cuomo's serial creepness. he violated multiple state and federal laws. >> the investigation found that governor cuomo sexually harassed current and former new york state employees by engaging in unwelcome touching and make offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature.

>> the governor's partern of sexual harassment was not limited to members of his own staff, but extended to other state employees including a state trooper who served on his protective detail. some suffered through unwanted touching and grabbing of their most intimate body parts. >> the governor hugged executive assistant number 1 and reached under her blouse to grab her breast. this was a pattern of inappropriate sexual misconduct. he ran his hands up and down her back. he grabbed her butt. >> tucker: wasn't joe biden accused of that? we are pretending that didn't

happen. andrew cuomo is not against defunding the police. he wants to have sex with them or at least one of them. you can find this repulsive and find andrew cuomo repulsive. it's okay to dislike everybody involved. the report found that governor cuomo was sexually attracted to his emmy statue. how is that for weird? two witnesses said that he looked at his emmy statue he won in november of 2020 and said, look at her figure. isn't she buxom? [laughing] this is a total creep for real -- but you knew that. another exhibit shows chris cuomo of cnn drafted a statement for his brother which his brother used.

cnn flacking for the governor of new york to defending himself against sexual harassment. he didn't claim anti-italian bias which he claimed in the pass. he said he is not resigning. he showed a slide show of himself kissing people including al gore. >> i never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances. i am 63 years old. i have lived my entire adult life in public view. that is just not who i am. that's not who i have ever been. >> tucker: we didn't show the tape but the slide show that cuomo put on the screen showed

him hugging al gore but not reaching under gore's shirt to grab his man's boobs. we are not sure what to make of all of this. francie is a former federal prosecutor and joins us. how would assess what we just learned about governor creepo? >> well, i think governor cuomo is in a lot of trouble. it's convenient he said that's not who i am. that's a classic non-denial we hear from sex offenders. he empathized with these women but call them a liar. you can't have it both ways. one woman he said he felt so much sympathy for her it was discussing. everyone talks about sexual harassment and unwanting

touching, but grabbing someone in their breast area or butt, those are battery, assault and sexual batteries. those are crimes. that's very different from a civil case which is what the attorney general is talking about today. >> tucker: so, i hate to borrow the words of the "me too" movement. what this establishes is a pattern over time of sexually aggressive behavior in the office of one of the most liberal governors in america. ask any woman who has dated a liberal man, they are terrible to date. they mistreat women. why did nobody in the office report this until now? why did it take years? >> that's an interesting question. it's about power. when you have someone in a power

position, a governor who is talked about as a presidential candidate. even women would rather run women down for their own careers. they are looking for their own korean advancement. they are willing to protect the governor. what he said about kissing al gore is a ridiculous excuse and you consider that sexual battery and harassment never take place in the public eye. isn't it convenient he built for himself a touchy reputation? did he do that so that he could claim later that these were all misinterpreted touchings and he is just an affectionate man. >> tucker: i kissed al gore is not a defense. that's an admission of guilt. even tipper had enough of this.
