are still alive. >> absolutely i think the problem here is we are going to learn and good on the congressman for doing what he can, it bothers me went over like that because at the end of the day, if you his capture, he would be a target it would be my brothers and sisters putting their lives at risk. you don't cowboy up like that. he had other things to do and that's okay, don't put your life at risk about way. with that being said, the problem here, and i hope he's involved in investigating, and i hope he can convince his colleagues on the other side of the aisle that we have an opportunity to bring them home in order. the fact that we brought back 100,000 people and we thought people who play key rolls in maybe saving president biden who didn't get back, 200 americans didn't get back in their families didn't get back, that is a problem we have.

president prior to him, any president. that was our model, no american left behind and he did not leave americans behind. you are seeing something very different with the state department, antony blinken, your hearing the narrative he's putting forward, their home is afghanistan. their families are there, maybe they want to be there. this is a narrative all 100 of these the americans want to be left behind. they also want to think of the americans in terms of percentages. biden said it's only 10% of americans left behind. these are percentages, these are people. i watched an interview with a woman, 25 years old. american citizen, she's pregnant with her boyfriend in afghanistan, trying to get to the airport because the state department told her to and they picked her up, they didn't pick her up. the taliban put a gun to her head and said get back here. leading her to say there's days i think to myself, am i going to make it home? am i going to die here? these are people and they

kamala harris and the harris administration. we have a president who ran in 2020 and said he would listen to the military officials on the ground from a heat listen to the intelligence community. he did neither and afghanistan. we got a man will live china to become most effective actor on the world stage right now for what's going on in the taliban in afghanistan, billings and trillions of dollars with resources the taliban wants. not only that, hunter biden china started investing in the joe biden very early on after they decided perhaps they would decimate our economy later on through covid in the wuhan bible leak if we believe the reporting period joe biden cannot leave this nation, it's become so problematic american lives have been lost, something would probably would not have seen in the previous administration 13 soldiers killed.

welcome back to the big saturday show. this week, three both veterans the afghanistan war in plano texas for a wide-ranging discussion about the ending of tooth decades of u.s. military presence and a troubled nation of afghanistan. twenty-three, marine corps combat veteran walker bush whose grandfather and uncle both served as u.s. president. in for treatment amos who lost his brother picture here, during the course of the war in afghanistan. army ranger captain went back to afghanistan to serve even after losing a portion. i asked how they felt about the afghan failing of the biden administration. >> how to trust the people spend

their for years? it's an absolute failure in leadership, it's in measurable. you can't quantify it. it been tough. it's so ridiculous you can't make it up. it was so botched at the highest level that you've got to think these people are either completely inept or they shouldn't be in leadership position where there's an ulterior motive. both of those scenarios, it's impossible to have a positive emotion about this. >> a corporal in a marine corps coming up with a better plan than these knuckleheads it did on the exit strategy. everything about it was so

wrong. here's one of the issues i wish in this goes back to politics and everything, when people run for office, i wish they would just keep their mouth shut about what they are going to do from a militaristic view because you don't know truly what's on the ground yet. you have not been read on to what's really happening. you watch the news but you don't know the ground truth from the people from the military, the intelligence community. the only thing i heard from you was a change in policy. walker, let's plan on you, you are the least political walker bush i think there is but your uncle, the 43rd president of the united states the guy who signed the check for the guys in afghanistan the first time. >> there's not a single person i know outside of the veteran world that cares as deeply about the individual fighter than my

the least you can do is show every amount of respect you can for the less than 1% of this population of the united states who voluntarily signed up. i tell people all the time, real men serve because we hates what in front of us, we don't serve because we leave them behind. that means people like us on the voluntary line to serve and defend this country have to go over and take the fight for them, that's what we have to do. >> there talking about why we go and fight, why we sign the dotted line. that wasn't overly political interview, it really wasn't. they felt cheated from the time we sat down. my question to you, you are a young man know what it's like to be inspired, how do we inspire the next line of generation after what we've seen the last two weeks?

>> you are inspiring, you inspired me to do bigger and better you are a colleague, i consider you a friend of mine you've been through it all. i share and discuss with those gentlemen you interview who bravely served our country. also, thanks to my aunt and my cousin who served and currently are serving but i've got to tell you, i have no confidence in this president, this administration to care. they talk about empathy, why would you check your watch on the tarmac? are you trying to figure out if it's your naptime? not funny but man, you're the president of united states, you're supposed to be a compassionate leader but you said donald trump wasn't a compassionate leader, a man would check on the soldiers, he would get out of the car and greet these men and women. he's not doing that.

i am majorly concerned after what we saw and afghanistan, what entry of the country like china and other countries like russia who may look at what's going on and say we have a potential way to go in and protect the united states especially considering the fact that 9/11 is coming up with these organizations like isis k and who knows, it is a major concern and i think most americans are concerned about this resident. >> kayleigh, i want to get some inside baseball here. the problem i have in my brothers with me, we have a big gap in military leadership. other generals been compromised on politics? is our service academies? is this really how they are? general mckenzie raising the taliban in three trips morning there families? >> there's no doubt that generals are being compromised by politics.

an enormous amount of effort put into critical race theory and all kinds of political correctness. they are in the pentagon, i wish they would put more into afghanistan strategies and i think there's more to the story than what we currently know because i can tell you this, i'm certain general milley and others told president biden the taliban suggested into -- i talked to rick this week and set the intelligence going back to may set the taliban was on the move. so either milley hit her from the present or he told the president but i've got to believe it's the latter. >> sometimes you throw your rank on the table and be willing to walk away. it's a horrible thing today. katie, i want to go to you this last part. kat talked how he wished some people running for office this would make promises on military decisions. i think what he was getting to

is president biden in china felt this campaign promise bring troops home, they didn't already understand the situation by the filling the campaign promise. you think he's onto something inside maybe this is not a place you make campaign promises? >> i think there is enormous push and pull when it comes to campaigning and politics having someone like the president of united states or others to run for office, congress for example looking at subjects including foreign policy and what constituents want. the bottom line is the majority of americans wanted the war in afghanistan to and now we are seeing they are appalled by the way we entered it and the chaotic way this president decided to do that. unfortunately, our enemies especially when it comes to radical terrorist groups like the taliban, isis, you name it, that doesn't always work well

and their long-term strategy with their political goals whether from politicians or americans watching so some politicians i was a have to break promises on foreign policy because once they get into, they have to change their minds about keeping americans safe but on back, i want to get back to your interview, over the past couple weeks, it's been inspiring to watch you take all of this on and be so resolved despite everything everybody is feeling. i can't imagine how you felt the past couple weeks, i feel the way i do and are not a veteran who served in afghanistan. i know all veterans i've talked to, many of them who want to leave afghanistan are completely disgusted and beside themselves about the way this went. a green beret who served in afghanistan said he feels we

welcome back to the big saturday show. our prompter has gone down so we will have to improvise. welcome back. afghan the united states from a bunch of security concerns being flagged. 10000 of the 30,000 afghans have not been vetted properly so they are still looking into the backgrounds of these individuals who don't have papers 100 have raised concerns for additional review. two afghans are being sent back because they were flagged for potential security concerns. the vetting is being done, we are told by press secretary we have a soundbite here, let's play it. >> i can assure you no one is coming into the united states of

america who's not been through a thorough screening and background check process. >> katie, we have lloyd austin telling us the process was designed to be a slow process and we are basically now having to review this quickly tens of thousands of people are coming through our country. do you believe the vetting is working appropriately? >> absolutely not. the vast majority now of people who are airlifted which depending on the white house, the most historic successful airlift in history were not sib holders, they were random afghans running to the runway and were shoved into our c-17 and now we are learning some of these afghans were coming from a they were already here once they are here it's difficult to remove them. not only have ties to possible terrorism but also are pedophiles, they have children

with them from they force them to marry to get out of afghanistan so the follow-up question is, how to they met these people? reportedly printing out recess and paperwork to get into the airport, that's a major concern so even the white house says there is vetting going on, you have a country where there is complete collapse of the government and no paper trail to vent anybody, i don't think you can trust a single part of the process that wasn't in the system before the past three weeks happened. >> no doubt about it. joey, the new york times have a repealing report on how this went down. mr. biden's speech august 31 at the white house marking the end of americans, a private charter plane, afghanistan fourth-largest city arrived at the airport, one of ten stations in eight countries with no

notice, carrying no american citizens by hundreds of afghans demanding the plane apparently by a law firm offering no clarity about whether passengers deserve special recess for helping american troops. this is one of several rogue flights to put a third party hundred, people without paperwork. >> the first issue here is why do we have to have these flights? some of the things that haven't worked very heroic but completely unnecessary in the sense that we should not have been in that position to begin with. an anecdotal story here, i was on the phone several days until the bomb went off, the marine buddy of mine who was trying to use an interpreter in afghanistan, they had worked for six years, 21422020 to get his interpreter out and they were working on a second one could not -- you know what the answer is low cost but you have to wait on it and let it happen.

also we need to make our voices known and hurt because so many americans are hurting under this administration. inflation, gas and prices, recent job numbers, 70% off production. 70% and then you look at the unemployment are people who are refusing to go back to work not necessarily because of their safety because they are making more money on unemployment than anything else. it always comes with citizens making their voices known and hurt and i can appreciate what the owner has done in terms of letting their voices be heard even if they don't agree with it. >> hopefully they were able to restock the kitchen after having so much so if they want to go there to get something to eat next, quitting tennis after a loss to u.s. open, is she being a sore loser? straightahead. ♪♪

shake hands if you must, if you lost, he lost with grace. you didn't quit but the generation after us seemingly do things different and look at more as their image as a success. what you think of this? >> i think no two stories are the same on this. simone biles, i don't compare her. the public microphone an instagram and the press and if you're struggling with things, that's okay. we all struggle with things and there's more pressure on these athletes but men probably anyone in the public eye, they should be encouraged to step away and get the help they need, not in probably back and forth when they are still going to compete and get in front of the microphone bully from reporters and bullying her for asking questions. taylor said quit asking because i'm not going to tell and everybody said you don't need to talk to a reporter that way no matter how frustrated you are.

18, 16 million participating in sports today. during covid, anxiety, depression, the numbers have gone up especially among that group. how do we correct that? >> i feel for her, the press can be brutal, trust me i get that. president trump gets that. he's suffered a lot of negative press. she's 23 years old, that's tough with that level of scrutiny on you but i think the biggest thing for athletes going through this is to realize there's something bigger than your career, something bigger as important as it may seem, something bigger and that's faith and family and finding love and confidence in those attributes and those things around you so if you can get there and say who cares what the process? it would be who of her and she would probably be a happy person in that sense. >> i would say we've all mastered that with the press trying to attack us for being the good guy.

anyway, katie, i wanted to ask you this, this young lady is really talented, she beat serena williams which is hard to believe knowing who serena is but she said she has this anxiety when she goes before the press and she spent depressed in general for two or three months, is this a sport she should be involved in? talking to media as part of the job. >> i think all of these decisions are personal decisions. joey set every single situation is different. as someone who once upon a time lost to championships and back to back seasons of volleyball and basketball, i was completely inconsolable. i did have the chance to keep going and playing because i graduated wasn't good enough to play in college. there's a difference between having a mental health problem and losing a game and feeling upset about it and sad about it and being very angry. if she's having a real mental

health problem, then she probably should step away as she sat and take a break from the pressures of being a public person at the age of 23. this is her job, she's got professional obligations here but if it's something she needs to deal with than short but i do think you have to make a distinction between losing and figuring out why you lost and build yourself up and becoming better and not necessarily turning into woe is me and i'm going to quit. i'm not saying that's the situation here but figuring that out, maybe she needs to take time to herself and she'll figure it out. i hope there are people around her who can mentor her and help her make that decision. >> i've never thought i would hear katie, she chose fox news. we appreciate you.
