you thought terrorism would increase after got out of afghanistan and lost that base, why did he advise the president that it was okay to move forward with this position in this manner? >> well, i hope that he mentioned during the withdrawal, if he didn't, that is unbelievable. here is the reality, the biden administration did force the military to draw down 600 troops and then had to secure the embassy in kabul airfield, but they didn't even secure the embassy. that is moment you have to throw your rank on the table and say "if you go forward, mr. president, i am resigning and thus far, only the marine corps colonel has had the temerity to resign in the face of a disagreement with the commander in chief." there it needs to be a thorough investigation into which this absolute wonder occurred. i fear -- we need people to be held accountable on our side, whether that military and the state department, national security council, not only for the disaster of the withdrawal

but also for the deception with which it was carried out. i do believe, rachel, fundamentally this administration believes this is a new cycle they can manage and get away with. as long as they have friendly allies in the media, they can get away with this. this is a matter of life and death and not a matter of tweets. >> rachel: what can congress do because i believe the american people think they are getting away with it and they are not even apologizing. >> a few things, one, i was on the floor last week that would have prevented recognizing the tele- plan has legitimate government and prevented any money from being sent to the taliban so we don't end up bribing the taliban in order to get the american citizens that we left there back. that should be a minimum foundation going forward. we also need a full count of weapons we abandon that are in the hands of the taliban. we also need a plan for the administration for rescuing our people, and we do not happen right now. spohn think you congressman gallagher. we will come back to you later with more information. and now, staying in afghanistan

administration is saying is you could argue is just a lie. he said he didn't leave with american still there. this is simply not true. now we are simply in the largest, largest hostage stand off with americans in modern history. the only way that it's not that is if the administration plans to go back and get them. >> rachel: we are seeing a mack hearing reports, dakota, the brave vets and civilians with missions to try to rescue allies and americans, they are saying they are being thwarted by the state department. what if you heard? >> same thing. i know a couple of organizations out there. the administration, we would not have got as many people out before they left. if it wasn't for veterans going back over there and doing this, nonprofit organizations going over and getting these people out, which is atrocious, especially on the administration's hands, right? of course, we have heard multiple stories from multiple

sources that they had like hundreds of people standing outside of the gate, but they were turned away because the administration didn't want to take them. so all of this stuff, look, no one keeping people from coming to the airfield to be able to leave. they are not locking them. the agreement is we would be there until the 31st. the taliban was still the enemy until the 31st. so i don't understand how we are allowing all of this to go on, especially our generals. especially our generals on the ground there allowing these marines, these marines, army, navy, all of these warriors to be put in this type of danger. and then look what happened. they are not being held accountable? i don't blame the administration on this. i blame everyone in the top in the military. if they don't agree with this, then they need to resign. the lieutenant colonel is the only one that has had the courage to stand up and say "why are these things happening? "and you see what happened to

him. >> rachel: absolutely, dakota we are coming up on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 appeared to be mentioned at the top of the segment, joe biden a great moment for him with the photo op clearly an embarrassment and humiliation for the country. more important, what will this anniversary mean for people like you who served bravely during this war were for the 9/11 families? what are your thoughts on that? >> look my think at the end of the day, look, this administraty administration represents us in the american people. i think we have been away from that so long. we have to go back and focus we are the greatest country on the face of the planet. we have the greatest military in the face of the planet because we have the greatest men and women who are so courageous. all volunteer force willing to go out and do the bidding on behalf of america and on behalf of this country on behalf of what this country and that is not lost. for those people who wonder if the war goes on, it does.

the world, especially here in the united states. our president said "we will welcome these refugees as long as they pass a background check and security screening." but that turns out it is not happening. many of them have not been vetted and freed to walk away from designated bases. here is what congressman tom tiffany from wisconsin told me on fox & friends this weekend. >> the 2,000 afghan evacuees that were there at that point, it is now over 8,000. none of them have gone through the special immigration process. if you remember, the biden administration was telling us two or three weeks ago that everyone was going through a thorough vetting including the special immigration visa process. it turns out they weren't. they are being waved through on something called the parole authority that the head of homeland security as a peer of the second thing we found out from the commanding general, someone wants to leave, not just fort mccoy, but if you have parole authority, you can leave at any time. >> rachel: 20 me now to react

former acting director of national intelligence, ric grenell, welcome. what do you make of this? how is it possible they can walk off of the base and all of this without a proper vetting process? >> look, it is illegal. congress has mandated rules for how people get into the united states. and we should also start by saying the united states is the most generous country in the entire world for welcoming new people to become u.s. citizens. 1 million people a year get to become u.s. citizens. no other country does that. but unfortunately, we have 100 million people that want to come in. so you have to have rules, otherwise, you don't have a country. now, ramstein airbase and germany where i was u.s. ambassador is welcoming many of the afghan refugees. and i can tell you through my sources there, people who used to work for me, and have now

contacted me to say that the vetting process is atrocious. they are being told by the biden administration officials to rush people through if there is not proper documentation. now, this is illegal. it also puts foreign service officers, the state department employees, dhs employees, in a terrible position. many of them don't want to be involved because they are being told to break congressionally mandated rules just to rush people through. i can tell you, rachel, there are more than 25,000 people that have gone through ram stein, less than 1,000 have been american citizens. many of them rushed through. some doing just refueling operations from kuwait destined for philadelphia and we are putting air marshals on the plane when they land in germany because we just don't trust the

vetting process coming into the united states. >> rachel: one thing that doesn't make sense to me is why are they just letting them be relocated in the region? it is cheaper for the american taxpayers are less cultural shock the immigration and refugees. why are they doing that? >> look, that is such a great question. i learned and spent eight years in the human and i learned one thing about refugees. they really don't want to go to a brand-new place where they don't speak the language. where culturally, it is a shock. and they don't have family members. >> rachel: right. >> coming to the united states is sometimes the last place they want to go because they don't know anybody. and it seems counterintuitive, but i can tell you from my experience, many refugees want to go closer to home because many believe if the problems are fixed, they can go back home and they want to. we should allow people in the region and the u.n. should be stepping up to stay close at home in case they can never go

back. >> rachel: really quickly, ric, i only have a few seconds left with you. i want to bring this up your ted cruz brought this up and reuters is reporting this a sex trafficking angle to some of these refugees we are finding older men, some of the young women are reporting that they have been forced to marry these men. these are child rights. this is happening and what should the government be doing about this when they encounter this? speak with the biggest shock is we are finding this out once they are in the united states, not vetted in kuwait or germany. this vetting system has completely broken down. we should be asking these questions before they get into the united states and stopping them from coming in. but unfortunately, they are just pushing through people and telling officers to use a hunch rather than documentation. >> rachel: well, that is called child sexual assault in our country. thank you, ambassador for an outcome appreciate it. >> thank you.

are so happy with this administration and this border crisis because they are the ones reaping the benefits and they are being funded by this administration. >> rachel: absolutely and you are right, tomi, they are absolutely heartless and there was a story about a little girl, live years old crossing the border with her mom. the little toddler brother caring him on her back. look at these photos. heartbreaking and though cartel abandoned them. she ended up passing away and so did her mother and the border patrol found them through a phone call from them on before they died. and this is not a compassionate policy. they clearly thought that the borders were open and that they could make it. but there are not many border patrol to save them because they are either out in detention centers processing people. and there were more people than the border patrol can handle. >> absolutely. a lot of people don't understand that border patrol is certainly serving a humanitarian mission

school and socialization is enormous. we are seeing suicide and depression. it is just so cruel. we need to let children be children and leave. >> rachel: in carroll county, teachers that a $1600 bonus check from the covid money we gave them. and if they are not opening up school, should the teachers unions and the school district have to give the money back to the american people? >> yeah, we know, rachel, how that will go. but i mean, or teachers unions, i should say, holding our kids hostage for nearly two years now and frankly as a parent, i've had enough of this. i get it that kids aren't at risk. the science tells us the spirit but i get it some teachers might feel like "i feel i might be at risk." you know what, we have been held hostage for your fears for 18 months and given you everything you wanted and made schools as safe as possible without
