"fox news primetime" hosted by lawrence jones starts right now. hey, lawrence. >> lawrence: thank you, bret. good evening and welcome to "fox news primetime." ♪ ♪ >> lawrence: i'm lawrence jones. and tonight democrats are fudging the numbers again on the nationwide crime surge. and the mainstream media, of course, is running with it. the new study by a left wing think tank claims republicans are lying, crime is down which makes for a juicy headline for outlets like nbc. but buried deep in the report is one very important stat that they, for some reason, did put in all the headlines. murder is skyrocketing. according to the same study, it was up by 31.4% last year.

so the question is why are they hiding that from us? well, high crime means democrats anti-police agenda isn't working. neither is the progressive d.a. strategy of releasing violent criminals into the street. or the liberal judges granting bail to just about everyone. these policies as you know resort into chaos and will show you. and new york a mom was kicked down an escalator after having the audacity to say excuse nia stranger. look at this. and days later, a 70-year-old -- 77-year-old woman was assaulted by this scum scum bag in broad daylight. she was then robbed of her purse and her bible. do you think he took the time to read the bible? meanwhile, this past weekend at least 64 people were shot in chicago. including the firefighter and his 15-year-old niece divine o'neil. they were attending a child's birthday party. so kid are being shot at

question. voters, i think, are very loudly saying that they have had enough. in texas, as you know, it's crazy to look at the lawlessness happening at the border and hear what the administration and not just federal lawmakers but also what some democratic lawmakers in the republic of texas had have been saying about vaccinations and masks yet you see what's happening at the border. as it relates too to violent crime and homicides like this, what do people think is going to happen after they promote not just the divisiveness and hatred of one another, seeing issues where people should be, but also a disrespect of that quasisocial contract that we have with having police come and protect and serve our cities and our towns. it's just crazy to see this. people have had enough. this is what happens when you say that you want to defund the police and you want to undermine all confidence and trust in authority and law making. this is the end result. they got what they wanted. >> lawrence: let's brake that

down, kira, the original conversation was supposed to be about equal justice and application under the law. somewhere down the line they decided let's release the violent criminals. if you want to assault granny, that's okay. if your state right now, if you want to rob a store as long as it's less than 1,000 bucks, it's totally fine. >> yeah. it's not about equal application of the law, lawrence. it never has been. it's just about whatever the democrats feel is going to move their agenda forward. at the expense of the average american citizen. i mean, you look at what is happening in california here. the democrats don't care about rising crime rates. the fact that anybody can walk into a store and walk out with $1,000 in product and they prosecution. they don't care. it's one of the reasons why we are going through a recall election today. these people live in bubbles. i got accidentally bumped up to first class the other day. i rarely fly first class and it was great. i was sitting up there going, you know what?

it's no wonder that so many elitists in this country and elitist politicians keep telling us things are just fine. everything is okay. because from first class everything is okay. you know, when you live behind the gates, when you live in a gated community, when you live and work behind the doors of the capitol building, life is pretty darn dandy. but for the rest of us who are living real life, it is not okay at all no matter what happens with the recall election today, lawrence, everyone needs to pay attention to the fact as dana said americans have had enough. and if they don't speak today in this election, they're going to speak in 2022. democrats know that. that's why you see their messaging so skewed on this. >> lawrence: they should be worried. dana, you know, i live in new york city. i miss texas where you live with my family. but it's hard to get a gun out here. all the criminals have guns. but your mayor, from your home city. the problem is the gun. that's what she told the

st. louis post that if we really want to get this gun violence problem under control then we got to start making new law. is that going to solve the problem? because from my vantage point, there is a lot of straw purchases being made and a lot of filing of serial numbers off of guns in new york city. >> no, you are right. we miss you. i know you are in no. god love you. you can't hardly get anything up there but in st. louis, this is crazy. so i lived in downtown st. louis. i can see the arch from my backyard. i could smell the hops and barley and everything else heiser bush. when my kids went to play out in the street and ride their bike, everybody felt cool can that happening because they knew i was armed. we had a drug bend that opened up at the end of my street. it wasn't the gun that was doing it criminals kept getting rereleased from bad prosecutors and weak judges, a judicial rot. in fact, it was my side arm that

made sure everything was cool when the kids were outside playing and that nothing crazy went down. so, no, that mayor is completely disconnected from reality. but as kira said, she probably lives, well, actually she does live in a gated community. >> lawrence: i want to talk about that, kira, once the argument this was happening in the big city. now some of this crime is starting to make it to the burbs. do you think it's going to get the democrats' attention when the people that, you know, pay the majority of the taxes start making their voices heard because it was fine when it was just, you know, the people that looked like me and you and our communities being destroyed. but now it's making its way to the burbs do you think there will be a change. >> i live in the beautiful suburbs of orange county. i was talking to my daughter about a shooting at the local mall. when we moved here 10 years ago

my town was on the list of safest cities in america. now we are starting to see homeless meth addicts wander into our suburbs. we are starting to see a lot of crime pop up, a lot of petty crime and, of course, more violent crimes like shootings and these are people who aren't used to those things and so again not to be single minded. this is why we are in recall election because this stuff has reached the suburbs and people are paying attention. you are right. i don't mean to be accusatory because everybody is really focused on where they live. so it doesn't mean you are insensitive. but it just means that sometimes we don't see things until we experience them. >> lawrence: that's right. >> now more americans are experiencing this than ever. after the summer of black lives matter. not doing anything about violence in the streets and violence towards taxpayer and small businesses. i think, again, to go back to what dana said in our first segment, americans have had enough. democrats are seeing it. and the reason why they keep switching their messaging is

known what happens when you give the taliban $64 million. they will just keep asking for more and we can already start to see what's happening. as those millions are not enough for the terror group. their foreign minister now feeling that there is no love from the biden administration telling reporters, quote: america is a big country. they need to have a big heart. we already left the taliban billions in weapons when we surrendered. and now they are asking for cold hard cash. but, more money wouldn't just fund the terror group's quest for revenge on our foreign allies ask the human rights chief who raised the same concern yesterday. >> my hope is as we credible allegations of reprisal killings of a number of former ansf personnel multiple allegations of the taliban conducting house-to-house searches looking for specific officials and people who corporate u.s.

security forces. >> lawrence: why are we giving the taliban all this money? let's ask former green beret and afghan war veteran joey johnny jones. joey, thanks so much for being here. i want to go straight to you, first. what sense does this make you? went there, you risked your life to fight for this country. already turned over the weapons all the materials there now they want more. >> this is consistent with this administration and democrats theology. you beg and buy. that's how you get compliance. that's how you get what you want. obviously that's not what president trump did. but, in their idea, you know, how do they get your vote? they give you more government handouts. how do they get the taliban to not kill them while they sit as ducks on a flight line in kabul, they beg them to not do it. and so that's their position of strength is you either their pocketbook are on their knees begging and that's where we are. $64 million might be a drop in

the bucket but that's about 30,000 to do so every gold star family someone who died in that war and that's about $3,200 for everyone that was catastrophically injured in that war. it's real money. it's our money. we are effectively paying it as american citizens. and any money we spend in afghanistan should go through nonprofits we trust not a government that wanted to kill us. that's pretty simple and pretty common sense. >> lawrence: so, joe, thank you for your service, brother. we were told by the experts, you know, the people that know everything, that we shouldn't be concerned because the taliban, although they are kind of our enemy, they also have another enemy that is also our enemy, which is isis and we shouldn't be concerned about them. did we forget they were still the enemy? >> i think we did. i think there is two things at play here. the taliban can command and we continue to give them $64 million and millions and millions more dollars because they have u.s. citizens that they can hold as hostages. so we are essentially paying out a ransom and putting a bow tie on it and calling it something

different. also the pentagon, the adults in the room, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff included, they want desperately to find a new way to transfer wealth from the military industrial complex into afghanistan. biden, in essence, as poorly as that withdrawal went, he ended their party. so now they have to find a new way to we have a counter-terrorism partner here with the taliban that we can use against isis. we did the same thing with the iranian controlled government in iraq when the iraqi military surrendered and handed all their weapons to isis. it became a booming industry for the military industrial complex. that's what's at play here. the leaked documents from the bob woodward book said one of mark milley's biggest fears was that trump was going to end the war in afghanistan in january of 2021. that's tells you everything you need to know. >> lawrence: i can't wait to get to that later in the program it's clear these folks were working against the commander-in-chief which i think is treason. >> absolutely. >> lawrence: joey, i want to get to this because i think it was important. ted cruz pressed tony blinken about this handing over the names of, you know, american

citizens and our allies to the taliban. i want you to listen to this and react. >> did the state department give the taliban a list or multiple lists of americans and/or afghans that we wanted out? >> those reports and the idea that we would do anything to endanger our citizens or anyone else at a time when we are trying to save their lives is flat out wrong. in limited instances, where we were seeking to get a bus or a group of people through a check point, we gave them manifest to the people at the check point to demonstrate that those people were. >> roughly how many names were on the list you gave? >> it doesn't matter because they all. >> dozens? hundreds, thousands? give us some order of magnitude. >> this naneld a dozen. >> dozens? in your testimony it wasn't hundreds. divu give them thousands of names. >> no, actually we did not. >> lawrence: joey, i thought they didn't do it, then they did it and then it doesn't matter. these are the people that are

running our foreign policy. and we're expecting them to make the negotiation to get these americans back? >> yeah, the real irony in that answer he goes we did nothing to endanger the lives of americans while we were rescuing them from the things we did to endanger their lives to begin with is the rest of that sentence. he started to answer that question before ted cruz started to pinpoint down. he started to say basically the names they gave them they put on planes and so that's why it didn't matter. if he gave them 100 names and all 100 bodies went on planes, that's 100 families. that's 100 parents, 100 brothers, 100 sisters, 100, perhaps, kids still in afghanistan the taliban knows who their family is and they could go after them for retribution and revenge. the idea that this did not endanger lives is pretty laughable because i have got buddies in afghanistan right now trying to get a lot of those families out because the interpreter may be here in the states but the mom and dad are running for their lives. brother and sister are running for their lives and

unfortunately those people haven't earned the rights to cop come to this country staying in afghanistan they will die. veterans there now trying to get them to third party hosts because they are in danger. this government of the taliban, yeah, they may not be friends with isis-k but they are sure as heck not friends with us. they will do a lot to cause us grief and unfortunately those turn into partisan debate rather than action or doing anything to make our country safer. >> they keep making the argument the administration which is so disingenuous. all the people thatted to leave they could have left. we warned everyone. you just left americans. do you think people want to be in this mess? i think it's so insulting to the american public and the people that laid down their lives for this country. thanks, guys. joey, joe, thank you so much for being on the program. >> thank you. >> thank you. >> lawrence: now turning to bombshell revelation donald trump insisted people inside his administration were working to undermine his presidency and it turns out he was right. as a new book from bob woodward and robert o. kosta reveals

chairman of the joint chief of staff mark milley fought to undermine trump while he served as commander-in-chief. millie had at least two phone calls with his counterpart in the chinese government where he looked to reassure the communist nation that the u.s. wouldn't be launching an attack. calls are already growing for millie to be fired over these offenses and if true, he has a lot to answer for in two weeks when he testifies before congress, let's bring in former white house press secretary and co-host of outnumbered kayleigh mcenany. kayleigh, i definitely wanted you to be on the program to answer to this because you were in the administration. did you all suspect this was going on? >> no. i mean, look, it was eye opening when we walked to the church. i was with president trump st. john's church we all remember when it burned in that riot. i walked with general milley. i walked with president trump to that church. general milley was there. he happily obliged in that movement. and then the day after apologized and said that he shouldn't have done it.

so, certainly that was eye-opening. but, lawrence, you know, i have got to say this. my jaw dropped open today when i saw this reporting. i hope it's not true and i say i hope it's not true because i don't trust the reporting of bob woodward, unlike most journalists, liberal journalists who just buy it hook, line and sinker, i don't. i question it. but, if this is true, lawrence, if this is true, that in the very oval office i was sitting in that general milley was talking to the commander-in-chief, president trump and outside of those meetings was back channeling to china saying i will let you know if there is ever an attack on you? i'm paraphrasing there? if that was happening, that is aiding and abetting the enemy. there is a word we have for that i won't say it because i don't want to get there yet because i don't trust the reporting of bob woodward but that is simply stunning in every sense of the word. >> lawrence: kayleigh we know leaks were happening obama when he had leaks he went after his leakers, we still don't know who the leakers were.

actually we know one of them vindman who has already said and we got a tweet from him. that millie needs to resign. >> yeah. exactly. because civilians control the military. the civilian commander-in-chief not the military general who is not only back channeling to china but also saying, you know, buck the orders if there was ever an order on the nuclear front. you know, buck those orders is essentially is what he was saying. lawrence, i have to ask, the guy who says that he should have been leading the way, he is the right one on foreign policy on national security. while i do have this reporting that i talked to a very high level intelligence official, who told me this, he said he sat in the oval. i was not in this meeting. but he was asked by president trump how long would it take for afghanistan to fall if there was not an interim government in place, a coalition government? that high level intelligence official said very quickly, mr. president. to responded it would fall in

two days. he said this in front of general milley who then went onto the biden administration to orchestrating the devastating fall of afghanistan where 13 service members died. i trust the guy who said afghanistan is going to fall in two days not the guy who sat in the meeting and failed to communicate that information to the next commander-in-chief who then oversaw the fall of afghanistan and the devastating images we all saw. >> lawrence: not just that kayleigh, as you have noted before, this is the guy that made the call just the other day where they now got the wrong guy and they targetinged civilian. >> all knowing. >> yes. it's the guy who called it a righteous strike, a righteous strike which keep in mind president biden, this is his administration, the righteous strike that killed a humanitarian aide worker the "new york times" reporting and seven children and the guy was carrying water bottles but, yet, they target him as if he is an isis-k member. we have more to the story to come out. we have got to make sure that

"new york times" report something true. but you are exactly right. he is green lighted the right to strike that ended in the death of seven children. >> lawrence: you know, kayleigh, i know scientists but i believe my eyes, all i can say is i know a difference from the millie in the trump administration and then when they walked over to the church to now. it seems like there has been a little flip-flopping going on millie. am i missing something? >> no. it certainly does. and, lawrence, i learned this the hard way. you know, we hear about the deep state and, you know, the folks over at liberal news networks say it doesn't exist it does exist, lawrence. i communicated with the deep state in the hallways. i can tell you the people very nice to your face aftermath that they dr. fauci for decades making wrong decisions for the american people, you know, on fauci's part saying masks work. they don't work, you know, trying to save masks for our

chairman of the joint chiefs, to resign. do you agree with him? >> i have been very disappointed in general milley. i mean, we need a military leader. we need a chairman of the joint chiefs. based on his behavior in the last year or two, we don't have a military leader. we got a politician. >> lawrence: do you believe he was going against the commander-in-chief, president trump? and going to the chinese? >> well, according to bob woodward in the book, yes. and we need to hold hearings and get to the bottom of that. now,. >> lawrence: so should he resign? >> my democratic friends are going to probably sweep that under the rug, but i'm ready to hold hearings. i think general milley has a lot of explaining to do and i think he ought to stop bellowing and honking on like a goose about white rage and actually try to make our country more secure. >> lawrence: you know, senator, i hate to continue to press you on this.

lawrence lawrence polls in california are closing in a little more than three hours and the future of the state's education system is on the line. for school children and parent the outcome would determine whether or not they spend another year under the control of teacher's union and the potential of school closures. gavin newsom is all for it. but his republican opponent larry elder has been a champion for school choice. he believes in giving less power to the unions and more power to the parents. and because of this stance, he is gaining unlikely ally. joining me now the former democrat state senate leader who is endorsing larry elder gloria row mirra. gloria, it's a honor to have you on this program tonight. >> thank you. >> lawrence: thank you. i have to ask you, why was education the breaking point for you? >> my mother had a sixth grade level of education. i earned a ph.d. and ultimately chaired the senate education

committee. to me, education is a civil rights issue. and especially in california with over 6 million children in the public school system, i take a look at the outcomes. and we find' 5% of latino children cannot do math at grade level standard. about 80% for african-american youth. that was before the pandemic. and now they are trying to teach our youth that 4, 2 plus 2 doesn't even equal 4. to me i believe school choice is what breaks the chains of poverty. i finally quote tired of waiting for governor after governor, legislature, after legislature to do something right for especially children of color. but really all children, all families in california. that's why i gravitated to support the recall and be a especially larry elder. >> lawrence: you know, school choice broke the cycle for me and my family. but i have got to ask you, whatt

happens if gavin newsom remains the governor? >> well, again, too, what happens is we're going to see same old, same old. essentially, sadly, and i'm a democrat. i have personally seen the hostage taking, the political hostage taking in sacramento. i have seen personally whether it was by the humongous campaign contributions the outside influence of how policy is written, basically no budget gets decided without the input of the cta, the california teacher's association. so what happens is basically it's like groundhog day except when it comes to our school children it's a very serious negative effect. as a democrat, i really am disappointed in a democratic party that purports to stand for the rights of minorities of working class communities and, yet, it fails on the most important issue for us education. i think the schools will be shut down again. we're going to continue to see the captive audience through
