the fda pushed back on joe biden's plan to inject us with a covid booster shot. our so-called health experts have used the rise in hospitalizations as their main argument for the vaccine recently reporting that since last january over 58,000 children were in the hospital due to the virus. shows us that those numbers canning vastly overcounted. according to the study between the months of january and march of 2021, 45%. 45 of kids hospitalized for covid were actually admitted for something completely different. and just happened to test positive. yet, they count. joining me now to react former health and human services admiral brett giroir roar. they're using kids. we knew it was coming. now they are coming out with their argument saying that kids will have to be vaccinated.

you know that's where they're going. does the science back that up? >> well, thanks for having me on. we do know that at whatever level we are seeing more cases in children, probably about 250,000 a week probably .05% become hospitalized. the vast majority of children recover without any republicans. we also know that most of the severe cases occur in people are pre-existing conditions. so these are risk factors that we have to look at. and, remember, the study reported today by pfizer sure, it shows that children 5 to 11 had an immune response but the safety was only on about 16 or 1700 children. so a relatively small number. so i think we have a lot of work to do. the fda has a lot of work to do before we automatically rubber stamp this for children. it looks promising but we need to be cautious when the numbers are that low in the study.

which is putting it in relatable terms. if you are over the age of 65, your chances of dying of covid are higher than they're if you are under the age of 65. if you are under the age of 65, the chances of dying of covid are about the same of dying on your commute to work. and if you are over the age of 65, they are about the same as a professional truck driver. we like to make those comparisons so people have some relatable real world understanding as to what the risks truly are. >> pete: when you poll people, especially people who watch other networks wall-to-wall with fear they think those numbers 10, 20, 30%. when they're actually 1 or less than 1%. one thing i'm hung up on, natural immunities. >> we have little studies one out of israel when you factor in natural immunity, how does that change the equation. >> it changes dramatically, when we look at the studies that are there, we find that the robustness of natural immunity that is you have already have covid, carries with you for a
