>> three big stories is our starting with president biden trying to put a positive spin on the september jobs report. >> the economy adding 145,000 jobs far below the 500,000 the analyst predicted. as supply chain shortages are battling the economy helping lure the presidents poll numbers. welcome to fox's life i am arthel neville. >> thank you for joining us on the saturday i am eric shawn.

>> the big stories we are following is our authority stepping up their search for brian laundrie in the four-day nature preserve as investigators are offering in details not only his disappearance but on their search for new clues. the surge of migrants continues some have stopped across the southern border intercountry next could detain more than 650 people packed into tractor-trailers this is the top biden the administration officials traveled to mexico city yesterday to discuss security of mexican officials but will that stop the flow. fox team coverage bill melugin in texas with a wave migrants and what's expected. steve harrigan in northport florida on the manhattan for brian laundrie let's go to marco meadows live in delaware where the president is spending his weekend. >> good afternoon to you it was
11:02 am
fascinating one job reports from the labor department but two very different reactions based on the political spectrum there is no doubt that president biden is facing a few headwinds on his economic agenda we seen that an issue with congress and now the data that shows us exactly where we are the labor department in the month of september employers added 194,000 jobs that is now strong but economists were expecting that number to be a lot larger they were expecting 500,000 jobs will be added last month we had a chance to break it down and see where these jobs were added throughout the country and of course it gives us a different snapshot, if you look at the numbers 74000 in jobs and leisure and hospitality from 60000 added to professional and business services there were job losses in the month of september that includes local and state education as well as healthcare. >> we've added 5 million jobs to the economy, 500,000 over the last three months certainly we know we have work to do there is
11:03 am
no question i'm knocking to sugarcoat what we have to do but we have more to do. >> the polls seem to indicate that that is the case, the survey that came out from earlier this month shows 53% of people surveyed disapprove of how the president is handling the job comparing that to 38% approved we have seen the poll numbers continue to slide down throughout the year ever since he took office in january and what is interesting the white house was convinced once the pandemic was more under control once vaccination rates have increases the number of cases they could focus on the domestic agenda but we have seen that agenda get stalled in congress earlier today the president addressed the democrat virtually for the fall dnc meeting and he basically said the party was united in 2020 and it will have to be united in 2022 if they will keep the majority with the house and the senate. when we look at the poll numbers how the president is doing not just overall the immigration of what's going on with the economy
11:04 am
and even coronavirus it shows the president still has an uphill battle helping democrats going into the upcoming elections. eric: in a few moments we will talk to nancy mason about what the job numbers mean, what the biden administration trillion dollars spending plan means and how that affects that. arthel: right now details in the search for brian laundrie police confirm to fox news the cell phone that he and gabby petito were using during the cross-country trip have not been located crusade the water is receding for the search for brian laundrie enters the fourth week. steve harrigan back on the story in northport florida. >> that is right at 24000-acre nature preserve most of it is covered with water that water has receded considerably making
11:05 am
the manhattan somewhat easier but they have said there is no sighting of brian laundrie and no campsites discovered the police on the defensive saying they did everything possible to keep an eye on brian laundrie in the days before he disappeared early in september they said they had him under legal surveillance doing everything that they could this small community has gotten tremendous attention a lot of people driving by to get a look at the house there was even a flame overhead with a banner saying bring injustice for gabby it's quite a bit of attention but the mayor still contends the community is pulling together. >> this community has faced tragedy before and they always rally around in support of each other because we are a community. >> there is a makeshift memorial for gabby list taken a hit from elements they plan to turn that

into something permanent in the days ahead. back to you. arthel: steve harrigan live in northport. thank you so much. eric: now to the humanitarian crisis, mexican officials had detained more than 600 migrants packed in several trucks this comes as a secretary of state entity lincoln met with the president of mexico yesterday to hammer out a security agreement with the country, will it stop the flow, bill melugin in texas with the very latest there. >> good afternoon the people who continue to benefit the most from the border crisis are the cartels and human smugglers making a killing of all the people trying to get here, you just mention this is in northeast mexico where the national guard encountered 650 central american migrants who were smuggled up to the u.s. border they were in storage
11:07 am
units and trucks that were being driven up, the national guard found these people because they heard sounds coming from one of the trailers they used x-rays and found all the people hiding inside 198 and accompany children alone children inside the trailers and ultimately four people got arrested for human smuggling but more than 650 people out where we are we went out with republican senator out of tennessee marsha blackburn was getting a tour of the area she got taken to the hotspots. cueto president of the national border patrol council, may i call you art to make it easy? >> of course you can it is vice president i don't want the president getting mad. arthel: you can call me art as well, we'll get to the border wall and a second but based on your knowledge of the meeting and the updated record was there any constructive conversation and communication did this meeting make a difference will it make a difference. >> i don't know what went on in the meeting but since 2007 to now the united states has given mexico over $3 billion to help with the violence in the cartels. at this point not much is helped and wondering where the money went and we assisted in training and helping them with how to fix some of their own border problems but when you see so many individuals across mexico
11:12 am
make their way to our southern border and into the united states he wonder what have they have been doing and that's part of the problem this is nothing more than a dog and pony show in order to distract people from what is happening at the border and you have to remember one of the biggest drug cartels in mexico was formed by individuals within their own military that defected and many were framed by the united states themselves. arthel: besides following the money that 30 been given to mexico what do you think should be on the to do list that secretary and attorney general will take back to washington in terms of immediate work in midway and long work orders. >> they have to concentrate on something in the united states they have to concentrate on training agents in our own law enforcement using the money and things that actually work.
11:13 am
you hear so much talk about the border wall it is something that has worked it helps deter individuals from entering our country and stop individuals and assist agents that are working the line in order to make it through the areas the apprehend those that try to cross at the same time you have to fix it with policies you have to bring back the remaining mexico you need to get rid of the initiative to want these individuals to come into the united states. the u.s. has created a magnet for illegal immigrants to enter the united states and at the same time the cartels have taken advantage because they know what
11:14 am
they can do and where they can distract people and that helps them get their products are crossed. so much heroin, but no coming across all because this administration is too busy doing dog and pony shows in mexico or the border or kamala harris coming down el paso and grabbing lunch and heading back saying there's no problem instead of seeing the issues that are happening in caring about the people living in america, that's the future of her country sit down and say this is what happens this is what needs to be done forget past politics and their hatred towards alaska administration. >> listen the whole idea that we have to get this problem fixed and certainly it is sitting on their desk we understand that. that said what percentage of the solution relies on cooperation on congress is that where were going to find roadblocks to any solution? >> we are finding roadblocks everywhere, secretary mallorca needs to speak up, they see what is happening there down here all the time they have direct lines they see what agents are going through this administration is
11:15 am
worried about mandating agents to vaccines knowing summer gonna lead the agency then they are protecting our borders. that's where the problem is there more constraints with having agents lose their jobs then removing agents and people in this country illegally. arthel: what should they do right now if they could pick up the phone and call the president and the vice president would you tell them. >> bring back remaining mexico policy because it worked, that is a big issue they need to send immigration judges and asylum to the border so they can fast-track these cases and see that their false claims instead of allowing people to stay in the united states for many years, never seen their cases and the ones that are seen in nor going to the court and get released into the united states. that's what needs to be done. arthel: that is a good list i hope that they hear you. thank you. arthel: in washington the showdown over the spending rages
