"fox news primetime" hosted by lawrence jones right now. hey, lawrence. >> lawrence: welcome to "fox news primetime" i'm lawrence jones in new york. tonight we start with the kyle rittenhouse verdict. the media spent the last few weeks insisting none of the facts in the case mattered. to them only important thing was the color of rittenhouse's skin. >> let's just do the thought experiment. just imagine rittenhouse is a young black teenager. >> if he were black, would he be free now. >> no. he wouldn't be alive now. >> imagine if kyle rittenhouse was an 18 or 17-year-old black
4:01 pm
kid. >> well, that's a different issue. >> with a gun. >> let's talk about that. >> how would people feel? >> so let's talk about that. see, if the liberal media were actual journalists, they wouldn't have to ask what if this happened to a black man. we know. look no further than the story of andrew coffee the fourth. let me do their job and tell america what happened. in march of 2017, andrew coffee was asleep in his home when a swat team awrid a search warrant for his father. when police detonated a flash bang device before entering. coffee woke up thinking he was being robbed. being a gun owner, coffee opened fire looking to defend his home. when police returned fire, and his girlfriend woods was tragically caught in the crossfire and killed by police. now, each side claimed the other shot first. but it was coffee who was eventually charged with second degree murder and three counts of attempted murder of law enforcement. after more than four years of
4:02 pm
legal proceedings, coffee name was cleared on friday when he was found not guilty of murder and attempted murder charges. coffee was still found guilty of weapons possession charges and will face sentencing for that but here's the important part. that decision came down the same day after rittenhouse verdict verdict everyone on the left ignored it and have to ask yourself why. we know. that's because andrew coffee story doesn't fit into their narrative. liberals want you to think that white people can get away with literal murder while there is no justice for black man in america, that the court system would go out of its way to destroy a black man with a gun. but andrew coffee's story blows up entire narrative. they chose to just ignore it the left wants to paint black americans as victims and say they don't believe in the second amendment or self-defense. we know that's not true. we have been defending ourselves in our home for years. now, according to the national
4:03 pm
sports foundation, from 2019 to 2020, there was a 58.2% increase in gun purchases among black people. so as more and more black americans arm themselves, andrew coffee once again goes against the left's narrative. here was a black man with a gun defending his home and the justice system cleared his name. but that didn't matter to the media. they are too busy trying to disarm black america. they ignore andrew coffee's story. colorblind justice doesn't move the outrage needle for the left. but racism does. the left profits by dividing america by race. and they don't care about the damage they are doing. just listen to former nba player qualm may brown call it out. >> they made some political that was or shouldn't have been political. >> want to tie it into something black. want to tie it into something bigger. so we can have people come out and march and get checks off of
4:04 pm
little teenager's back. >> a bunch of people getting paid to push this racism. they don't have nothing to say. the only thing they get paid off of talking about how racist it is. they got good cars, good houses, good everything telling you how bad it is. >> it was graphic but he called it the way he saw it here to respond son anies who citizen the host of did say podcast. nobody wants a response of what happened that day. >> well, the people that are asking if this was a black boy. let's actually look at that what if this was a black boy and say he shot two white boys. they would not be putting it on as their front headline story. they would not be following it as intensely as they are now. and if definitely if the two -- the two people that were killed by were black, we definitely wouldn't here about that. we would have to wait until monday morning when they compile
4:05 pm
all the facts together for the chicago style this is what happened over the weekend where they never say the names of the people who were actually killed. so, all of this is a false conversation again set up for us to be fighting about race. i want to kind of twist it a little bit. since we both can agree because you have people on the right and on the left, both are saying well, what if it was a white boy in this case or what if it was a black boy in this case? how about what if we decide that there is enough evidence to say that there is a problem with our system the way that it is? you have your examples, we have our examples. but do you know what the constant is in both examples? government. so how about we take the opportunity to stop fighting with each other long enough to actually look at what we think is the central problem here and that is the discretion that government has in its executive and judicial capacity to put people in position where they are defending their lives for what should be looked at as cases of self-defense.
4:06 pm
and i think that would be a much more productive conversation for both races and it would actually get government back in its place and off of our necks. >> lawrence: let's go there son sonny. my first job was in juvenile court. i have seen how prosecutors can twist evidence and not do what's right for the public interest. we saw them suppress evidence. we saw them hide witnesses. we saw them try to violate constitutional rights here. we saw them say people can't be silent in a court of law with self-incrimination. we saw them try to blast legal counsel in this case if seemed like some of the justice advocates didn't take a moment to say we have been telling you this for years. instead, they divided to side with some movement that is not actually for black people. >> no, also, if you look at
4:07 pm
statistics because the right likes to throw the statistics out at black people when they talk about this. this plays into this. who has the discretion to charge? who has the discretion to actually prosecute? what tactics they use and how do does those tactics influence what you look at and regurgitate in statistical form. i would question the right of understanding why are you throwing out these statistics. for black america, i would say this is the time for you to choose a what is it that you want? what do you actually want? do you want white people punished like we have been punished or do you want us to stop being punished? this is the moment of choosing. what is more important? fighting for what you are against or what you are actually for? and if we are going to be people that say we have been abused by this justice system and the way it has treated us, then the answer to that is to actually get a system that fairly treats
4:08 pm
us, not one unfairly treating others so we feel some kind of reciprocity with them. no, i want justice for all. and i want it for all of us. black people we are at a place where we have to choose it first. >> lawrence: that's right. equal justice under the law not mob justice. consistency matters. thank you, sonnie johnson. kyle rittenhouse is about to break his silence for the hirst time since his acquittal and sit down with tucker carlson. kyle will detail what was at stake. >> it wasn't kyle rittenhouse on trial in wisconsin. it was the right to self-defense on trial. and if i was convicted no one would be able -- no one would ever be privileged to defend their life against attackers. >> lawrence: that is a must-watch. be sure to catch that interview with "tucker carlson tonight" at 8:00 p.m. after this show. here to react now they as i
