tv   Justice With Judge Jeanine  FOX News  January 15, 2022 6:00pm-7:00pm PST

6:00 pm
i feel fearless in my skin. >> judge, what we know is there are three hostages inside the congregation beth israel in
6:01 pm
colleyville, texas. one hostage was released uninjured, to their family. they didn't need any medical attention. this is great news. we know the governor greg abbott tweeted, prayers are being answered. one of the hogs tadges has been released uninjured. i talked with the colleyville mayor and offered the full assistance of the state of texas. one of the hostages is a rabbi. that's rabbi charlie cintron walker. he's known as having a wife and two daughters. he's known for his inner faith efforts with muslims in texas, and somebody who is very welcoming. this is what some people said down there. this is the vice president of
6:02 pm
the anti-defamation league who spoke about the rabbi. >> we are concerned about rabbi charlie walker. this is happening literally in the backyard. reporter: we know this was a live real shabbat. a ridge service that began at 10:00 a.m. local time as it iser say day. 10:1 a phone call came in to local police. but the live stream stayed up until 2:00 local time. in that live stream people were able to hear this man sometimes angry ranting and raving about islam, his sister, how he has children and he expects to die today. that's what we heard from that live stream. we also know there are
6:03 pm
connections to what it is he meant. we know from a law enforcement source that he has interests in aafia siddiqui, quote-unquote lady al qaeda. we know the lawyer for aafia siddiqui, lady al qaeda who is being held for 86 years in a federal penitentiary for trying to assassinate american soldiers. a lawyer for aafia siddiqui said she condemned this action. a blood brother of aafia siddiqui said he is no relation. all we know is the hostage taker is interested in this person. the statement from cair read we want to make it clear that the
6:04 pm
hostage taker is not aafia siddiqui's brother. she and her family do that stand by this act. this has been an ongoing situation. the fbi crisis negotiators are continuing to do what they do, judge, trying to talk this person down and save the lives of three people still inside the synagogue. judge jeanine: there are reports he said everyone will dine he himself is ready to die? >> from what we understand, it was muffled live stream. he said he was prepared to die and he didn't want to hurt anyone. that was the reporting from the lone star telegram.
6:05 pm
>> do we know anything about the one male whose take that's been released? reporter: nothing. only that he was uninjured. and made available to his family. that's decent news. judge jeanine: let's bring in former fbi deputy assistant director danny colson. thank you for being with us tonight. first of all, you created a whole hostage unit within the fbi. you created it and commanded it. let's go through some of the psychology of what we are experiencing and what's going on with the players. this is a situation that can be very explosive, it's volatile. but we have one hostage release.
6:06 pm
what does that tell you? >> we have to look at the history of these guys. one of their techniques is to take hostages. act like they are negotiating. they do that to delay. and while they delay oftentimes they will prepare for carnage. they want to be in a position to kill as many people as possible. they have to set it up. they are equally as familiar with how to do these things as i am. more, probably. i don't want this guy to become a martyr. it has to be between the commander's choice and the negotiators to decide are we going to get these guys out? or do we have to go in and get them out. these agents know. they make the wrong choice here,
6:07 pm
they will be second guessed forever. we need to pray for them, for the hostages, let's get this thing done. one of the guests on your network talked about the guy gets tired. they come here with amphetamines and nuts to energize themselves. they can go a long time. hopefully fatigue will take over and this guy will say i'm done and get out of it. judge jeanine: you talk about how time benefits the hostage taker. it should also benefit law enforcement because they have a chance to understand what's going on to get intelligence from the one hostage who has been released to find out what the layout is, to get the blueprints of the building. >> that's 100% right. it works in favor of both of us. the most significant thing has
6:08 pm
bent release of the hostage. we'll get important information from him. does he have a gun? does he have a knife? they need to know that. he's talking he's going to die tonight. i don't want to see it become a suicide by cop thing. but i also don't want him to kill hostages. >> but the fact that he let one hostage out who had the ability for close to 6 hours to assess what was going on. he knows that person will gift intelligence the hostage taker wants law enforcement to know. >> they don't think like you do. they don't think like we do. he may be directed by somebody. there may be somebody calling
6:09 pm
the shots. often in these situation, maybe in pakistan or someone else is telling him what to do by cell phone. especially with pakistanis. judge jeanine: danny colson we love having you on. thank you so much. joining me, senator lindsey graham. i want to tell everyone you have a bandage on your head. you had surgery because you get too much sun in south carolina playing a lot of golf or doing whatever you have to do. this is a concerning scenario we are confront with. what are your thoughts? >> i want to thank the people at walter reed at the dermatology center for taking good care of me. if you are in the sun, get checked. we live in dangerous times.
6:10 pm
but tonight is your last show. you are moving to the he five. >> i'm thrilled to have you on, senator. we were going to have a different show. but this is the news. i just want to congratulate you on a heck of a ride. here is my message. 10, 11 years later, conservatism is on the rise, lib rainfall is on the run. why is that? the taliban are back in charge of afghanistan. we have the highest inflation in 40 years. we have had the most illegal immigrants crossing in the history of the country and crime is rampant. the biden administration had a heck after terrible year. from a political perspective, donald trump is more viable than any other republicans.
6:11 pm
i'm stunned that donald trump is the most viable candidate in 2024 in either party and palsy matters. the republican party is in great shape. i worry about the safety and security of people in our country and pray for the people in texas. i appreciate tall you have done these weekends into form us on what's going on in the world. >> tonight isn't about me, i'm concerned about the fact that for the first time i'm hearing about al qaeda. i'm hearing about the queen, the lady al qaeda. and dr. aafia siddiqui educated in american universities. now we have a hostage situation in -- in a synagogue. it's like the first place they go is to the jews.
6:12 pm
it's been like this for thousands of years. >> this is a religious war. what did i say on your show when we withdraw from afghanistan? this is a perfect storm. the taliban take over. isis is alive and well. it's just a matter of time before terrorists come through our border and kill a bunch of of americans. the ayatollah people released a video indicating a desire to kill president trump on a golf course. it was released about it iranians it has footage of president trump playing golf. a drone going down a road with a
6:13 pm
button to activate the robot. twitter band the video and the biden administration hasn't done a thing. the facts that we continue to negotiate with the iranians is an outrage. the biden administration needs to comment on this video. if they continue, the iranians are going to believe these people are pathetically weak. as 2 negotiate with them they are releasing a video showing they are planning to kill the former president and you can't do anything about it. >> if you may golf with him so you could have been in there as well. judge jeanine: all of a sudden we are hearing more. that president trump did take out the caliphate.
6:14 pm
now we have this again. let's just hope that the one-year anniversary is joe biden i was going to talk about in mire open and didn't get a -- in my open and didn't get a chance to. that he changes course and recognizes that we are in a hell of a bad situation. we thank you for being on. and i appreciate everything that you have done for "justice" in the last 11 years. god bless you. much more on the hostage situation in texas when we come back.
6:15 pm
6:16 pm
6:17 pm
6:18 pm
judge jeanine: welcome back to "justice." we are monitoring the situation in colleyville, texas. >> judge will be it's a good sign that the lines of communication appear to be open with one hostage released. the information should be flowing to the fbi where action is not just taking place at the synagogue, but also behind the scenes. hopefully they obtained information regarding residence
6:19 pm
of the suspect, vehicle information and hopefully searches are under way to get as much detail about this individual as possible. limits not forget that siddiqui is also in the custody of the bureau of prisons. so there is a lot of work that could be take place over there as well. judge jeanine: we determined based on reports that her blood brother indicated he's not the one who is the hostage taker. and he may are referred to her like a brother in arms, comrade in arms in terms of al qaeda. let me go to you chris. you were overall in charge of the hostage rescue. you oversaw it. obviously charlie restaurant. what are your thoughts tonight? >> i think we are reaching a
6:20 pm
critical time period. it's been 10-11 hours. fatigue is setting in on both sides. you want some continuity with the hostage negotiators. as he gets tired, as the hostage taker gets tired, things get critical. you start to make bad decisions. on the good side, pizza has been delivered. he released a hostage. he's still talking, and we had plenty of opportunity to gather information about him in so many different ways i don't even want to talk about it because he may be watching. they know a lot about him and what he's doing. this could be close to a resolution. judge jeanine: it's interesting to both of you, the idea that he would let a hostage go is a show
6:21 pm
of good faith, a show of something? or is it theater? what is it? i will go to you, charles. >> you know, obviously there is some good faith he wants to show on his part. it shows it's possible to make some progress with this individual. and maybe he's not prepared to die as he first stated when he went in there. or maybe he doesn't have any weapons. hopefully the hostage that was released can provide information about what weapon if any this individual has. but it does show a degree of good faith. the main goal is no hostages are harmed. and if this individual does want to take his own life, that he's dissuaded from doing so in an effort to get even more information if this is brought to a peaceful resolution. judge jeanine: chris, there is
6:22 pm
no question the benefit of time -- that time benefits both the taker and law enforcement. at this point you already know what the inside of the synagogue looks like. i am sure you have the blueprints. you know the intelligence from the hostage that's been released. you probably know based upon the information from the bureau of prisons. i get what you are saying. i was in law enforcement for many years. at the end of this, is there any kind of study that shows if you get someone to release one hostage that the chances of it going bert or peacefully better, or do the chances just break and everybody goes crazy? >> i don't know of a specific study. but it's a great sign that he has let a hostage go. that takes us down to three.
6:23 pm
it's a great opportunity to get intelligence and figure out what's in his head over the past 10 hours. is he really on the edge, or is he more relaxed? what effect haved negotiations had on him. it's very hard for the hostage rescue team to be in the state of readiness for 10 hours. that's why i say we are reaching a critical stage here. they are not going to go until he threatens. they will not move until they are sure of that. >> you don't know that unless you have eyes on it. judge jeanine: right. we'll leave it at that. aren't we. i respect law enforcement in this one. we'll be right back.
6:24 pm
an unthinkable genocide took the lives of six million jews and thousands of jewish survivors are still suffering in poverty today. god calls on people who believe in him to act on his word. "comfort ye, comfort my people." when i come here and i sit with lilia i realize what she needs right now is food. these elderly jews are weak and they're sick. they're living on $2 a day which is impossible.
6:25 pm
this now, is how god's children are living. take this time to send a survival food box to these forgotten jews. the international fellowship of christians and jews urgently need your gift of $25 now to help provide one survival food box with all of the essentials they critically need for their diet for one month. no vitamins and no protein so my legs and hands are very weak. oh, oh, oh let's make sure that we bring them just a little bit of hope. by bringing them a little bit of food. become a part of the fellowship today by reaching out to bless these precious people of god. for just $25, you can help supply the essential foods they desperately need for one month. that's less than a dollar a day. the fellowship has given christians like me
6:26 pm
a way to bless elderly jews and holocaust survivors who live in extreme poverty around the world. god tells us to take care of them, to feed the hungry. and i pray holocaust survivors will be given the basic needs that they so desperately pray for to survive.
6:27 pm
ashley: this is a fox news alert. i'm ashley strohmier. a tense situation in colleyville, texas. where a man is holding three hostages inside a synagogue. one hostage was released uninjured and is said to be reunited with his family. the -- the standoff began
6:28 pm
shortly before noon. the synagogue was live streaming the services when a man with began screaming. he's screaming about a neuroscientist who was convicted of trying to kill military officers. there are no reports of injuries. i'm ashley strohmier. now back to "justice with judge jeanine." judge jeanine: this is a fox news alert. we are monitoring breaking news out of texas as a hostage situation continues to develop. our very own bryan llenas joins us. >> a good sign pennsylvania is and water delivered inside for the remaining three hostages.
6:29 pm
we believe one of the hostages to be the rabbi charlie cytron-walker. the hostage derek was caught on the live stream talk about his sister in islam. saying he didn't want to hurt anyone, that he had children. but he repeatedly said he believe he's going to die. philadelphia, new york city, as well as dallas have stepped up security to protect jewish synagogues. the hostage derek is demanding the release of dr. aafia siddiqui the pakistani neuroscientist sentenced to 86 years for attempting to kill u.s. military members.
6:30 pm
our affiliate kdfw reports that a rabbi in new york city called 911, receiving a call from the rabbi believed to be held hostage, rabbi charlie cytron-walker. the chair of the council on american-islamic relations and the brother of dr. aafia siddiqui released a statement saying we want to make it well known the hostage taker is not where aafia siddiqui's brother. we want the hostage taker to know dr. siddiqui and her family strongly condemn this act and do not stand by you. the president of the islamic center in collieville had this to say.
6:31 pm
quote he's a peace-loving person, a rabbi and jewish leader and a true friend of the muslim communities. he and his family are considered part of the muslim community and he considers us part of the jewish community. jen psaki said the president has been briefed. president joe biden has been briefed on the hostage situation. he will continue to receive updates from his senior team as the situation develops. as of right now, judge, that's what we have got as the crisis negotiators for the fbi continue to do their good work. judge jeanine: when you say the rabbi is a true friend of the muslim community. people get along, then you get people are terrorist ideas that destroy that peacefulness. there is a staging area there
6:32 pm
where both federal, state and local law enforcement are stage. any information about anything happening in the next few hours? >> no. i think this is par for the course in hostage situation. you talked earlier when you were speaking to your guests, we have to be careful with we are reporting. the news from colleyville has been slow to come out. so i think that's why we haven't been getting the wealth of information we may be used to on purpose. to protect the three hostages that are inside right now. judge jeanine: very good purpose and very good reason. bryan llenas thank you so much. joining us now, walid phares. i can't imagine anyone with more knowledge about this kind of thing than you.
6:33 pm
we got this individual who is at best a comrade in arms and reportedly not a brother of this dr. aafia siddiqui. what does he gain by this? >> first of all, thank you for having me. let's begin from the tactical level to the more interesting level of strategic. why is this happening? we know his goal will not be attained. er in not going to release dr. siddiqui from jail. and he's not going to be free. the question for authorities, first of all the safety of the hostages. but once this is resolved, the question is why now? what inspired him? we know he's not the brother at this point in time. this increases the questioning. if he's the brother, it's emotional so we understand what the roots are. if he's not the brother, either
6:34 pm
he's a solo individual terrorist or somebody inspired him. if that's the case, those who inspired him, if there are many, are they part of a larger happening of terrorist coulding to the united states. judge jeanine: it's interesting that we also had this guy who is in a synagogue, this hostage taker, he's in a synagogue in colleyville, texas. it's -- 20 miles from the airport@in fort worth. but he picked the the synagogue. why a synagogue? it was the federal government that convicted him and tea -- she was convicted of attempting to kill military servicemen.
6:35 pm
and i understand from one of my guests tonight, some fbi agents were there as well. why a synagogue? >> this is the best question of the night. why a synagogue? because we all know that it's a radio active issue. obviously a synagogue meaning the jewish community. we know what it means in intercommunity relationship in the united states. he wants to mobilize other radicals against the same target. and it could have some ties to the middle east. the jewish community means israel, means abraham accord. i'm not worried about his brain thinking. i'm worried about who planted this idea in his head to execute this matter against the jewish community. judge jeanine: what do you think is the biggest issue right now?
6:36 pm
he released one hostage. he accepted food. i understand from charlie colson they come in with amphetamine to stay alert. and nuts to eat and food to maintain themselves? why the showing of good faith? >> this is not the typical jihadi suicide operation we have seen in the united states and mum by paris and elsewhere. if a jihadist wanted to kill and massacre they would do it from the beginning. this is something to bring a lot of media for many many, many hours. probably this is messaging others of the capability of being able to do the matter. i don't know, i'm theorizing here. they need the exposure. judge jeanine: if the intent was
6:37 pm
to adract attention. -- attract attention. now everybody knows dr. aafia siddiqui. i think what will cement it is how this ends. lord willing it will end peacefully. any thoughts on the impact on the world community. >> this should end peacefully is my prayer. and he will be captured and my colleagues will start thinking about why this happened, who instructed for this to happen. and my real hope that this is not the beginning, the tip of an iceberg as we have seen in the past in the united states and the rest of the world. judge jeanine: i couldn't agree with you more. we haven't heard a lot about all this in the last four years.
6:38 pm
but here we are, and we are facing it again. it's a throwback to several several years ago. anyway, walid phares, thanks for being with us. lara trump is here with us. stay with us. started to deteriorate, i stopped hanging out socially. it was a easy decision -- clearchoice. [ awada ] the health of our teeth plays a significant role in our overall health. chantell was suffering, and we had to put an end to that. the absolute best way to do that was through dental implants. [ chantell ] clearchoice dental implants changed everything. my digestive health is much better now. i feel more energetic. the person that i've always been has shown up to the party again.

so many people are overweight now, and asking themselves, "why can't i lose weight?" for most, the reason is insulin resistance, and they don't even know they have it. conventional starvation diets don't address insulin resistance. that's why they don't work. now there's release from golo. it naturally helps reverse insulin resistance, stops sugar cravings, and releases stubborn fat all while controlling stress and emotional eating. at last, a diet pill that actually works. go to golo.com to get yours.
6:42 pm
judge jeanine: this is a fox news alert. a hostage situation has captured the attention of the entire nation. we are monitoring the breaking developments from the synagogue in texas. the training that that may have taken place before this situation. what have you learned about training and preparation for a situation like this? >> we earlier on the big saturday show talked with a man named michael masters.
6:43 pm
he's the national director and ceo of secure community group. they train religious leaders like a buys and preachers for situations like this. he actually has trained the rabbi in this synagogue right now being held hostage. one hostage was released. we don't know exactly why that has happened. perhaps part of that reason is this training that he had to deal with a situation like this. so i found that very interesting that he has been trained. it kind of speaks to a bigger situation overall, fact that we are having to train our religious leaders across the country to deal with hostage situations, to deal with people coming in and possibly causing harm. so it does speak to maybe where we are on a bigger scale as a nation, that this is where we
6:44 pm
had to turn. hopefully that training he had to the receive from security community network helped in the situation. i don't think anyone has been injured so far as reports have told us. so let's hope it stays that way. judge jeanine: we live in a world where this has to be done. but the good news is preparations are being made. people are cognizant of the world we live in. synagogues are very often the first line of attack. why not a federal prison for military area. federal. they picked a synagogue, and pastor jeffress was on earlier tonight saying he had training. it's terrific that people are taking this kind of thing seriously. this is the kind of thing we are somewhat used to five, six,
6:45 pm
seven, eight years ago. we haven't had this situation in the last five years. >> i heard you say that. and we all noticed that as well. this is happening in texas. that is obviously a state that's a border state. obviously we don't know who this individual is in the synagogue. the man holding people hostage. but you are having people flow into america from all over the world. they are going you be checked. you don't know if they have good or bad intentions when they are coming to our country illegally and you don't have checks on them. you have this individual who is a sympathizer with al qaeda. you didn't see that during the presidency of donald trump. for whatever reason that's back from the forefront, and that's what the individual in the synagogue is discussion. it feels like we have headed in
6:46 pm
the wrong direction at least with this specific incident in america. i think things felt very secure for a certain time under president donald trump. now joe biden is in the white house. people all across the country are not afraid of this guy. they don't feel he's going to do the necessary thing to protect our country. who knows why this happened in the synagogue. but it makes you think twice about a lot that's going none america right now. judge jeanine: there is no question about that now that the taliban has millions of dollars of tour equipment. or billions. i'm not sure. lara trump, thank you for being with us tonight. up next, leo and tomi are here. we'll continue to monitor. i grow all my own vegetables shingles doesn't care.
6:47 pm
we've still got the best moves you've ever seen good for you, but shingles doesn't care. because 1 in 3 people will get shingles, you need protection. but, no matter how healthy you feel, your immune system declines as you age increasing your risk for getting shingles. so, what can protect you? shingrix protects. you can protect yourself from shingles with a vaccine proven to be over 90% effective. shingrix is a vaccine used to prevent shingles in adults 50 years and older. shingrix does not protect everyone and is not for those with severe allergic reactions to its ingredients or to a previous dose. an increased risk of guillain-barré syndrome was observed after getting shingrix. fainting can also happen. the most common side effects are pain, redness, and swelling at the injection site, muscle pain, tiredness, headache, shivering, fever, and upset stomach. ask your pharmacist or doctor about shingrix. shingles doesn't care. but you should.

judge jeanine: this is a fox news alert. the fbi and s.w.a.t. are on the scene of a hostage situation at a texas synagogue. we are joined by leo terrell and tomi lahren. i know there were other things we were going to talk about tonight. but let's talk about this situation, the hostage situation.
6:51 pm
i will start with you, to mirks. what does it bring to mind? >> this is a horrible tragedy unfolding. we hope it ends well. i think it's important. we can't blame something like this on the democrats or president biden. but we can blame the emboldening of criminals and criminal elements on joe biden and the democrat party in general. when you have some of the criminal penalties where people feel they can do something like this and get away with it and have less consequences than they deserve. we did not deal with this during the trump administration. i fear this type of thing will happen more often because we have a president who is weak to the country and weak to the world. the world is watching and they
