years old was murdered by a coward and i'm sorry responded to a domestic disturbance. and wilbert mora laid critically wounded in the hospital clinging to life as we speak. mayor adams ran on a platform committee platform that is tough on crime, yet since january 1st and his inauguration, will be paid by police officer shot. we've had one more leave wounded and went critically wanted clinging to his life since we speak. and since inauguration in 19-year-old woman murdered in burger king. we had 11-month-old baby shot in the head by a stray bullet. it is seen daily that we look at the news and see people being pushed off the platforms and getting killed commute though my commuting to work. we are looking to mayor adams for answers, and i don't believe we are saying that, i don't believe we are seeing the leadership that was called for. there is no tough on crime solutions being offered.

mayor eric adams is calling on the federal government to do his job. we have the resources. we need to stop blaming the guns and the flow of guns and old accountable to people behind those nuns. we need to stop putting criminals in front of victims. until we do that, i think things are going to get a lot worse than what we are seeing. it is a scary time. it was a horrible week last week for the nypd. we lost another great officer, daniel, he succumbed to his injuries due to covid contracted in the line of duty. it has been an awful week. i don't see if we don't move away from this bill de blasio style of policing. >> todd: john, by all accounts this was an execution plain and simple but why is the knee-jerk reaction to your point always to blame the gun and not that bad, not the murderer? this knee-jerk reaction to me is easy and it allows them to get

out of being able to actually have to solve the real problem. what do you think? >> yes, absolutely. they are cowering away from the granule answers and not talking about the actual implementation of solutions of tough on crime solutions. how do we stop individuals from shooting people and carrying guns instead of bill de blasio's style of policing and responding to after the effect of these horrible acts and picking up the pieces and investigating them in four years, prior to this, we transform new york city from the city of crimes to the state to the greatest city in america and went from that style and fell off the cliff. we are seeing a lawless society. they do not want to have the actual conversation. they don't want to answer the questions. how do we do this since we stepped away from broken windows theory? how do you stop major crimes from happening without actually

preventing and arresting for minor crimes? >> carley: that is a very good question, yeah, go ahead really quickly, 50 more seconds to you. >> i mean, that is where we are at. what are we doing? what is going to be the response? we need those answers. we are looking for leadership and we are not seeing it. easy to point to the federal government and easy to blame the object of a gun. it is hard to hold people accountable. district attorneys need to do their job. they need to put people in jail. >> carley: mayor eric adams said he wants to be tough on crime but at the same time as a district attorney who one day when said he wasn't going to prosecute many even violent crimes. so questions still remain on the future of new york city. john macari, thank you for joining us, we do appreciate it. >> thank you. >> carley: did you hear this? >> look like a third world

319 illegal migrants caught in a caravan trying to reach the united states. the largest group consisted of 380 migrants in the state of vera q cruise. one located in a tour bus and another in a trailer. meanwhile mexican officials finding two dozen migrants from nicaragua including ninth unaccompanied children inside of a fake ambulance heading to the united states. and the biden administration is looking to make it easier for migrants to face legal services at the southern border. the justice department illegal access at the border program will provide options to migrants for staying in the u.s. while deportation orders are pending. it will be available for migrants has something to cross borders here are those whom border patrol custody or those that will remain in mexico program. the taxpayer-funded program is expected to be up and running in the next two months, todd. >> todd: harley, thank you california democrats deflecting blame to anyone but themselves when it comes to the

union pacific security and then you're in a pacific police, local police and blaming prosecutor statewide for not doing their job of smash and grab spear this is just another publicity stunt by him. he has a name as to public safety as the governor. >> todd: wow, that is quite a statement there. to the d.a. there in l.a., george gas cone we talk about him a lot and what he is doing to the city is horrific. he's blaming union pacific for the train package and writes "union pacific does little to secure lock trains and significantly decreased staffing. it is telling other major railroad operations in the area are not facing the same level of theft at their facilities." what you make this tactic from the left to blame the victim? >> you know, this is what they do because they don't want to look in the mirror. george gascon and the cronies, gavin newsom are the same. they created this disaster by

disrespect of law enforcement. they are encouraging the illegal use of drugs and promote $0 bail and most egregiously, they are continuing to release, gavin newsom releasing prisoners from the state prison left and right. his management of the state prisons in california is something nobody ever talks about. but they were such an abuse of older parole and defender parole, he's letting people out left and right and casting blame on everybody else. he actually -- newsom actually closed the california state prison inspection centers like counties like fresno's to prosecute criminals, we have upwards of 300, 400 inmates and our local jail that are either tried or pled guilty and ready to go to state prison. but he uses covid and any other excuse to close the reception centers so it creates another backlog and the local jails which then kicks more people out because there are no beds. so, this is just a perfect

for the convincing of the public to get vaccinated. greg urban is the owner of the saloon and joins me now. greg, in order to go into a restaurant in minneapolis, you either have to have to be vaccinated or show any negative covid test. you are suing over this. why did you decide to take legal action? >> a rather large group of similarly situated businesses and a very diverse group, too, got together and we need to push back on this. we are going into year 3 of 2 weeks to slow the spread. and we think it is time to get on with our lives and return to a normal society. so, we figured it was time to stand up and do something to stick up for our business. >> carley: are you worried

vaccine mandate would affect the bottom line and discourage people from going into businesses? >> i've been told he already has. for the large venues commit doesn't start until this week. so we are hoping we have a small injunction but the small venue seems to start about last week. i've been told it's been a disaster. sails are way down and the place has had to call the police over arguments and it was a real disaster. sails were way down at the small businesses where they went into place already. >> carley: we know people who are vaccinated can still spread covid-19. so why is the mayor imposing this vaccine mandate now? >> well, in minneapolis and minnesota, in general, this has been really more about following the political science for the last several years.

girl caught in a handful of bullets simply walking with her mother. joining me now chicago alderman brian hopkins and if city leaders don't stand up when kids are killed, when will they? >> you know, we've had enough in chicago. we had eight children under 12 years old murdered by gun violence last year. 48 children under 12 were shot and lost their lives. here we are in 2022, you know, off to a horrible start once again with the violence that you just mentioned here and be 10:30 one fatal shootings and the month of january. so, this year is looking to be as bad as 2021. >> todd: the neighborhood crying out for help, take a listen. >> you got your brain but you come here as a punk and into hill of streets. >> black on black crime needs to be stated and latino crime needs to be spoken about. that is who are killing our

youth, our elderly. >> these kids cannot go out to play. they can't do nothing! >> todd: brian, if he has this conversation every single monday following another bad week on the streets of chicago. when will words become action because nothing is happening? >> that is a great point. it is part of my frustration as a legislature. i'm constantly faced with ideas and proposals that will limit law enforcement's ability to do their job, to do the job that we expect them to do. to do the job we expect the justice system to do. we have basically taken our foot off of the gas to take care of crime. we had 2,000 arrest in chicago for all causes. last year we had a total of 37,000 arrests and at a time when crime was soaring. so, we are not doing the things we have traditionally done to try to incarcerate defenders

when we catch them and to try to pursue them and catch them. we have a database in the city of chicago that we could use in a case like this where this 8-year-old girl was shot to try to figure out who the offenders might have been based on the current gang consul in that neighborhood. we are being challenged in court to use that database. that is one example of how we have a tool that could potentially solve this crime that someone has taken away from us and limit our ability to catch the person who killed an innocent 8-year-old child. >> todd: it is another example of people wanting to help the criminals and not the kids. quickly on this last topic, you are demanding chicago public schools explaining covid-19 dashboard discrepancy. what discrepancy and why is this happening? >> well, it comes down to the definition of what a covid case is in an individual school. is it someone who took a home test and test a positive and have the courtesy to report
