8:00 am
i think it should be mandatory viewing for all americans if you are a teacher, grab this, have your students watch it. jason rivera killed a week ago today. next week we'll honor his partner as he is laid to rest as well. thank you for watching with us. "the faulkner focus" is up next. >> harris: breaking news as we are learning disturbing truths about president biden's border crisis cover-up. the federal government is treating communities in texas and new york as drop-off points for bus loads and plane loads of illegal migrants and the white house is telling us well, it isn't happening. but you know we have receipts. i'm harris faulkner and you are in "the faulkner focus". a source with probation and customs enforcement tells fox news illegal immigrants with criminal records are being
8:01 am
released into the united states. well, in "focus" yesterday we caught it live. single adult males and some females. they were released in san antonio, texas. we know it is happening in brownsville, texas and westchester new york. and taxpayers we know are largely footing the bill for all their travel and lodging expenses. republican lawmakers are getting louder as millions of americans are shocked watching this all unfold. they want to know why after one full year of intense criticism, the white house is still failing to secure our borders and now they are lying about it. >> this is what it looks like when you have an open border policy, when you don't enforce the law, when you have record number of illegal apprehensions every single month. they have nowhere else to put these individuals. they have broken the system and this is what it looks like.
8:02 am
they have chosen to do this. this is an intentional strategy that the administration is pursuing. >> harris: michael mccaul is in "focus." we begin with peter doocy reporting at the white house. >> good morning. it has been more than 10 months since president biden told illegal immigrants do not come but they are still coming. >> joe biden has a lot of explaining to do. the american people do not want these people in their neighborhoods and this is something that joe biden has snuck around. it is illegal and i expect congress to hold him accountable. >> this is really brother erg border protection officers whose hands are tied. >> i just came back from a five-day tour on the border speaking to the agents themselves and they are crushed, demoralized and basically have had enough with this administration, not allowing them to do their jobs. >> white house officials have
8:03 am
long defended border policy they think the humane thing to do is not turn back unaccompanied children and keep family together. now they aren't turning away unaccompanied adult men, either. roughly half in a recent dhs study were not showing up for their immigration hearings. >> why let them into the u.s. unsupervised in the first place? >> well again, we have a stringent protocols and processes that we implement here that includes expelling individuals who come in under title 42 given we're still in a global pandemic and those who do not show up will be subject to the repercussions of that. >> no white house briefing today. the president will be on the road in pennsylvania talking about infrastructure, not immigration. >> harris: peter, i'm just catching this on the associated wires. the ntsb is sending a team to the site of the pittsburgh
8:04 am
bridge collapse. good to see you, thank you. the cover of the "new york post" this morning also calling out the white house's quote border cover-up. republican lawmakers demanding president biden not just take responsibility, they want him to face consequences. >> this is a complete dereliction of duty. i called for joe biden to be impeached and removed. his primary obligation as the commander-in-chief and the president of the united states is to enforce our laws, to live up to his oath, to enforce our border security and also to tell the truth to the american people. >> aiding and abetting illegal immigration is a violation of the law and you have it coming from the president. the supreme court ruled he had to reinstate remain in mexico. he has not done that. >> harris: critics are pointing to this. homeland security secretary
8:05 am
mayorkas posting these photographs of himself with border agents in texas and tweeting they are incredible and we'll provide what they need. social media got after it. one tweet, maybe they try following the law? another with talk is cheap, actions speak louder and this. did we let enough illegals in now? michael mccaul, republican congressman of texas, homeland security committee member himself is with us in "focus" today. congressman, first of all, when you see the blowback there people are aware of what is going on. so if this was indeed a cover-up they didn't do a very good job. >> well no, it has been going on for quite some time, harris, since the beginning of this administration. they just got caught on a video in the middle of the night. they've been telling us all along these are minors being transported. these are young adult males,
8:06 am
many with criminal histories being released into the streets. worse than that the taxpayer is paying for a travel service. we're turning border patrol and ice agents into a travel service into the united states. enough is enough. that's why when mayorkas talked to his agents in arizona, one of them turned his back on mayorkas and he said why are you doing that to me and the answer was because you turned your back on us. and that is so true. they are demoralized. i've worked with them many years as a federal prosecutor. they know the real story. they are projecting 9,000 per day will be coming into the united states. when is this going to end? >> harris: can we handle that? >> we've already -- we're already approaching two million. how can we assimilate two million people that have no legal status in this country.
8:07 am
the largest human trafficking event that i've seen in my lifetime and i dealt with the border as chair of the homeland security committee and a federal prosecutor. i've never seen it more wide open, more chaotic and why border patrol is just -- the administration lie after lie. they want to turn a blind eye to this situation and it is not sustainable. >> harris: i wonder how much we still wouldn't know in terms of the cover-up if the government just had not underestimated how people don't want to get caught up in that and they'll share video and talk about it. they don't want to be part of the government breaking law. texas governor greg abbott went after the president over the huge spike in fentanyl coming across the border. something we've talked about before. it is happening in his administration, watch, let's watch this together. >> they have seized enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman and child in all of the
8:08 am
states together here combined. that is how deadly this is. doses to kill more than 222 million americans are sweeping our states for one reason only, joe biden does not care that fentanyl is invading our states. >> harris: is somebody covering up the facts for the president? how can he not know this and then not do something? >> the fentanyl crisis is real and it is probably the worst news story of the border crisis. they come from china to mexico and they make the stuff in mexico and it comes across the border and greg abbott, my governor is right. we talk about this a lot. enough has come in. we seized enough just what we've apprehended enough to kill the entire united states population seven times over.
8:09 am
this is real. my daughter went through her fifth funeral. she is 25. fifth funeral from a high school friend. they are all high school friends that took what they thought was xanax and they didn't wake up. they are lacing it with what looks like prescription medication and then these young kids basically take it and they die. this is becoming an epidemic in the country and you can thank joe biden and you can thank the chinese communist party as well. what a great foreign policy for them. they are making money off this and they are killing americans and the cartels don't really care. they just make money and they don't care who dies. >> harris: they are too busy killing the people south of the border who are supposed to be doing their bidding for them. they'll kill anybody. but what you say about the numbers of people who are suffering now layering on the depression and the mental health illness we see coming out of a pandemic and the
8:10 am
restrictions and isolation and so much in our society that was undiagnosed and unseen until now. when you layer that with this, it is just heartbreaking. real quickly you mentioned your governor, you mentioned the state of arizona, this isn't just about the border states, though. because fentanyl everything state i have heard officials say is a border state now. >> yes. and i live in a border state and dealt with this my entire adult career. this is the worst i've ever seen it. every state is a border state now because every state is taking this illegal influx of population that we can't absorb. we can't take care of all these people and you combine it with the fentanyl. the most toxic poisonous substance, canines getting close to it end up dying when they sniff this stuff. it is very, very potent. and it only takes a very, very
8:11 am
small amount. so i would say that again every state is subjected to this. it is not just about texas, arizona, it is about the entire united states. it is time the american people wake up. we are sending remain in mexico led to the self-inflicted wound. the crisis that we are experiencing. >> harris: the administration said it was kicking people out based on title 42 but look how much they brought in yesterday. congressman mccaul. we'll have you back in "focus" as the story continues to unfold unfortunately. we'll see you then. thank you. >> thanks, harris. >> harris: three houston police officers shot during a stand-off yesterday and that is just the tip of the iceberg. staggering new statistics show just what our men and women in blue are facing right now in america.
8:12 am
and this. >> today we salute police officer jason rivera for the last time. today our hearts are with his beautiful family. he is a hero and our fellow new yorkers acknowledge that. >> harris: honoring nypd killed in the line of duty jason rivera. hundreds of loved ones and supporters from around the country turned out today to say their final goodbyes and remember the life of rivera. joe gamaldi is in "focus" next. the newday 100 va loan lets you borrow up to 100% of your home's value and take out up to $60,000 or more. give them a call. veteran homeowners, newday wants to help you use your va home loan benefit to get more. more cash, more savings, more peace of mind.

346 police officers shot. only by the grace of god were we not attending another three funerals from yesterday. that video was a reminder of the heroism that police officers show every day and the dangers that we face. all these keyboard warriors out there that second guess us and question what officers do, why don't you sign your ass up for an application after seeing that video? that's what we're dealing with on the streets. thanks to rogue prosecutors and bail reform and the continued demonization of law enforcement crime is through the roof in our cities. what i want to ask and what 800,000 police officers in this country want to ask or every citizen in this country is where is president biden? our cities are war zones. our country is in turmoil and police officers are being hunted in the streets. why are you, mr. president? you need to give a national address that condemns the violence against law enforcement and talk about the real crime issues in america because the silence in the white house right now is

8:34 am
keep it secret. thank gosh this thing has been exposed and hopefully push for some answers. >> harris: look, he is right. not one reporter asked white house press secretary jen psaki about those secret nighttime flights during yesterday's briefing. fox news did not have a seat due to covid rules. otherwise you know we would have done it. what the reporters would have done we would have done that job. david avella, and lori fink. good to have you both today. laura, i'm going to put you in kind of a hot seat position i would imagine because nobody wants to necessarily defend why the media aren't covering this. why wouldn't they? >> well you know it's really hard to take accusations usually from right wing media critics seriously when the reality is that when right wing news outletss were promoting

the big lie and didn't stop until the january 6 insurrection. >> harris: did you see that video? did you see it? contractors hired by the federal government. >> i can hear you i can't see the film. >> harris: we caught some of this live yesterday out of westchester, new york. there is a bevy of information coming in that is not theoretical. these things are happening. these are not families. and we are paying for them as taxpayers. i want you to be careful about calling it all conspiracy theory. >> it's not a conspiracy theory. the reality is that this was addressed on september 19th. there are no secret flights. it was addressed on tuesday the 25th. >> harris: when jen psaki laughed about it.
8:36 am
>> she did not laugh about it. it may be late for you but early for me. david, go right ahead. >> it was addressed. >> there is no shortage of incompetence coming out of the biden administration for the media to ask about. gosh, if you are a media reporter at the white house press briefing it is hard to know exactly what to focus on. harris, this goes to why you see an increasing number of democratic sheriffs working with republican governors in texas with abbott and deucey in arizona to try to do something about the flow of immigration into this country. we are a country of 329 million people. we just stopped the am of fentanyl that could kill 220 million americans. and yet it is this administration that openly
8:37 am
defies judge's orders, that don't require those coming into this country to have the same covid requirements that those americans who live with it every day have to go by, and yet we are going to continue to see voters move to republicans because of this incoherent strategy of the biden administration when it comes to border security. >> harris: laura i will come to you first. the democrat divide widening as the war on sinema reaches new heights. here is alexandria ocasio-cortez on welcoming a party challenge to sinema in the mid-term elections. >> i don't believe she is really given a compelling case as to why she should be renominated as the democratic nominee for united states senate in arizona. she has proven herself and obstacle to the right to vote in the united states. she is not doing what voters in arizona sent her to do.
8:38 am
>> harris: former deputy chief of staff for president obama with a shockingly vulgar attack on senator sinema. >> i have real issues with her. they are many fold. i think in her speech she talks about the disease of division. also, you guys, she gave the speech as joe biden was on her way up to the hill. anyway, it is the [bleep] grossest disrespectful thing she could have done. i think she is a [bleep] and that's what i have to say. and every -- it was so many layers of [bleep] that you know that she played like a combative video game before she went down to the senate floor and was like you are a maverick. you are a maverick and [bleep] you are not a maverick, okay? no, you are trash. >> harris: wow. we bleeped what we could but some of us can lip read.
8:39 am
that rant stirred outrage. twitter went after her. no class, that's hateful. she is a hateful person. another tweeting apparently this is them going high when others go low. nice. laura, where are we? >> well, i don't condone that remark certainly but i will say this. democrats are not afraid of primary khal edges. that is -- no secret that aoc won an election against a powerful incumbent. so in our democratic family we don't have a problem with primary challenges. we handle it. on the republican side i will say this. with president trump king making in critical races for republicans as they look at the house and senate next year expect those fireworks to be brewing in ways that we don't traditionally see in republican circles. they like to stay all in line and tow the party line. democrats are more diverse in their viewpoints and you'll see khal edges not just on the
8:40 am
democratic side but the republican side with president trump's king making next year. >> harris: i can't miss this. the party of women, why do i say that? there is a bolo out for a black female who might be younger for the u.s. supreme court seat that just became open, right? that is so much disrespect for women i can't believe you didn't come down on it. look, you don't condone it. >> i'm happy to -- i don't condone it at all. i don't condone it. >> harris: did you hear the president last week? >> how much more strongly can i condemn it. i agree with you. >> harris: the president dropping it, too. you don't fight like that. you have lost the debate with that. >> would you say this about trump is my other thing. as far as argue. >> harris: have you seen me interview him? >> i haven't seen the interviews. >> harris: you need to watch more fox so you know what's going on.
8:41 am
>> if the congresswoman is that fired up against senator sinema she should move to arizona. move to arizona and run against her if you are that oh fernded about it. the next democratic house caucus will be smaller, it will be more radical, and more out of touch with american voters than at any time in the democratic party's history. when you have a party that voters now believe it's biden's policies making inflation worse and the covid situation worse, not better, when it's the biden policies making immito be a huge win for republicans. >> you hope so for your pac's viability. that's a business line for you, too, david. i appreciate that. you are paid to say that. >> harris: okay, i will see you two in the future.

8:50 am
clinton was running for reelection and it took a lot of preparation. i would imagine like you say because they don't know us as well at the local level, they just don't. they can't anticipate what we would talk about. but there are some drumbeat issues in this country and right now when the president travels he runs right into them. pennsylvania and its crime problems in certain pockets of that state and cops shot in the last year or so. i mean, the crime is everywhere. there is some issues, fentanyl, making every city or state a border state. that sort of thing. so really where can he go, maybe besides delaware, they have to get their voting straight on the early voting thing. that is starting to rival the places democrats -- i could do this dance all day unfortunately, marc. >> he doesn't want to confront the local realities. he could stay at 50,000 feet in the national press corps. when you get to a local area fentanyl deaths have doubled in our community.

fentanyl, why is the open -- what are you doing about the open border where the drugs are coming over? the crime rate in our city just hit a record high of homicides. you stopped operation legend, the trump administration policy of providing federal law enforcement to our city. why did you cancel that? you have to be ready for every one of those questions and be prepared. the combination of not wanting to confront those issues and i don't think having the bandwidth to be that prepared on granular detail on the local impact of his policies. >> harris: you brought a thought balloon over my head. he should have some availability in pittsburgh. local democrats don't have time to meet with him. they have scheduling conflicts. what do you make of that? >> he has got time to do local news interviews now. >> harris: politically what does it get you when nobody knows who is president? >> people don't want to be seen
