remain blind on what victims in our nation are going through. >> two different things, todd. a huge political liability and number two they are not seeing it firsthand. they have private security. probably the best security in the world it doesn't touch and effect them. what i would say to jen psaki if she is confused what soft on crime policies are. she should go to any american citizens, especially a democrat run major city and see it firsthand. i can name a few things. defund and demonize the police movement. crime reclassification. crime realignment. no cash bail. catch and release happening not only in american cities but at our lawless southern border. if she goes there, she can take a look firsthand and see exactly what the lawlessness and soft on crime policies we are talking about right here on fox news and across the united states both republicans and democrats. if she want to have some fun lock arms with our vice president kamala harris go right on down to that southern border and see more of the lawlessness then i would think she would know what we are talking about.

>> ashley: fraternal order of police demanding an apology for that piggy backing off defund the police movement. stacey abrams spent more than a million dollars on private security in 2021 despite her support to defund the police. my question here is how in the same breath is she going to pay boat loads of money for private security and try and take away the security, that sense of security that the community and the public has with police? >> well, it's a tale as old as time. democrats doing one thing and saying another. i believe it was representative cori bush who said of the same thing her life and work was too important. she needed private security and the rest of us needed to suck it up and defund police. the democrats are going to pay for this come november midterms and start realizing how badly they are going to pay for this. probably starting will n. early summer. they are going to gaslight us to believe they they're not forefor defund the police and soft on crime policies.

it's how many americans are going to get hurt or killed while we waited for democrats to wake up and see what's hang in our cities. we can't just wait for them to see the political liability of all of this. we need to let them know this needs to be handled urgently it's a matter of measure safety and not political. >> ashley: before i hand it to have todd i would like for people like psaki and stacey abrams to tell this to the mother of that 1-year-old who was shot in the head in the bronx a couple weeks ago they want to defund the police and take their security away from them. >> todd: like we live in two different worlds. your former buddy gavin newsom took off hat for a photo with magicking johnson. he had that mask off a lot there at sofi stadium at the nfc championship game. here he is trying to defend himself. >> i was trying to be gracious and i made -- i mean i was trying to be gracious and took the mask off for a brief second.

>> todd: almost said he made a mistake kind of went there and didn't. at this point, tomi, should we expect anything different from governor french laundry? >> listen, you cannot hide from that damn camera. i think it's important that governor newsom broke the news to us that you can't spread covid while taking a photo. that's a wonderful piece of health and safety advice that i'm so glad that we are hearing from governor newsom. he is lying to the american people. let's keep in mind meanwhile the american students, especially in his home state of california are now expected to wear medical grade masks as if they are going to school at chernobyl but he can have some fun with magic johnson and take his mask off for a brief moment or the entire game again, is he too important his fun and his photo op. just more important than the comfortability and the learning success of american students as well as the rest of us who quite frankly who would like to free our faces. >> todd: who cares that people are drawing pictures of themselves without noses and

mouths. as long as i can enjoy the nfc championship game all good. >> ashley: it will be interesting to see what happens in the super bowl at the stadium. are. >> todd: i can guarantee the players will be wearing helmets. tomi, lehner, thank you. let's do this tomorrow. >> ashley: same time, same place. >> todd: with that "fox & friends" begins right now. >> growing concern crime surge is not being taken seriously jeanine pirro talking about soft on crime consequences i mean, what what does that even mean. >> you are so locked up in your ivory tower that you have no idea what americans really care about. >> record numbers of migrants pouring into the u.s. >> one of the fundamental things we have got to do is if we figure out why they are leaving in the first place. >> they are never going to get their job right when they misidentify what is and is not a crisis. >> united states and russia facing off u.n. security council. >>
