8:01 am
places people are under attack. i am harris faulkner and you are on the faulkner focus. he is getting to come here and the president will soon meet with mayor eric adams. and in just the past week we have seen our cities seek streets turn into a sea of blue surrounding the iconic st. patrick's cathedral. for the funerals of two police officers who were murdered. today could be a chance for president biden to shake off his crime soft on crime image with a boost that he might get from mayor adams who is a former cop bringing back the nypd anti- gang units. the president's own words and lackluster action on the crime crisis may do little to satisfy these critics or voters. >> i think we all know this is basically a photo up for joe biden. he is cratering in polling so i bet there's a bit of a panic going on at the white house and they are saying how can we
8:02 am
salvage anything great will send him to new york city now that there are two more cops that have been slain and murdered because of the high crime rates all across america under his watch. trend when she is right about that. here is more reality that will ring. homicides are storing in democrat lead cities. people who say they are afraid to walk to shops or restaurants, take public transportation such as the subway, or even get in their car. they are speaking up. past coupf years is not working. now it appears they are trying to run away from their words and their policies. >> we have to reimagine public safety. and how we do public safety in our country. >> not only do we need to defund, we need to dismantle and start anew. >> talking about the reduction of our nypd budget.
8:03 am
>> i am for defunding the blaze. >> i support the defund movement because this is about the investment in our communities which have historically been divested. >> harris: in focus now, ari fleischer. great to have you here on the focus. the president we know is about to take off and come here. what headwind as he faced? can he take action at all to help cities like, new york in the crime crisis? >> he can if you would change his spots. here is, i got to say what you just played made my skin crawl. somebody who was raised and has always had law enforcement respect, so much of the biden administration has done is wrong. when i put kamala harassing about reimagining law enforcement. when she said when she was running was that they remind her
8:04 am
of the kkk. you can't change your stripes. this is who the number of new democrats are. they are the defund the police member joe biden has a chance know if you would come out against these liberal prosecutors and he could do it in manhattan today. manhattan has a new prosecutor at da to d criminalizes including a risk resisting arrest. when i was raised, i was taught you respect the police whether they are right or wrong, you do what they were told. don't resist erects. now a prosecutor noah prosecutor is decriminalizing resisting arrest? >> harris: it would be helpful perhaps if the d8 were at the table today or in some place where the president might get a word with him. that liberal da doing all the things you say. this mirror is brand-new. we are not sure yet what he will do. we have seen him say that non- american citizens can vote in
8:05 am
local elections, but we haven't seen what he's going to do about this yet. a, new york post op ed argued democrats should be blamed for soaring crime and fallen police officers and here is how they put it. progressive seized on community concern over george floyd's 2020 death at the hands of a minneapolis cop. to press their sinister race baiting, and he lost enforcement agenda. democrats, right up to president biden and vice president kamala harris pandered for them for a political advantage in the 2020 election. ari, your reaction? >> the murder of george floyd sets off so much that had so many deep feelings that were so wrong. i think it was absolute 100 percent legitimate movement merrily among young people, primarily black americans that protested that killing. they peacefully protested and should be respected.
8:06 am
they are part of america's tradition. i think they help achieve some good in waking people up. the rioters, the looters, the people kamala harris raise money to bail out commit know, 100 percent wrong. that needs to beaten be denounced. they let the precinct burn, that is what set the message to cops that their political leadership will cut and hide come, but will run and not have their back as they say. it's only gotten worse in seattle, portland, and around the country since the defund movement started dominating. the group of people i was raised and will always respect highly and deeply, people that wear that badge and take the risk keep us safe, they deserve our backing, they deserve our love, they deserve our respect. they haven't had it since the tenth precinct burned. >> you and to other cities southern democrat led
8:07 am
austin is on track to shatter its homicide record after a brutal january. that city in texas 11 homicides just last month. 89 in all of last year, so we are ahead of that blood be schedule, which was a record for the city at that point. this city of little rock, arkansas declared violent crime a public health emergency. amid a surge in shootings there. at least ten people were injured in shootings just over this past weekend. ari, you and i both know, little rock, arkansas is like the 115th city size wise in the united states. this isn't new york. when you see little rock buckling like that under democrat led or democrat leadership, what do you say? >> i will make the case again it began with the burning of the tenth precinct, as soon as people realized you can get away
8:08 am
with crime, it sent a signal. it's not like it was an isolated or remote incidents, it was shown all over the world. going into crime is a rational decision unfortunately for some people. the to things they first look at, and it guides everything, how much time can i make if i do it, and what is the likelihood of getting caught. what becomes of rational decision. the problem we had after the tenth precinct and after the george floyd murder riots and arson, was you had those local da saying that the cause is just, and there were four i will back off, that's what put the police in the spot they're in. so much of these crime problems
8:09 am
would be does go wrong and it's on video and people can see it everywhere, that made police stand back. >> to hear you say the criminals can take a look at what they see across the country and then come up with a strategy for themselves, it makes it harder to even take why politicians can't, why the president of the united states can't. if the criminals are going to criminal and. it leaves these voters in a who do i call in to help me at this point at the criminals that are going to be best then the guys that our fighting the crime. i don't mean the cops, i mean the leadership. to give the police has the tools. every police officer in america knows what they tools are, they are prohibited from using the tools. they backed off if you're a mayor or a da will cut and cave is soon as the going gets tough. that is why you see the police
8:10 am
making their rational decision to stand back, let the crime happen, they shrug their shoulders and they say i wish it wasn't like this, but i'm not going to risk my life come up my career, my pension if i go in there and somebody resist arrest. resisting arrest is a violent act. so you've got to use some level of force to stop somebody if they are resisting. then the policy since a resisting arrest is decriminalized and all the rest, the police are going to make that rational called to stand back, and who suffers? the poor. could you use it when the going gets tough, we are there now. i don't know what they're waiting for. the. the going is tough. i mentioned in the lead into this and president biden was getting on air force one, just a couple of minutes ago, the people are expressing fear to even watch walk into their cars. carjackings. a lot of focus on guns and illegal guns, but it's not to shootings creating havoc.
8:11 am
carjackings are through the roof. here is some chilling video caught on a home security video just last night. to get that is bone chilling. police say the suspect was armed with a knife, they still haven't found that person yet. the victim that you heard screaming suffered fortunately minor injuries, she was screaming for her life. i carjackings are up. that is not, you can't walk to your car in dc.
8:12 am
if you get the big problem here is joe biden's, kamala harris, and much of the democratic leadership, the biggest crime in america as whether a to stay alive ten days or 15 days of early voting. if you only live ten instead of 15, you are suppressing the vote rate it's a crime. they spent more energy, time, and trouble them they have the things that millions of people in their everyday lives fear which is crime on the streets. they are so out of touch, and if anybody like i did who grew up in and around new york city in the 60s and '70s and i lived in washington and the 80s and 90s, you know crime is palpable. it makes people leave cities, abandon places. when i lived in dc back then and there was a cocaine problem that led two huge proms with crime, i would walk down the middle of the street on the dotted yellow line when i would walk home at night. i wouldn't walk in the sidewalk in case there was somebody in the sidewalk. it changes your behavior it makes you fearful.
8:13 am
this is the big issue that democrats have got to come around too. to get not just for the safety of their own seats, because it's going to change the behavior of voters as well. but they won't be as safe either. we saw violent crime in georgetown this week. that's right down the road from the white house. it affects everybody now. ari fleischer formally worked in the white house, we have a president coming today, it was great to have you today in the focus off the top. >> while we deal with covid mandates at a federal level, canadian say this is old we are getting bold. canada's truck drivers walked a border crossing with montana and shut down traffic in the capital city of ottawa. they canadian freedom convoy last week is protesting over truckers who are not vaccinated, those who are not, have now lost their right to cross the u.s. canadian border. the prime minister tried to paint them all as a fringe group, but the main stream as

8:15 am
driving some city residents a bit crazy. >> i think it's pretty silly. i think definitely it is pretty disruptive to the community to have everyone nearby for sure. >> the weekend to come may mean more protesters will arrive and the city's frustrated police chief said more city leaders the police alone may not end the literal and political gridlock. >> moore this demonstration continues, the more it risk lipophilic safety increases. every option is on the table to resolve this demonstration. that said, there may not be a policing solution to this demonstration. >> the chief knows that these demonstration is local, provincial, and national, but also acknowledged there are international elements as well. it started as a massive convoy of canadian pushing back across

vaccine mandates that were put in place on january 15, but the protest has galvanized citizens on both sides of the border. i go fund me page has raised millions of dollars for the platform temporarily froze that cash inflow until further details were received on how the money would be spent. organizers say it will go to fuel, food, and lodging. the prime minister spoke yesterday thinking the nearly 9s which he says are vaccinated saint just like we have relied on you, you can rely on us to stand with you. harris? to keep molly, thank you very much. we've shown you the busloads of illegal immigrants that our government is shuttling around at our expense. we are now all part of this bursting border problem with mostly men here illegally, not families and we had first been told, but mostly adult males, popping up in our communities. now, republicans want answers.

>> many people in government in bad faith got a taste for power. >> the american economy like a fish, he has, did it impact the whole world, he has. i think it's very appropriate that we take a look back and admit our mistakes. >> democrats and health officials face enormous pressure to end the lockdowns after the bombshell mega study found they were not as effective as some of the experts claimed they would be. will we see a return to normality then? house minority leader kevin mccarthy in focus next. cond hon. romance is in the air. like these two. he's realizing he's in love. and that his dating app just went up. must be fate. and phil. he forgot a gift, so he's sending the happy couple some money.

of government edicts that made note saying to fix since. >> republican senator rand paul after bombshell analysis found lockdown orders reduced covid 19 deaths by just a fraction of a present. .2 to be exact. the white house has defended lockdowns in the past as a necessary step to fight the pandemic, but now the white house plumes it wants to move forward. >> the president's view is that we are not going to live like this forever. we don't want to live like this forever, and our objective and our goal is to on ending this pandemic as we know it today. to get this new york post op-ed with the headline we now know lockdowns barely work in europe is over covid. when where our leaders finally open society? kevin mccarthy, house minority leader. congressman, great to have you in focus today. first of all, talk to me about your reaction to this meta-analysis which in 24

studies that johns hopkins looked at. >> john hopkins, this is what so many people have been talking about for so long, but it does not really have an effect on whether how well we are able to go through it, but what does it have an effect on? how many people miss the cancer screening, the mental health, the suicide for young children. this shutdown is going to have effects for decades to come. children being held back in school, it not been educated in the process. the mental health damages that will go on for years. government should lift all of these lockdowns, but the white house is says one thing and does another. gavin newsom just this weekend at a football game said he is going to make the nfl hand out masks again. nancy pelosi getting her hair done with no one else is supposed to. they have rules for the, but not for me. that's how they've gone about doing this it's all about power. why do they maintain that power and continue to do it?
8:25 am
why are you going to have a state of the union when the speaker says you can only invite 25 republican members to hear the president we have people more people on our airplanes that we fly into washington. somehow, it's a show for the public and now we know from a data that it does not work. >> wait a minute, so your covid restriction is to bring 25 republicans to the state of the union? doesn't that immediately tell the public that, and we are a republic, so that should have been right to, that our status is very good if we can't open up to the people who are leading the country and all of you are vaccinated and so on and so forth. 49 republicans have sent a letter to you and leader mcconnell in the senate pledging to shut down the government overt federal vaccine mandates. here is how it reads in parts. the letter tells the leaders that their party as reaching another crossroads where they must once again decide whether
8:26 am
they will vote to fund the federal government that is enforcing grammatical mandates, on the american people. right now, vaccines are required for federal workers, on sun cap tractors government military members, civilian defense employees, veterans affairs employees, federal healthcare workers, foreign residents applying to emigrate. now come at last i, white house staff, are they under a mandate for vaccines? you know? >> i'm not sure whether the white house does it or not. they make so many mandates, but they don't make it upon themselves. they love to have rules, but they get to go around them. i think as americans, we are ready to move on. we are ready to have are lives back. we are be ready to be back to health, back to school, back to her work. what they continued to do is bring this up and what we found out is we are now having more people that have died from covid under joe biden then we did prior and he has had vaccines.
8:27 am
i think in this latest study, we now know that it does not work the shutdowns. america needs to move on because you want to make sure you're getting your screening for cancer. you want to make sure your kids are in school. sure they can wear the masks. we've seen what that will do. these young children are having a hard time with speech because they can't see the mouth of how to pronounce words or not. it is a challenge for these kids and we're doing lung damage for a long time to come. they have so many things they have done wrong from inflation that they continue to build to the border that is left wide open where we have people on the terrorist watch list. these are something that people don't like talking about. the amount of sentinel coming across the border is enough to almost kill every single american up to seven times over. do you know into weeks, it will come off the schedule one meaning you won't have a mandatory maximum sentence going and if you come across it in
8:28 am
your traffic in this. the democrats have held this up. we used. >> i want to just light and with this because you're talking about that and democrats have been pushing back on the sentinel and getting something done to stave this off, but it's all tied to the border. , and that is, i don't know it's complicated for them because i guess they have progressives that they have to answer to. but i want to get your opinion on it. wouldn't we all agree that generating wouldn't we all agree as americans those are our babies. that shouldn't be political. what is the problem on the other side of the aisle class. >> the number one cause of age is between 18 and 45. they want to do it just goes down two of the crime across our country. they do not want to have it as a schedule one drug. so because if you get caught
8:29 am
trafficking fentanyl they will have a sentence that will put you in jail. they don't want that to happen. even president biden has come out and said keep it schedule one but don't put them inventories and that someone has to go to jail. i think if someone is trafficking drugs that is the number one when it comes to death in americans age 18-my 45 you should be held in jail because now every single city in america is a border city because you know where it comes from? china. it comes across our border and the cartels are even making more money. there is not one day, just last week i was reading in california a mother was income to the funeral of my son because i want you to learn what has happened. you got a headline today of an actor, the bot heroin they didn't know it was laced with fentanyl. this is what's happening and every single city. new york, and bakersfield is away from the border, but that
8:30 am
means now it's clear across our border and in to weeks it will come up the schedule one and the democrats voted against it to not keep it on. why would they do that? >> that's what border agents and law enforcement along the border has told us. fentanyl has made every single state in america a border state because of its great thank you for being in focus. we appreciate your time. >> thank you. >> a new senate report exposing the quote failures of the biden administration with the afghan withdrawal. even some democrats expressing outrage. plus. to get there ought to be serious consequences that would deter vladimir putin from doing what i think he will end up doing. once he does a ds to pay a big price for other people will follow his example and do the same thing. >> at the situation between russia and ukraine is getting worse. president biden as pushing for a diplomatic solution. he is sending in some serious backup just in case putin

>> harris: the president deploying 3,000 troops two eastern europe to provide support for our nato allies. at the same time, the white house says it won't call russia's potential invasion of ukraine now imminent anymore. white house press secretary jen psaki says they are worried about the messaging. you know what? we are worried about it too because we need to know the truth. >> we stopped using it because i think it sends a message that we weren't intending to send which was that that we knew that president putin had made a decision. the vast majority of times we talked about it we said he could invade it any time, that's true we still don't know if he he's made a
8:38 am
what i mean by intent is how he has his forces postures. if you look at what he's got. he has postured to invade if he wants two. he has rained ukraine and belarus and the northeast to the east and the south as well. he has got it pretty well surrounded and can do what he wants to do at a moments notice right now. he's got the structure to do it and it depends on what putin wants to do. i think he's playing the waiting game and playing it well. he's got us off balance and the rest of the world off balance. >> i wrote down what you said, the order of battle. i would imagine, we don't have your acumen and experience, so when you get together with others who think see things as clearly as you do, i would imagine that's not hard for you to see the order of battle. can the white house not see it? >> look, here is, they see it. our intelligence is so good, but

classified and unclassified, we know what he's moving to the type of units he's moving. and frankly, he's got himself set if he wants to go he is going to go. the real tell, if he hits them with a cyber attack and then he follows with what we called the vd v which is special operations and airborne forces, then he's coming. i don't think he's ready to go yet. he's playing the diplomatically. i don't think anything will happen with the olympics going on. i think there is going to be a to week gap where he finds out what is going to happen diplomatically. i don't think he will try to take all of ukraine if he does go. he wants to go and he will take the eastern third, that is east of the river which is predominantly and it aligns well with that part of russia all the way down to crime area. if you wants to go, that is when he will go, but it's not going to happen during the olympics. >> how much of a problem is that
8:40 am
for the country. we wind it alone when we took the 3,000 troops. hooton puts up 127,000 and we say three, but the people and nato are still our friends. if we get in trouble if they go into invade, we are still on the hook. >> remember, harris, ukraine is not a nato country. >> they are not, but their neighbors are. >> their neighbors are, but i don't think putin will ever attack it nato ally. he's not that crazy. 38 countries against you because you have russia and belarus as well, and then the sheer volume of troops that would be absolutely suicide if he does something like that against a nato ally because he knows we are going to enforce article five which is an attack on one an attack on all. he's not stupid, he's very strategic how he plays it and he knows what he's going to do in his own mind. frankly, sending troops into poland right now into romania, it is really not doing anything. to get i wondered about that.
8:41 am
>> it's messaging that doesn't mean very much for it. >> i would imagine that's why others aren't jumping on the bandwagon. speaking of, because i want to get to afghanistan another area where our nato allies were really left out in the front yard by this president. republicans on the senate foreign affairs committee have released a report that says it is clear the biden administration failed to execute an orderly withdrawal. there was a lot of bipartisan outraged over the botched exit in this report no different. let's watch. >> i am deeply dissatisfied in fact downright upset with the lagging efforts in evacuating at risk afghan allies from that country. these men and women and their families put their lives on the line to protect our troops and diplomats, and we are feeling to rescue them. >> when you lose rick

8:43 am
to me it's inexcusable to leave americans behind. i said that early on. we should have told the taliban we are not leaving until we've got every american accounted for. and we've got all the friends out of there, then you can have the city if you wanted. they gave us that opportunity. we are not ready to come to kabul if you want it until you say it's ready to come in and we just ignored it. >> unbelievable the sacrifice those 13 americans and all those people who helped us come up commit many about them being slaughtered now. general kellogg, thank you for being in focus. the hits keep on coming for the current president. a new op ed said he is entering worst president ever territory. the power panel is next, plus this. >> if you want to bring medical evidence to me, you are really endangering people. >> what part of science as if you take off your mask and hold
