they are said to meet with new york leaders, the president is expected to roll out a strategy to stop the flow of illegal guns and support local law enforcement. is it too little too late? so far, homicides in major cities like atlanta, baltimore, milwaukee, in minneapolis our way up compared to the start of 2021 and a new york city although mergers murders are down robberies and carjackings have spikes. police reporting more than 1,000 robberies in the city this year alone. of course, the deaths of new york city cup jason rivera and mora reminded everyone how the men and women who keep us safe are putting their own lives at risk. far left democrats have made it clear where they use stand on the police. >> popped talking about the reproduction of our nypd budget and defunding the budget. >> not only do we need to defund, we need to dismantle and start anew. >> i support the defend defund movement because this is about

you know, john james when you spoke about thinking and honoring those who served, both in blue and in our military as you did, my heart just goes out to the families. the choice that those men and women have made to keep the rest of us protected and to defend us is something that cuts across generations. you see a lot of legacy in particular police family so it's heartbreaking to think we may see some of that legacy broken because the white house and others and democratic led cities, those leaders don't see the value in that part of the community. it is more than just that officer, that is a whole legacy of service within a family. and it informs the neighbors on their streets of patriotism and safety and security, so you are shaking us to our core now by not seeing suffer, both morning for those we lose, in blue, and

i think it's instructive for what's happening in russia. >> wright, axios reporting from leaks from the white house that there were some meetings of the last moment and it highlights just how many crucial decisions were not yet made, were not yet resolved in the 11th hour. recall back in april is when biden said we were going to pull everybody out by september 11th. apparently in those last final hours in these meetings, still up for determination where the details about what we are going to used to transport americans as well as the resettlement programs, those who were trying to get out. all of the afghan allies that but their life on the line to support hours. i think it just begs the question how much more evidence do we need that this feckless leader in the white house is not that, he is frankly absolutely appeared to the tune of don james pointed out, 13 americans lost a service member lives. what more could have been done to prevent that?

you already heard from the president this morning. i think you've probably seen a statement that secretary austin put out commending the professionalism, skill, readiness exhibited by our forces in this operation. particularly with the extensive regard towards safeguarding innocent life that we new is located there at the target's location. while the cowardly acts of a small number of those followers resulted in the tragic death of at least three innocent civilians, the calculated efforts of our forces, succeeded in protecting more than ten women, children, babies. these efforts included a deliberate decision by the president to execute a raid on the location as opposed to an air strike. despite the additional risk that

that decision puts on our forces. as i think you've probably seen, in addition to all of that is they got to the site, they called out to everyone in the building giving them an opportunity to leave peacefully, quietly. and for abdullah to surrender himself. of course he chose a different result. although there was no u.s. tragedies one of the helicopter operators did suffer mechanical error early on in the infiltration phase of the operation. the helicopter was able to depart the target location and land at another location further away off-site. but ultimately it was determined that further use of the helicopter was not practical.

conduct these kinds of operations because isis remains a threat. there's going to be some information that you will want to know that we are simply not going to be able to provide so that we can preserve our flexibility to connect these sorts of operations going forward. >> a couple of questions on the civilians. if i heard you -- that i hear correctly that you said you verified three civilians were killed? also could you elaborate on perhaps explain a little further what secretary austin meant in his written statement about looking into the possibility that u.s. actions might have resulted in harm to civilians? what are you referring to? >> we know that when abdullah detonated an explosive device which obviously held him, we know that there were three people on that third floor with him that were also killed. his wife, and two children.

so that's who i'm talking about when i talk about the three. we also know as we were able to safely evacuate ten individuals. six from the first floor. an adult male, an adult female, and four children. and for children from the second floor, which our forces were able to safely get out of the building. on the second floor, where one of abdullah's at tenets engaged our forces, actually one of his lieutenants and the lieutenants wife firing back at our forces, they were killed. it appears as if a child was also killed on that second floor. that as for your second

question, were always mindful of the potential for civilian harm, or harm to innocent life. while the strong indications are here that the lives taken in this operation were caused by abdullah and his decision to blow himself up and everybody else with them on that third floor, as well as the resistance of his lieutenant on the second floor. we are willing to take a look to examine and make sure that there wasn't any action we might have taken that could've also caused harm to innocence. >> do you mean indirectly or directly? >> in any way. i think were just going to take a look and see. right now the strong indications are that -- to a degree there is a loss of innocent life. it's a loss called by

justice reward for this tip? how long have you had this intelligence? you referred to the three innocent civilians, but was the wife of how she abdullah be considered an innocent civilian? >> i'm going to leave it the way i characterized it, jen comeau are going to continue to review and look at this. i think i'll leave it the way i described it. as for the reward i don't have any updates on that. there was a $10 million reward on his head, but i don't have any updates on whether that reward can or will be claimed. on the intelligence i will just say that this operation was literally months in the planning. a strong basis for being able to conduct an operation like this is valuable intelligence. intelligence that comes from multiple streams. without getting into more detail
