they won't give us. thank you very much. you know, carley, i have to take a moment to speak about the border patrol agents who spent so much time with their resiliency through a pandemic and through this administration undoing every single trump policy that had border under control continue to stay in the fight now being shot at the second time in two months like this. it is unbelievable and it comes at unprecedented time would not only are the numbers so high like we've never seen them before as we head into this new fiscal year 2022, but you also have people, as brooke mentioned from all over the globe, not just from mexico or the northern triangle of what a they are coming from syria, ukraine, russia, pakistan, and this is a situation that the border patrol hopes they would never see because that means cartel broadening their reach, not just latin america. they are not pulling people from

the entire globe but the former border chief who says this is no longer a border crisis, this is truly regardless of where politics are a national security crisis. >> carley: we have been talking about that "cbs news" poll that shows 36% of americans agree with president biden's handling of illegal immigration border issue. i see some polls close to 25%. so you have to wonder why some administration reversing court? it is all political. if the biden administration starts enforcing border laws, they will get such pushback from progressives they don't want that. i think they are playing the long game. one of the first things president biden did was try to legalize 11 million illegal immigrants and congress blocked that. i think they are banking on that one day happening. if illegal immigrants to become legal citizens, that means they can vote. democrats are thinking they will

vote democrat. >> griff: you are seeing this pushback. for the first time ever when a border patrol agent in uniform is actively pushing back against a sitting secretary, against sitting border patrol chief. you see the border patrol is broken and that the camel that broke that back was the fact that you are having a single adult release. that is something border patrol thought they would never see, but yet, we know from the numbers from december that 45% of those released, 79,000 of 178,000 were released through title eight. it is an unbelievable situation and not getting any better. >> carley: it everything is backwards. the border patrol agents, they are not politicians. they are law enforcement officers. the cartels are essentially using them as a way to make money. there is also drugs flying across the southern border. then you have the feel for the

native and new yorker dr. janette nesheiwat to speak out demanding new york's leaders step up and control the twitter trolls. she wrote for fox news and dr. nesheiwat thank you for taking time. why did you feel compelled to write this op-ed and why are you speaking out? >> good morning, griff. my heart breaks when i have patience coming in with us old, black eyes, with facial fractures and lacerations. and many tell me i don't know, i was attacked from behind without any reason at all. it is so important to get to the bottom of this and figure out what is going on. yes, we deal with gangs, illegal guns and drugs. one of the huge issues that has been a unaddressed for so long is the aspect of mental illness. here in new york city, we have over 300,000 new yorkers with mental illness. up to 20% of the inmates either have schizophrenia or bipolar

disease or severe depression. so it is so important to tackle these issues. it is not the gun that kills people. it is the person behind the gun pulling the trigger. so we really need to look at the bottom line and figure out why it says crime happening? figuring out ways to improve. i do like the fact here in new york city, they would have more funding allocated to mental health resources, access and availability. we will see more hospital-based violence intervention programs, which is fantastic. but we also need to make sure we have improved reform when it comes to criminals and the punishment. we need to make sure that if someone commits murder, brutal crimes, they receive the appropriate punishment and not let free to roam the streets and result in deaths like officer rivera or officer jason mora. young lives lost for no reason at all by repeat offenders. >> griff: dr. janette nesheiwat, the funding here is what the

president said in new york yesterday. listen. >> the answer is not to defund the police. it is to give you the tools, the training, the funding to be partners, protectors, and know the community. >> griff: is he hitting the mark, dr. nesheiwat? in part, absolutely. we need to back up the police officers. our police officers and firefighters -- i don't think people understand they risk their lives for every single day when they put on that uniform and go out to protect us, protect the community. when there are no repercussions for the crimes that criminals commit, that ushers in more violence and emboldens criminals. it is so important to take action and make sure we have a d.a. who realizes we are losing lives and shedding blood unnecessarily. we can't wait any longer. we need immediate action. >> griff: you actually in your op-ed a five-point prescription for how to solve this from

tackling mental illness, homelessness, education. you put the protest of safety in the law and order but what do you mean by that? >> absolutely. i think it is so important that we come together as a community and realized that safety is first. enough is enough, no more bloodshed. we need to make sure the police commissioners and police officers, mayor, governor work together along with prosecutors to make sure we are keeping the community safe. that is why public safety, law and order is a big issue right now. it is not the pandemic of covid but massive crime. >> griff: dr. nesheiwat with fixing crime, have a great friday. go to foxnews.com to check her out, carley. >> carley: speaking of the pandemic johns hopkins had covid lockdowns had little to no impact on stopping the spread. but they impacted the american economy in a major way.

to rule with several restaurants, joining me now, good morning to you, chef. it said that lockdowns only reduced death by .2%. after all of that small business owners have been through the past year, how does that make you feel? >> i mean, it doesn't surprise me in the least bit. going on this little tour talking about for so long. i've always been apprehensive to say that because of covid, look what has happened to the restaurant industry? i knew all along it wasn't necessarily covid, right, this has been reshaped, redefined by local, state, federal politicians kind of rewriting this restrictions, mandates that have completely thrown a wet blanket on retail overall. >> carley: and just came out and said it would take a long time for restaurants to get back to prepandemic levels. what are some of the biggest challenges you are facing?

>> to that point on that study, which i did read come i think it needs to be picked apart a little bit because what we really need to look at is the geography of restaurants. cities have been completely torn apart. restaurants have left cities altogether and know they are struggling so hard. we are the tip of the iceberg. counterpoint that two areas where restrictions and mandates and the strong places like florida, and areas in the midwest. nuc there is still a restaurant boom. when you dig into the numbers overall, you realize that his number one, right? you have to get rid of the restrictions and government has to get out of restaurants but also psychology. we have government officials telling people not to go out to eat. the fear of being draped on the mind-set of all consumers by virtue of the government, right? a lot of health officials have crossed the mentality. i think it is five, ten years that we actually start to get people out of this dark closet

of fearmongering. just so scared to go out. you have fauci saying don't go out to eat in a restaurant and he owns part of the restaurant so i don't know what he's doing. and second to that is the shift from money going to main street to silicon valley. a 5% of your sails lead into the pandemic or take-out and delivery and third-party delivery, now 60% and you lose $0.30 on every dollar whenu use a third-party delivery app, although it is a necessary evil. while sails may be steady, when you look to 2019 to 2001, profits are down because people are losing so much money to the silicon valley. i hate to say it, but they are greedy. the amount of money that they are taken from the restaurants. >> carley: you said you had been talking about this over the pandemic and it shows. you definitely know your stuff. luckily for you, the majority of people according to several polls want to get back to normal life. so hopefully we can get

network president of ten years has two abruptly resigned because of consensual relationship with another single executive? not one person on the planet believes this. yet, this is what cnn's media correspondent is trying to push the bottom line chris cuomo apparently has the goods on his former boss. he wants to get paid out on his contract at this point. into think that nobody knew about this relationship or cnn's media correspondent is suddenly shut shocked and surprised by this and close to him and still is texting multiple times on how to handle this. what happens from here is up to the news stakeholders from discovery when they take over. they will look at this culture at cnn and say, okay, who needs to stay and who needs to go to get the stench of a bus at this point? it is up to them. i will not wager against them. >> carley: your "game of thrones" analogy was very fitting.
