out this double standard have a point. >> jason: no, actually chop and chaz was a street protest, summer of love that resulted in the murder of two black teenagers, rape of a woman and vandalism. you have actual protest in canada, they are saying, this is going too far, this is insurrection of sorts, take it down. gofundme supported the chop chaz movement by keeping up the campaign, they tweeted it out actively. they were not hiding support. this is another example of big tech getting involved politically and taking sides. i don't have a problem if any companies want to just be left-wing companies, stop pretending otherwise and telling us this is a site for all and anyone can use it.

scary for anybody not just super high income earners, it is people who make a fair living all the way up to business owners. it really, it is not a business freendly or income friendly place to live and doesn't bode well for the future. >> todd: never really has been, but over the last few years it has gotten worse. before we go to the next topic, one final question here. you are a ceo and understand how business works. are you talking to fellow ceos and business leaders who say look, i've been threatening to leave california or new york issue but i'm actually doing it? >> yeah, it is -- i don't want to say shocking, prior, people were scared to talk about it. prior to this year, last year, prior to 2020-2021, people were quietly talking about it, people

perceived it to be a political statement. now it is no longer a political statement, no longer republican and democrat thing. end of the day issue not just ceo and business owners, the cost of living in somewhere like in california, upon eventually becomes too much and people are finally saying democrat and republican alike, well, if i have 20or 25% or 30% of my hard-earned income taken away and i also don't feel safe, we have homeless problems and the crime problems and we don't feel like we're welcome either as business owners or as just residents trying to feel kwfrl our families. that extra money is not buying

listening to our needs, not just this issue, but this was the final straw for the town and others to seek options to go to our neighboring counties that are more rural and responsive to our needs and wishes and our beliefs. >> carley: in erie county, there is buffalo, democratic stronghold, you represent a rural conservative area and feel liberal politics are affecting your way of life. how would this work? what are the next steps and are there drawbacks if you choose to secede? >> we are exploring the idea this time to see what the impact are one way or the other. the process is laid out in state constitution, as far as we know, it hasn't been done in this magnitude where you have several towns leaving. start out first with a petition process, where you get 20% of residents to sign on to it and that would force the legal process to start where you would

go out and do a full study on the pros and cons and have a public hearing and there would be public referendum and each county would have to accept the will of the town, example erie county we want to leave from would say, no, we had option to go to court. >> carley: it sounds like you are giving residents the choice here. it feels like this is part of a growing trend, that trend is people leaving liberal areas and moving to conservative spots, why do you think that is happening? crime, covid and are there lessons to be learned here? >> probably combination of a number of things issue the number one thing is our voices heard, unequal representation. i can use the example of covid
