[laughter] i had to write this down because i can remember it. democratic governors have full statewide mask mandates, and other democratic governors just have mandates in schools, and other democratic governors are lifting mask mandates in schools. the white house agrees with all of that, but if a republican governor does not, that they don't agree with. this is where it gets complicated. what specifically does the white house support? the white house says they are listening to the cdc. what does the cdc say?

they still support masks, yet masks hurt children. then they ask "who should the american people listen to: the cdc or the governors?" the cdc says "listen to the governors." then you ask the white house "what if the governor says no mask but the cdc recommends mask?" the white house says "listen to the cdc and also the governor." after mack they can't understand what they are they say they can't understanding what they are doing. science is changing so the democrats are changing with the science, but republicans did not follow the science but he got to the science before democrats? it looks like the republicans -- >> dana: i can see why you are confused. sean patrick maloney is a democrat in charge of trying to reelect house democrats.

california has gotten out of control. it's so bad that people are being asked to open up their own homes. charities in the san francisco bay -- 30,000 homeless reside, or asking landlords to allow the vagrants to rent apartments at low rates, and want families to open up spare rooms as a charitable act, or in exchange for a small stipend. want to do that, jesse? >> jesse: right next to jesse jr.'s crib. it made the problem less severe for a time. >> i looked it up today. i couldn't figure out who is responsible. as a matter of fact, california has the most homeless people in the country, and the best claimant. maybe, that's why they go there. there is an agency in the federal government, it's called the united states inter agency council on homelessness. it's the only agency at a federal level whose sole responsibility it is to end homelessness, and it works with 19 other federal agency. they have money, they say it's the lack of affordable housing. we have section 8 and all that stuff. that is what i read. i'm looking it up. >> i agree. >> i don't know the reason. >> mental illness. >> okay that's fine. what i let them of my house? not a chance! most of the people we are seeing who are on the street, taking

spend on this issue, and then i had to come out with a report that says "we have no idea how that was spent." if you talk about compassion, none of this is compassion. letting people sit there in their own filth is not compassionate in any way. i think that the government giving up and saying "can you take these people and because that would be helpful --" what is the next step? i think the question about how many people we are allowing into this country illegally, there is that question. would you take more people in? no. at some point, there has to be tough love, and i know greg has a lot to say on this. >> geraldo: are you into tough love? at >> greg: in many ways, geraldo, i am. situation up close. we don't need to pretend there are 2 million children down on their luck. these are not children. these are men, many are criminals, many are mentally ill, many are drug addicts. that's a fact you don't hear in these commissions on homelessness. they painted as the teary-eyed people down on their luck. these are not characteristics for a sound roommate, unless gavin newsom takes four of them into his mansion. you brought up the idea -- it's all about affordable housing. if you google stuff on homelessness, that is named number one hit, it's about affordable housing. that's a lie. it has no effect on the transient population. if you do not contribute to society through work, the only affordable housing has to be free. it doesn't matter if it's $300 a month or $200, they are not going to pay. the money for most homeless goes to drugs and alcohol. i know that is politically incorrect to say, but it is an
