2:03 am
what is different between this time right now when obviously numbers are going down and last year when numbers were going down? wait, that is right, we are closer to mid-term election part a and part b, we saw what they did in virginia, they swept virginia because people regardless of independent, or democrat, you are tired of the mask theater and ready to move on. democratic governor said, wow, we could be in trouble if we keep masks -- >> carley: are you saying it's political? >> todd: shocker of shocker. >> carley: i'm surprised biden administration didn't follow suit yesterday in the press conference, i thought they were going to say they are thinking about dropping federal mask mandate on flights and they could in coming days. right now they are sticking with the mask mandate, they are doing it out of fear. they were wrong in july when

2:05 am
has been seen from the economy to crime to social issues. now it is front and center when it comes to covid, they have a problem on their hands. you see rank and file democrat in rural america doesn't want masks anymore. they want sanity and this biden administration is focused on the wrong things and alienating democrats. >> carley: speaking of a real problem, did you see this? president biden's approval rating 39% and clear politics average of polls. >> todd: that is problematic for the white house. one warning members of the party to come up with a new strategy or they will be wiped off the map. live from washington with more. griff jenkins. >> griff: good morning, todd and carley. presidents claim they pay no attention to the polls, when you slump into the 30s, they are taking note. the latest average
2:06 am
shows 39% approval, harsh pill to swallow compared to the last three presidents at the same time. trump, obama and bush are all above 40% and comes as biden struggles with ukrainian conflict, pandemic and how to control crime and crisis at the southern border. republican critics are calling for a cognitive test. >> it is on full display for everybody in the country and world to see. president biden does not have cognitive to get the job done. i remind everybody, we did this with president trump. >> griff: another problem plague thanksgiving white house president's stalled agenda is big ticket items like build back better when press secretary jen psaki says needs rebranding. >> press sect. psaki: our objective is working with democrats, republicans if they decide they are for lowering the cost of prescription drugs to

"new york post" columnist mirandadevine says democrats may be ignoring questions about the president's mental fitness. >> the democrats will not allow him to do a cognitive test
2:08 am
because republicans are urging them to. they will not do it until they are ready to get rid of him, that may come sooner rather than later. at the moment, he is convenient while useful to them. they will keep him. the other problem is, i think by attributing his incompetence and the disasters in his first year to cognitive unfitness is not correct and really not fair to the american people. >> carley: bob saget's family revealing he died of head trauma, releasing a statement one month after the "full house" star's death. he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. no drugs or alcohol was involved. saget was found dead in his orlando hotel room on january 9 just hours about posting about a show he had in jacksonville.

and patriotic americans donating $5, $10, $1000 and saying i believe in this mission, go do what you can do. and then we're all volunteers. this isn't -- to start, financial help obviously, but also, the ability to bring people to the united states like a clear pathway to the united states, a better process for visas so these siv visas can get approved, we had a guy we've been trying to help for a long period of time to get his visa through. his visa got approved last week, that was two weeks after he was killed. the list of these things goes on and on. >> carley: nick, go ahead real quick, i want to get this in because it is so important and critical to what you are talking about, you wrote about this in
2:19 am
your "washington post" op ed that i mentioned, your safe houses are filled with women, children and men, if found, would be tortured and killed for the crime of fighting alongside america. i know this because every once in a while, one of them is found and the men who find them occasionally enjoy sending images of mutilated corpses on what's app. we are five months removed from this disastrous withdrawal, news cycle moved on, seems like this situation is more dire than ever, the people are running out of time. >> they are. news was a buffer for what was happening. there was period of time where taliban didn't want the world looking at them in a negative light. the lens is no longer on them, i
2:20 am
continuing is more dangerous for folks in afghanistan now and what makes it harder is that during that period of time, we were able to throw people on planes and stuff four or five hundred people out to safety. in the month or so after, we could run a flight a week, two flights a week, there was still a window. that window has closed. we are moving people over land and going through an arduous visa process to move peep toll another country or a different place. this is expense and i have slower. save our allies has rolodex of 22,000 people looking for help, it costs $500,000 to move a few. >> carley: you are doing it, doing the work, you want a clear pathway for people to get to the u.s., it seems like a simple request. leave it there.
