you think these warnings of severe crippling economic sanctions keep russia for being in involved in the global economic system would be enough to sway putin? >> i think clearly putin has materialistic type ambitions there's no doubt about that. if you get a look at what president biden has said to putin through the lens of his past actions as president, look how he handled the afghanistan debacle. look how he has not responded to major cyber attacks on this country from china and russia. look how is taken that appeasement type tone with iran nuclear deals taking back into a deal that's terrible to begin with. if you are pugin and looking at those actions were kind of trying to decide, is he serious is he really gonna follow through these things? when germany was at the white house last week, president

putin i'm sorry president biden said emphatically there would be no new pipeline coming in from russia after russia goes into ukraine for the german chancellor is right there. he did not affirm that statement he did not emphatically state that. that is my concern for those in the kinds of things that putin is weighing right now. and unfortunately have a president that's not projecting strength, things like this are going to happen. so before we think putin will do? how far do you think he will go? we bite off one or two providences or go over to the river which is half of that country and not go to kyiv? what you think were going to sing over the next few weeks? >> i will be surprise at the standpoint if they do nothing. i think they will probably go, the question is to what extent and how far? leavitt drawn a line supposedly and said look if you go in anywhere in the ukraine there's going to be massive consequences for you. let's see what those consequences are and let see if we can have the unity that

i hope we still have it. but this president is a very important point in his presidency. if he does not respond with strength and is able to unite his western allies on this, we've got a real problem on our hands for think it's a sad day when we have to tell 30,000 americans in the ukraine we cannot guarantee your safety because of malign actions on someone like pugin. that is a sad day for me. we were finally let's just talk about the russian issues for a second got the ukrainians dug in, seemingly not taking it as seriously. the president caught up to amass more troops where they promise of bloodshed and guerrilla warfare in the streets of their country to defend ukraine. what happens of russian start coming back in body bags question or could there be a boomerang? >> that is a big risk energy prices are not going to stay this high. it's a very bad economic

story as the protesters remain on the ground, alexa. >> hi molly, you are also here in ottawa. it is cold but that is not stopping the crowds from showing up. you saw thousands of new protesters just got here today sending a very strong message to the canadian government that they have had enough of the mandates they want to go back to their normal life. but the police have told these protesters several times they have to leave because they are blocking critical infrastructure and blocking areas right in front but the crowds behind me getting very excited. even honking their horns. we'll see how this all plays out here. the police have said they have to leave if they don't they're going to face hefty fines but we talked earlier as well the prime minister. this is what he had to say, take a listen. >> we will continue to use the resources we have. the resources to available to keep the city safe as we possibly can.

hardest hit by these protests. the latest supply chain crisis is just piling onto those carmakers are still working through from the pandemic. if parts and supplies are not showing up they can't just leave those parts out. these latest delays have forced gm, ford, honda, toyota to cancel shifter shut down operations at their plants. fewer cars are coming out to read that means fewer cars are available for folks to buy there's less selection and higher prices. even before this, the average price of a new car was up more than 10,000 dollars, just since the start of the pandemic according to jd power. now most of the automakers have found ways to work around these blockades in her back to full production. but if these protests continue, at some point those added costs will get passed along. there are also concerns about similar projects taking place here in the u.s. this past hour the vp of the truckload association was asked about that possibility.

patients are requiring hospitalization but how many patients are dying. i think the cdc data is not an accurate up-to-date depiction of where we are in this country. we had hundreds of thousands of cases we know so many americans are vaccinated especially most vulnerable which is critical. those are more at risk. it's important to understand that. i think don't think that graphic gives us and what we are dealing with and where we are right now. right now we're in such a great place the number of hospitalizations have gone down we have so many people americans being vaccinated. that's we need put our focus right now. raised emotions for the children should remain masks not talking time and to lift the mass commended for kids in schools. your thoughts on kids, masks, where we stand right now if

they think are working. is that true? >> as you mention detective simonson, also known as smiles everyone knew and loved him was taken from us three years by yet -- three years ago today by yet another violent criminal who never should have been on the streets to begin with. and nothing has gotten better. in fact three years later things have only gotten worse. we just buried two more police officers. and here's new york state senate majority leader and assembly speaker refusing to listen. the ones they are doubling down on would release more cop killers. we are not safe anywhere for this is not just the eric city at issue. new yorkers are not safe on the subway sprayed there's just a drive-by shooting on a major highway on long island in the suburbs. so know this is not working. before carl hastie is the assembly majority leader as the speaker. you point about another shooting, and other teenager 18 years old who was shot dead

on thursday night. in terms of their reform, there is the move to try to 16 -- 17 years old again as adults rate that is what they mayor once. how could that help when supporters are reducing the agent saying you can give them a second chance by putting them in juvenile hall and trying them in family court versus criminal court. >> a while, we are obviously seeing that removing any consequences for real life action are not helping. and maybe if we put deterrence and back in place and consequences of these kids would think twice before picking up a gun they were sitting in jail even if it's for a couple of years. maybe their parents need to be inconvenienced a little too. maybe they have to go to court maybe they have to know their child might be facing serious consequences. we need deterrence and we need enforcement. and we need services. services were promised would
