video showing tanks leaving their frontline positions. but that video and the exact location of those troops hasn't yet been verified. the ukrainian foreign ministry is taking all of this with grain of salt. basically saying we will believe it when we see it remember, there is not only more than 100,000 russian troops along ukraine's border. domestically in russia but also in neighboring belarus you have 30,000 troops. all of this coming as ukraine's president zelensky rally the troops and civilians here amid a very frightening time for ukrainian people. thieves threats of russia invading their country this could be an opportunity for deescalation both sides to step back from the brink. president putin is the only individual in the world right now who knows whether or not russia will invade ukraine. he is going to meet today with the german chancellor who was actually here in kyiv yesterday drying to hammer out some sort of diplomacy at the last minute. but, again, we don't know if

those reports of russian troops going back from their frontline positions are completely accurate or if this is some sort of information spin by the russians. they have used this type of information warfare in the past so we'll have to wait and see if we get any sort of satellite images that can confirm the statement that was release this morning by the russian ministry of defense. back to you. >> steve: trey, they can pull back a little bit. but they are probably still going to be within striking distance. >> absolutely. and you also have the eastern part of ukraine that is currently partially occupied by russian-backed separatists. and the parliament in russia today voted to recognize those two areas which would actually escalate this situation more. now, the vote will now have to go to the desk of president putin. but it creates just another uncertain situation on the ground here in this region. and so while you may have one piece of good news. deescalation and the russians basically saying they are opening to continuing talks

about nato leadership and the ability for ukraine to ever get membership to this defense alliance. you also have this parallel story developing right now where there is a hard eastern front. a frontline that halls remained for the past 8 years here in the region. and since 2014, thousands of people have died in basically what is a soft war. it hasn't been active conflict every day. but it is still a major risk for ukraine as the russians, if they decided, to could inch closer and closer to their territorial efforts. >> brian: if you were to look around and walk the street over the last few weeks, the reporters have said it seems normal. life is normal. is it still like that? >> absolutely. people aren't panicking. you don't see it a rush or banks or stores. when you ask civilians why they are not scared or afraid. they said they have heard this story before. they have heard the threats from moscow before. while this situation is slightly different because you have some troops staging on ukraine's border.

with each other. >> the white house has put on the table shifting some of our short range ballistic missiles and perhaps even a promise not to put them in ukraine. the russians have been stacking up these types of missiles for years and would have, i think, more to lose than to gain out of that type of argument. so at the end of the day, ainsley, i don't think putin has ever been serious about negotiations. i think this has always been to buy time. it takes a lot of time to move things like his pacific fleet, his northern fleet. his artic fleet. and a huge chunk of his army from siberia, all the way over to ukraine. and what you are seeing now in terms of what we might go. we might not he believe is more russian disinformation. >> brian: do you think they need to buy time or need some kind of face saving measure? should we go to a table with a

face saving measure whether we want to or not. to think he is going to pull back 120,000 troops for no reason because we kept talking is not logical? this would be the largest and most expensive thing to ruse in modern history if he doesn't end up going. and i think there are some things we could put on the table. i leave putin is owning that at the end of the day he can get what he has wanted, which would be an economic collapse of, a political collapse in kyiv and a window to put his own person in. i do think president zelensky has done a good job of walking a very fine line between telling his population and his military to get ready and the white house to hurry up with its lethal aid but, at the same time, preventing a panic in this capital and playing into putin's hands. is he in incredibly difficult situation and manages as well as he can.

you know, the other piece that is really striking to me is that we had a tech company that apparently had it contract or some type of responsibility to manage the white house's information systems. some of the most sensitive work in the nations and that an executive in that company is using that access into the white house toe dig up dirt on the president the commander-in-chief. and provide that false information over to the fbi. so what i want to know is how witting or unwitting these series of fbi executives were and how deep the scandal goes. >> steve: i think the general counsel for the fbi was interviewed because he is the one who reportedly, michael sussmann, the hillary clinton campaign lawyer lied to. and so that's why durham would be talking to him. >> brian: bigger question is, just on your gut feeling with

until, he was finally down with blood and people still had to pin him down until totally landed at. it took a lot to hold him down because he was a very big guy. >> brian: what role was he in and did he say what he wanted to do? did he have a motive, a suicide wish? >> it wasn't alcohol or mental or drugs. no one served alcohol in the plane and the guy was not drunk or anything. i don't know his motivation but he mentioned that he wanted to bring the plane down. he was violently attacking the crew and the passengers that were trying to subdue him and really trying to get into the cockpit. then he tried to open the plane door. >> brian: did he get close? >> you know, he was right next to the cockpit. he grabbed the plane door. he has a big guy in the air pressure may be makes it impossible to open the door, but he actually like shifted it a
