is it surprising that we had more traffic deaths in it 2021 than in 2020 when millions were staying home in the pandemic? in 2020 the economy came to a halt and so did everything else. that was peachy for the folks of the "new york times." they wrote in los angeles, businesses and schools have closed and drivers stayed off the roads. air pollution declined and traffic jams have all but vanished. march 2020. forget the massive unemployment and the kids suffering on zoom. look on the bright side. the climate was happy. >> a year ago los angeles had the worst air quality in the country. now we are seeing some of the best air quality in the world. >> the pandemic lockdown took 80% of passenger cars off the

7:06 pm
the king of electric cars elon musk came out against his build back better plan despite the plan it was loaded with green hand outs and subsidies. it's not just about swapping out gas powered vehicle for electric vehicles. no, no, it's about taking millions of cars off the roads all together. that becomes obvious when you read the details of biden's national road safety strategy that buttigieg was talking about it. its goal is getting to zero traffic fatalities which is ludicrous like zero covid. once you read the plan, it's clear road safety is secondary anyway. improved safety on the roadways is needed to support strategies

to achieve transportation greenhouse gas production. that means more walking and bike riding to make the roads safe. that means more green scooters and less driving for you. the "new york times" spilled the beans about that writing: they have to encourage people to drive less. blue states are leading the way. colorado, for instance, new state rules dictate if localities want to expand highways they need to offset the extra emissions with cleaner projects like bike trails and land use changes. if they exceed the emissions buckets the state can withhold
