percy is -- >> dana: i don't know how i feel about this. what do you think? would you put this on your dog? >> no. >> dana: are they making money? >> bill: a lot of people will buy this. ship us over some and we'll try it out. >> dana: i'll sniff it. "the faulkner focus" is up next. here is harris. >> harris: we begin with a fact that we all know. hillary clinton really wanted to be president. now a high-level investigation points to evidence that her campaign may have been so desperate to make that happen they infiltrated computer servers to look on donald trump's material. does she want to defend herself? apparently she doesn't because her question dodge is quite strong. i'm harris faulkner and you are in "the faulkner focus". special counsel john durham's

probe is turning the national spotlight back onto hillary clinton. durham is not accusing the former secretary of state of any wrongdoing. instead his investigation is focusing on the alleged actions of political operatives tied to her old campaign showing the video the daily mail caught up with clinton while she was in new york city earlier this week and asked if she is paid to spy on the trump campaign and gave a quick wave but ignored the question. the reporter was asking after new allegations were made her campaign paid for computer research that tied donald trump to russia. the allegations will be explored further later this year when former clinton campaign lawyer sussman goes to trial. he is charged with lying to the f.b.i. and pled not guilty. the legal team says it's to distract or inflame the media by bringing up hillary clinton. it is not getting much attention in other outlets.
8:03 am
the journal said we don't apologize for thinking it is news people might like to know about. the mystery is why the rest of the press corps wants people to ignore it? house republicans will dig deeper if they win the mid-term elections in november. mccarthy says he believes there is a lot to be uncovered. it depends on whether or not they win the election and have subpoena power or committee chairmanships. we expect to hear more from clinton in the coming weeks helping democrats in the mid-term elections and give a speech in new york for the state's democratic convention. >> harris: we already have a president who won't take questions many times like yesterday. we'll have to see if this wanna be president will do the same thing, hillary clinton. thank you. jason chaffetz fox news contributor. former utah congressman. jason in "focus." can hillary clinton continue to dodge? >> yeah, because they have a
8:04 am
media that is complicit in this as the "wall street journal" pointed out, the mainstream media was patting themselves on the back and handing out awards to each other for a story that ended up being totally false. you don't see them giving back the awards and correcting the story let alone asking her a tough question. they can pose this in the news and newspapers and do it online, they can do it but they don't even write the story, harris. so yeah, she will keep going because other than fox news, nobody is covering this story. >> harris: we are at fox as you said but we're doing it in all sorts of ways. even our contributors are doing it. you wrote an op-ed that lays out the 11 implications of the durham investigation that threaten to undermine president biden including the administration's clear conflict of interest. you say there is no justice if clinton and her mignons are not held accountable and the d.o.j.
8:05 am
is compromised. why do you say all of that? >> well look, we have more than 1,000 pages about the problems the f.b.i. from the inspector general. you have the court filings from john durham laying this out. the case is still pending and still going. while there is a question why do people like jake sullivan still have security clearances? why does adam schiff have a security clearance? he reviewed this classified information that went out to the media and lied about it. you can't do that. so there are so many questions here. i do believe the department of justice is compromised. if they do anything to get in the way of john durham and his investigation, then i just foreshadowing this has been the playbook in the past. >> harris: do you think it's possible that the d.o.j. would do that? that would not be in their best interest or that of this president.
8:06 am
>> well, you hope not but i'm telling you, these types of things have gone on in the past where suddenly the power changes and these investigations dry up and they decide we aren't going to fund that or pursue it or go after it. it happened to me personally. i was chairman of the oversight committee and we held somebody in contempt. hillary clinton's i.t. specialist. this is the guy who worked for four years for hillary clinton at the state department and they claim that he never sent nor received an email in four years working as the i.t. specialist. he didn't show up for our hearing. we held him in contempt. department of justice we aren't going to do anything. >> harris: they don't have to put their paws on it, they can brush it away. i had forgotten about that i.t. person. turning to the crime crisis in the new york city area where overall crime is up by 50% compared to last year. more crime on the roads and
8:07 am
subways, more robberies, more burglaries, more shootings. but mayor eric adams lashing out over the way he is being treated, he says, by the media. he says the press has it all wrong. >> if you want to acknowledge or not, i have been doing a darn good job. we just can't live in this all tern yat reality. people pick up the paper in the morning and define their reality. if you send the tone that we are in chaos, people will believe that. i'm a black man, that's the mayor. but my story has been interpreted by people that don't look like me. we have to be honest about that. >> harris: there are members of every avenue in terms of media here that are diverse and every avenue. i don't know what he is talking about. those feelings are strong with
8:08 am
him so he can feel that way but can't change the facts and reality that crime is horrible in this city and he was a cop for 22 years and he promised to have a different perspective. jason. >> yeah, and one of the first things he did was support the district attorney there in manhattan with some of these ridiculous just ridiculous bail issues where they just let people out. it took him as i count it 46 days to play the race card. i don't think that will solve things. he has bigger problems. he has a governor not willing to make any sort of reforms or even acknowledge the problems that are going on. he has a city council that is not willing to support and do some of the things that he is suggesting. but he also went out there and said it's okay for the 800,000 illegal aliens to go ahead and vote in their elections. >> harris: one of his first
8:09 am
decisions was to give non-citizens the right to vote within the city. alvin bragg that soft on crime liberal d.a. is also a black man. i have yet to hear anybody say he is soft on crime and the lower third next to his name. where is the mayor coming from? i do recognize it because you may remember in another city that is being riddled by violent crime the second anniversary of chicago's mayor lori lightfoot's inauguration announced she would prioritize interviews with journalists of colors adding in a tweet it's time for the news rooms to do better and build teams that reflect the makeup of our city. jason. we've seen this before. and this is not a reason why we have crime. it is certainly not an answer to take that crime down. why drop the race card? >> look, if you want to encourage more people and more diversity in the newsroom that's a good thing.
8:10 am
they won't flip the switch and change it in 15 days. i don't mind him making the case for that but don't blame them. i think it was yesterday the "new york post" goes to a dwayne reid because they are getting robbed every day while the photographer is in the store. guess what? a robbery happens and they print it on paper. that's the reality of what the mayor is dealing with. the fact they put these laws and put this enforcement in place that they haven't backed the cops. that's a problem the mayor hasn't solved. >> harris: i don't know how he can't at least solve that one. a beautiful eulogy he gave at the first of two officers' funerals here recently. and look, that was part of it. that's part of his journey. the other part is acknowledging that the subway crime is dangerous and not saying that people are having what was that a perception of fear? those were his early day words a month ago. i want to move to this.

a christian finnish politician is -- critics say the trial has larger implications about religious freedom around the world. a fox news op-ed with this. this is not just a problem for people in finland but what's to come here in america when a modern society chooses to push acceptance of radical ideologies rather than embracing the freedom of speech and religion that allowed us to flourish. >> you have some senators highlighting this idea. senator langford, braun and rubio highlighting the idea if you quote the bible will you be prosecuted. if that's allowed to be the case and the scenario in
8:12 am
finland they're afraid it will go across the globe. there are things in the woke agenda that are not compatible with those teachings in the bible. the people that believe in the bible and the teachings of jesus christ want to express that without being prosecuted by their governments. this is why it's so important. >> harris: a critic would say how can finland have anything to do with america? what's going on in canada is having something to do with what's going on in america. we take a different look at what the f word freedom might mean to some people. your last quick thought. >> yeah. these people -- the basis of our nation, the first amendment, the ability to express yourself and be in the public square and do so with a freedom, that's under attack with this woke agenda. there is conflict and i think it is a discussion we'll continue to have for a long period of time but i hope
8:13 am
freedom and freedom of expression wins. >> harris: i'm almost certain i can hear the critics saying it now they are going to make this all about what this isn't. and this is not necessarily a collusion of opinions. this is just the right to speak yours. i say it's maybe an extension of the cancel culture. we'll see how it works out. we'll follow the case in finland. great to have you in "focus." critics hitting the democrat-led states peeling back their covid mandates claiming it is all about politics. the fact that they're doing it is a good thing if they could just get to the schools and not prioritize all the folks who want to go to football games and adults. let's see if they can get there. dr. fauci has a take on the politics of it all. i didn't think that was his lane. and then there is this. >> i think it's in everybody's interest to find an off ramp if that's possible. it is hard to know exactly in

any circumstance what a country like russia or a leader like putin will do. >> harris: russian troops say they're pulling back. nato says they are still massing along the border of ukraine. what can we make of the mixed messaging now? day two on this. general jack keane in "focus" next. i brought in ensure max protein, with thirty grams of protein. those who tried me felt more energy in just two weeks! >> the citizens of russia, you are not our enemy. and i do not believe you want a bloody destructive war against ukraine, a country and people with whom you share such deep ties of family, history and culture. if russia attacks ukraine it will be met with overwhelming international condemnation. >> harris: no one was allowed to ask any questions there
8:20 am
because he turned his back. president biden's warning to russia coming as moscow claims they have withdrawn a number of military units from the ukraine border. however, nato says that's not true. accusing russia of amassing more troops at the border only a day after president putin's government in russia said they had pulled back. steve harrigan live for us in the ukrainian capital. steve. >> the problem simply just gets bigger. a few minutes ago the nato secretary general really making this a bigger issue talking about what he calls a new normal saying in the new normal in europe russia is trying to use its military to challenge nato and in the new normal russia is trying to use its military to force other countries to do what it wants. here is the nato secretary general. >> it's correct to say that we don't know what will happen but
8:21 am
we know what has already happened. and that is that russia has demonstrated their will to use force to try to coerce other countries. >> he also said nato would be organizing battle groups in different parts of europe to deal with this new normal so we can really see how this crisis in ukraine is really spiraling and getting bigger. now a major european crisis according to nato secretary general. according to russian state television the problem seems to be going away showing video of russian forces which they say are leaving the border with ukraine. tanks and trains and vehicles pulling away from the border in ukraine. russian president putin says he pulled back some forces. this is being flatly denied by nato and u.s. officials as well. they say the facts on the ground are the exact opposite and what is happening is russia continues to build its forces.
8:22 am
here on the ground in ukraine it is unity day. a lot of people predicted this was the day russia would invade. they are trying to make it a show of strength in ukraine coming out and showing their solidarity. this is a country with 150,000 troops on its border. it could have crumb eld from within due to that pressure and trying to show it hasn't happened yet. >> harris: great reporting. i bring in general jack keane, retired four star general in "focus." fox news strategic analyst and chairman for the institute for the study of war. let's start with the videos. i don't know, maybe they are file videos. what is russia trying to do? showing us it is pulling back but we know it's not true. >> well, it's pretty interesting what is happening here. what we do know through the study of war that i'm associated with there have been some movements from crimea of
8:23 am
deploy edforss in that vicinity to their home bases which are also in the vicinity. and that's largely the video from what i understand that the russians are actually showing. so the combat forces are still in the area. but i'll tell you what, harris, this is really fascinating. the united states information campaign releasing classified information to gain dominance over russia in terms of what they are doing and reveal their actions has largely put russia on the defensive. it started with the coup against zelensky in january. we released that information. the u.k. did the same. they were going to prop up a phony ukraine leader the take over the government. the phony video that they were going to bring actors in to do, also to set the stage for an invasion. false flag operations, some of those would be a little different for the same reason. sets the stage for an invasion. and then most recently what russia is still reacting to in my view is the administration's
8:24 am
emphasis on attack is imminent. it started last week and built to a crescendo over the weekend and what happened as a result of that, listen for what happened as a result of that. putin has been on the defensive for weeks saying i'm not going to attack, i'm not going to attack. on monday and tuesday both putin and his foreign minister get involved in opening up a diplomatic path and that path it appears to be somewhat real and at the same time showing these videos. they are on a defensive as a result of this information campaign that the united states is conducting and it is unprecedented the scale of what this operation is all about. >> harris: this would be a positive and at the same time the american people would have had to have been kept in the dark? what you are saying is in complete opposition to what we are being told. what we did know, general, was that yes, the white house through jen psaki, the white
8:25 am
house press secretary was saying don't use the word imminent anymore and suddenly it was wiped away. what you are saying it was all on purpose? >> yeah, absolutely. listen, you heard what took place. sullivan was up there saying that the conditions are set, they can attack any time. actually there was a release from a german newspaper that the attack was supposed to come on wednesday. but the release of this information, classified information that has been going on for weeks i think has put putin's information campaign quite on the defensive. i think it may have contributed somewhat to the opening of a diplomatic path here. it will be assessed for some time to come because the scale of this has never been done like this before. >> harris: did we have to get to this point is what the american people will be asking? why are we engaged so heavily with regard to ukraine? i think most people get ukraine is not a nato nation and we
8:26 am
don't want war in europe for our nato members that surround it and border it but at the same time what you are saying is everybody was lied to. we were lied to, putin lied to and it was necessary? look, i understand you can't tell everybody your strategy in wartime. i grew up with a war dad, i get that. i just want to know did we have to even get to this point? couldn't we have -- is there anything that would have been a better plan? i don't know because it sounds to me from what you are saying is putin was -- he also could not have believed it. >> we're here for one reason only. that is because putin moved troops in march of 2021 on the border of ukraine. those troops then numbered 90,000. he is using those forces to intimidate ukraine. he wants to bring them under his sphere of influence and force ukraine to stop looking towards the west. that is the problem. it is not the united states.
8:27 am
he is the problem. ukraine is not a problem here. putin is the problem. it is his aggression. one of the good things come out of this for the united states and for nato is despite some public disagreements over this issue in nato, this has actually enabled nato to focus on a singular issue which is bringing them together and that's russian aggression. and that is a good thing for nato. >> harris: the energy side of this has not been good for the united states. i don't want to look at this through rose colored glasses. the journey hasn't been bump free and we had a president who didn't want to answer any questions at times like yesterday. i'm just trying to understand what does the future look like and how do we get out of this without russia thinking it got a win? >> the future we don't know yet. this is largely in the hands and minds of vladimir putin.
8:28 am
he has appeared to open up very consciously and very publicly. we haven't heard much from putin but heard the last couple of days a diplomatic path. i think the issue will be here, he is looking for zelensky and for other nato members to make a statement that ukraine will not join nato. this is one of his obviously primary objectives. zelensky, if you watch his statements closely in the last two days has softened his position on that. the german chancellor said ukraine becoming a part of nato is not an agenda item for nato so why are we going to war over something that is not even on the agenda? that is a much different position than the u.s./nato position. there is some softening there that certainly would be a movement towards putin's position on this. whether that actually takes
8:29 am
hold remains to be seen. but remember, all those forces are there. >> harris: better news than what we have been given and getting. >> i don't think the united states -- if zelensky wants the make a public statement that he is not going to join nato and he has no intention to join nato he has a right to make that statement. our position would be your joining nato is based on your membership qualification that you want to join nato. president bush invited ukraine the join nato in 2008. our position is it's open to you if you meet the conditions. >> harris: general keane in focus today. that is interesting information and we'll follow it. he says that secrecy must end. senator josh hawley wants answers from the justice department over the d.o.j. memo that critics say authorized the feds to target parents. plus this.

8:36 am
further into more power grabbing. it is disgusting. >> harris: power panel now. rachel campos-duffy host of moms on fox nation. and former deputy press secretary. rachel, i come to you first. story is changing and those truckers aren't going anywhere. they are right where they were over a week ago as the prime minister of canada doubles down with i'm not going to use the military yet. >> yeah, these truckers are brave, inspiring the world and look, when you start banning your opposition, crushing them, banning dissent and people getting together to protest civilly, this is a problem. now we're seeing it moving to a different era where they are saying we'll seize assets, restrict your movements. this is the kind of stuff that you see in dictatorships and
8:37 am
this is what is happening. i have to tell you as a hispanic we've seen this before. we aren't surprised with justin trudeau. many hispanics were repulsed when they saw him tweet a loving tweet to fidel castro, his hero, when fidel castro died. this is something that we're not surprised about. in addition to that, harris, at the beginning of the pandemic he was caught -- he put out a video, very creepy, where he talked about using this health crisis as a way to advance the great reset and reorder economics on -- around the world. so this is somebody that we ought to be very wary of. justin trudeau's instincts are closer to china's than to our ideas of individual liberty and free markets as we know them in the western world. >> harris: jose, it has been a while since you have been on a panel. i know you traveled with us when i was doing prime time special town halls and you talked about living in another
8:38 am
country and how sometimes when you look across the aisle or wherever you are looking things start to go bad you called it out. how do you see it? >> i think as a venezuelan american i had great fun with the town hall a few years back. what i can tell you is what the prime minister of canada is doing right now is nowhere close to what they do in venezuela and what they do in cuba. >> harris: you don't think so? >> i don't think so at all. no, he is executing the rule of law. he is keeping the order. he is allowed to do it. there is a line, a clear line between being a dictator and not wanting violence to take place. let me say this quickly as republicans and democrats that we want to control inflation and economy in our own country in our best interest for our protest to end. it is impeding logistic shipments. >> harris: we don't have a right to tell them what to do with their democracy like we
8:39 am
wouldn't want them telling us what to do with ours. people like to preach but it is not an open environment. that's their country and this is ours. it is similar to that. i come back to you, rachel. >> i think it all starts like this, right? and if you look at even the way that justin trudeau handled the pandemic. we were complaining about the locals of our liberties here in the united states. 10 times worse in canada. churches were closed down, cops were coming into the churches and shutting things down. they were also seeing police officers coming in and shutting down churches. things were a lot more authoritarian. the seizure of assets and people's bank accounts, making sure these companies that the truckers are employed by can't get insurance, i'm really surprised jose that you can't see the beginnings of what i
8:40 am
see. i think offer political asylum to venezuelans, maybe we need to offer it to canadians who want freedom, too. >> let me say this. i think it's funny the republicans want the point fingers and say the prime minister of canada is the dictator. where were they when donald trump was threatening journalists and wanted to shut down the press and where were the republicans? they were quiet because it was in their own interest. funny you don't want to point fingers. let me finish. you don't want to point fingers at a president that said he wanted to get elected indefinitely. president said that on a tweet. not me, a tweet. where were you when president trump was saying it. it is not a dictatorship? absurd for you guys wanting to point fingers at a democrat when we -- that it resembles
8:41 am
venezuela. the only thing is president trump. >> donald trump complained about the press because the press was against him. biden has no need to complain about the press if you look now there is a blackout on one of the biggest bombshell stories of espionage on an opposition campaign. other networks aren't covering it. as for authoritarianism donald trump gave power back to the states during the pandemic. justin trudeau is seizing power. a very different situation. that's my answer to that. >> harris: i would add this. it's the blue states that want the power back now and they want to -- it helps them politically. science hasn't changed but political science has. i'm quoting a bunch of other people. jose, rachel, great conversation. i knew it would be. we'll bring you back. >> thanks a lot. >> harris: los angeles county becoming the latest blue

enclave the drop a mask mandate but it doesn't apply to california school children who still have a mask up in the classroom. just scratch your head harder. it doesn't make any sense. critics maintain the decisions are all political. dr. fauci says no it's not. plus this. >> president biden: woman said to me there is a dead dog on my lawn. i want it out of my front yard. i put it on her doorstep. >> harris: okay. wow. if it's even true we don't even know. president biden's latest bizarre story has people across the united states scratching their heads. jimmy failla in "focus" next.

over the needs of their children during the pandemic. claudia cowan is live reporting in san francisco. >> good morning. last-minute ballots are still being counted. early results show it wasn't close. voters resoundingly giving three democratic school board members the boot. it is the first time any school board member has been recalled in san francisco. for many parents it was a referendum how the board managed the pandemic putting racial quality and renaming dozens of schools they considered to be offensive and eliminating merit-based admissions at a prestigious high school because too many asians were getting in. the district faces a $125 million budget deficit. organizers say it was worth it. >> the dynamic and how to manage kids and go out and collect signatures goes to show
8:49 am
you how much parents' energy went into this. we could channel that anger and frustration to something that is hopefully going to lead to a positive outcome and i think that's what we feel good about. >> more than 70% of voters backed the recall including the city's mayor london breed who said, quote, the voters of this city delivered a clear message the school board must focus on the essentials of delivering a well-run school system above all else. the mayor will now appoint three new board members as voters look ahead to the next recall of san francisco's controversial district attorney in june. harris. >> harris: thank you very much. more democratic leaders are peeling back covid mandates. los angeles county is lifting its outdoor mask mandate today. good thing after the rams win which was fabulous, by the way, the game in total was great but all the mayor holding his breath the hold time because he
8:50 am
didn't have on a mask. outdoors and safe for them now. the state of california is one of four blue states which no longer have indoor mask mandates but are keeping the schools masked up. while five other democratic-led states have opted to let children come to school without wearing masks. it's the choice of the parents. despite a lot of criticism that these decisions are political dr. anthony fauci weighed in. >> do you think the local politics when it comes to these kind of mandates are overriding the science or largely no? >> well, i wouldn't say it's the politics. i think it's the different evaluation of what's right for a particular community. we use the word politics i'm not so sure it's that. i just think at the local level there is a strong feeling of needing to get back to normality. >> harris: jimmy failla is host of fox across america on fox news radio.
8:51 am
dr. fauci could have just said politics not my lane. he never says that. >> it is his lane. we should replace fauci with something americans trust more like the sushi at a gas station. nobody takes this guy seriously, harris. >> harris: it can be delicious. >> but you look at polling that's 31% of americans don't take his health initiative seriously. if you are running an nfl team and 69% of players that wouldn't run the play you won't win the game. fauci lost the locker room and has to go. mask mandates democratic leaders are jumping into political life boats. the covid regime is sinking and they want to get off. >> harris: a good thing for the communities. what i don't understand is the science points to taking the mask off the children first just because of the percentage of them who have already had it and the percentage of them who don't suffer mightily from it
8:52 am
when they get it particularly with omicron. letting them choose things like mental health and those issues first. and then feathering in the adults. >> that's what infuriating. they would accuse us of being cavalier with children's health to unmask them but masking them is. to the points you just made the cdc flat out tells us a cloth mask doesn't work against omicron. full stop. the mask comes off. masking kids is child abuse and sickening to me. >> harris: most people will never put their child in an n95. the ones that leave all the divots in your face. they are saying those are the ones that really work. have you had one show up at your house yet? they say they are sending five. >> they are coming from china. a shipping delay. it drives me crazy. without any data to support it kids are sitting in the classroom with a mask on.
8:53 am
this is true. do you remember the motley crue song smoking in the boys' room. now they go to the bathroom to take off their masks. >> harris: lincoln is this beautiful baby. >> he is a good kid. lincoln is controversial now. we have to go by his middle name now. >> harris: president biden is sharing an anecdote from his time in local government. >> president biden: got a call one night. woman said to me not of the same persuasion was i was politically saying there was a dead dog in the morning. she said i want him removed now. i pay your salary. so i went over.
