if you really get a stranglehold on power. we will stop you at the ballot box, because november is payback time. and that is the angle. joining me now is someone who fought for her citizens throughout the pandemic, iowa governor kim reynolds. governor, should joe biden of the democrats have any running room to claim victory over covid after what they've done? >> no, absolutely not and thank you so much for having me on tonight i appreciate it. they are a little bit too late. we have seen the democrats of the joe biden administration should start to change their strategy. when it comes that covid. you be rest assured that it's best off not science. we put our trust in iowa to do the right thing, we are better off because of it. we were one of the first states to get her kids back in the classroom and that was august of 2,020.

hit hard by these inflationary pressures your response? >> federal money that is coming to the state. it is driving the cost, it is ridiculous the way that there are approaching that. we cap are businesses open, we kept our economy moving. record tax cuts and investments in public education and workforce and housing and day care. we still ended with a 1.24 billion surplus and a billion dollars in cash reserves so we are going back and cutting taxes again. where telling iowans and helping them get the skills that they need to fill the job and we are moving forward. despite what were getting from the federal government and inflation at a 40 year high. >> laura: i want people to understand, governor you're like

[laughs] i want people to know that your policies work because you're pretty popular in the state. i think your approval ratings about 51%. but the des moines registry i think they don't like any of these developments because they which are political opponent, this woman, who was gonna run against you said that she stares according to the register that her campaign had just $8,500 in the bank at the end of the year a number so small that many wondered how the campaign could even continue to operate, as democrats the wide range of locations for the governors race for down ballot candidates for iowa voters in 2,022 and beyond. >> laura: i know that w of millions of dollars in the bank

going into this election cycle, she has 8,500, she started blowing through a couple hundred thousand dollars. as as a blueprint for other governors races across the country? >> i think you're going to see that in state after state. we have great opportunities to flip, there's a lot of states who are by democratic governors in the narrative, my narrative is the same that you see in republican states across this country and states across the country that are led by republican governors. with the right message, we put the right policies in place, we believe in our people, we've kept our state open. we are seeing a because of that. laura, i'm all over the state. i talked to iowans all the time. i know you're familiar with that and i can't even tell you the number of moms, students, families that came up and said thank you for believing in us. thank you for protecting our freedoms. >> laura: it's he was happening in new york, and chicago, and other states, they don't want that. governor, thank you so much see you tonight.

misleading studies of the whole pandemic have come from our own cdc. the two studies on natural immunity which one against a hundred and 50 other studies showing that it's effective, the kansas max study, all of these studies were not of past any muster and a respected medical journal. but the cdc had its own journal called mmwr. which is not subject review. they hoard the data, they don't show the raw data to researchers in the country and of their own time they to publish in their own journal with their own conclusions with often are not derived in the data they presented themselves. yet this unprecedented trend of using scientific research for political propaganda, if i was advising the administration right now i would say make all the data available to the public to researchers around the country can do their own independent analysis. people just want honesty, they just want the data straight, they want honesty with their covert data. >> laura: how can we know about the vitamin d in the sink

what the real goals are in some cases. i think more parenting arrives up. and perhaps it is for parents to push their personal worldview on some of these renegade edge accredits and all their minions. joining me now. she has a parent who has two kids at langley high school. you blew the whistle on all of this. one needs to happen now? >> it is nice laura there was an apology, but this does go much deeper than that. i feel like parents have lost a lot of trust. there is a sunset is not about one school, or one decision, one book in the library. there really is a sense that public schools have not really been paying attention the parents and not wanting to hear from parents or excludes us and decision-making and it's time for that to change. i think that's the it's a lot of parents up and wanted to send. >> laura: here's what the school has posted on its core values and beliefs page.

we believe positive relationships can only be achieved through mutual respect between teachers, parents administrators and the larger community. i think they mean among not between. but that's a bit ironic considering the library sign is a not in the fairfax county, the way that they've treated the parents around this? >> absolutely, and i think right now one of the things i feel like a lot of people might not know just how little access parents have to our school. i have two children in langley high school and i've never been in the building. parents aren't allowed inside because of covert restrictions, even my kids, i have two other kids in elementary school. i have a bit in that school since covid hit. that is because again they are preventing parents from coming in for what used to come to be a normal interaction you have with your teacher. see even more than ever now are supposed to put our faith in teachers and administrators, and gosh, you look at stuff like

this and you're wondering, there's no transparency you know if you like this much respect and not much judgment. >> laura: doesn't make you wonder what else they are hiding? we knew what that county was hiding they were hiding sexual assault. if they do want that happening and want to vilify the parents, and i talked to a lot of langley high school parents. we're just using this as an example because this is happening all over the country. there are afraid to speak out because as i quote, we are worried about what is going to happen to our son, he is applying to college. he's knocking to get a recommendation from a teacher, english or history teacher. parents are scared, i think that's starting to disappear anticipate somewhat. you are incredibly forthright and courageous. is this type beginning to turn? >> i do think it's starting to turn. it's interesting, i think what you start speaking out, you

start hearing. you of course you're some bad things anyway about cancel culture and the consequences. but he also start hearing from a lot of parents who are cheering you on, people in the neighborhood. i got that picture from a parent who didn't want to go on the record, didn't want to be in the public eye, but i was sent that. i was encouraged to share that. there's all these parents were out there and they are starting to police the schools for it. and that's incredibly helpful and important. i do think it's either, so many schools that are starting to have successes like that. at least you got an apology. with a small victory that sign being taken down this time. i think masks are coming out partly because there's a lot of push parent pushback. >> laura: we have to roll but there has to be full transparency, no hiding stuff in the parents were they afraid of? carrie thank you, coming up next. ♪ ♪
