for the american people, and it's important to understand that the president really doesn't understand this issue because there is a bill right now that he is trying to get through congress to bring even more money into the market. as you know, that's way too much money in the market right now, which is why we are starting to see inflation so high. and when you are seeing it everywhere from the gas prices, if you want to get milk and meat everyone. >> steve: steven rattner said there is too much money in the economy. he said it's a classic case of too much money chasing too few goovmentdz his larger point is and that's how he started it, mr. president, you can't keep blaming the supply chain, it's not the supply chain. >> lawrence: whole different issue. >> steve: in fact, just to show you, ladies and gentlemen, exhibit a. here is the president doing exactly what steven rattner, who was an official during the obama years and worked with joe biden says is not honest. >> look, as you know, um, the

inflation has everything to do with the supply chain. >> let's along at the reason for the inflation, the reason for the inflation is the supply chains were cut off. >> steve: and if you read the op-ed in the "new york times," it makes it very clear he does not -- the way he is presenting it makes it look like he doesn't understand it the supply chains were not cut off. essentially the demand came back to quickly and we were unable to, you know. >> ainsley: fill all the orders. >> steve: the administration did not plan for a quick come back and that's what we got. people wanted to buy stuff and it wasn't there because of supply and demand. >> ainsley: it's an excellent read. this is a portion of what he wrote in the "new york times." he said blaming inflation on supply lines is like complaining about your sweater keeping you too warm after you added several logs to the fireplace. the bulk of our supply problems are the product of the overstimulated economy not the

cause of it. all that consumption has resulted from vast amounts of government rescue aid flee rounds of stimulus checks and substantial under spending by consumers during the lockdown. he goes on to say this is a ripple effect. he says used car prices are up 55% over january 2020 levels. food costs are up. furniture and begged up 19%. laundry equipment up 33%. shipping delays, commerce department saying imports into the u.s. are up almost 21% over last year. delays with unloading the ships. people leaving their jobs. employers can't find workers. homeless problems, crime suspect. build back better he says will add $750 billion to the deficit over the first five years. can we afford all of this? there is too much money out there. he is adding too much. this build back better, it is going -- you think inflation is back now? good thing it didn't pass. too much money. >> lawrence: you got the crisis hitting the cars. and then people got to payee nor

must amount for gas. look at what abbey hornacek has to say. i just got back from los angeles. meanwhile in los angeles one gallon of regular gas costs more than $5. $6.44 for one gallon of regular. >> ainsley: premium is 6.79. >> lawrence: this is asinine. this is the type of stuff that will change the mood of the country. you know, they are so concerned about stuff social justice and all of this identity politics. that's not impacting americans on a day-to-day basis. people of all races, when it goes to the gas pump and they see this type of stuff happening, and this -- by the way, hurts every industry, all right. those 18 wheelers. my dad is a truck driver. when they have to fill this up with this enormous amount of deville fuel the price for it that's going to raise the price of everything. it is crazy. >> steve: just wait until the ukraine war starts and the

president made it clear yesterday it's going to be starting soon. and that price for self-serve regular add another buck to that. they are suggesting it could be $7. there is one other interesting thing in the steve rattner thing in the "new york times." one other thing that joe biden was talking about during the sit-down with lester holt was he said the reason cars are so much now is because there is a chip shortage but we got intel, the big chip manufacturer to spend something like $20 billion on a new plant in ohio, so that's going to help. what he didn't say is the new chip plant will not produce one single chip until 2025. that's three years. so sit back, relax, joe biden has got it covered when is he up for re-election in 2024. >> lawrence: they don't have are a clue. >> lawrence: then they will have chips. >> lawrence: this was a self-inflicted wound from the

the 16-year-old girl and 65-year-old woman were both shot in the chest. a 22-year-old was also shot. no arrests have been made so far. now to a fox weather alert. more than 180 million americans are bracing for severe weather involving snow, flooding, damaging winds. the heavy winter storm dumping snow in el paso, illinois. the powerful system causing 100 car pile up around 25 miles of interstate 39 closed due to the accident and in alabama, several tornadoes touching down wreaking havoc and causing major power outages there as well. the military finally giving a very small number of vaccine exemptions while the future of thousands of servicemen and women remain unclear. the navy finally granting one exemption this week following six exemptions from the marines and nine from the air force. nearly 17,000 remain unanswered. the military already discharging hundreds for refusing to get the

vehicles, freeze their bank accounts and they arrested a couple of people, including tamara leadership, she started the go fund me. she said a day ago in a tearful clip i'm an business waiting i'm getting arrested and she was right and so did another organizer by the name of chris barber. they both are expected to be charged criminally. >> ainsley: oh my gosh, can you imagine the feeling of that when you are just protesting peacefully because you don't like the vaccine mandates that the government is imposing on you? they froze her bank account. they are threatening to take all these trucks, seizing all the trucks, defending insurance, freezing bank accounts. police are working with child welfare agencies to remove the children that are out there protesting so that if they arrest the parents, the children have a place to go. i mean, it is unbelievable what's happening there. 400 trucks that are around the perimeter of the parliament

come back to american politics. the way we started the program today and talking about joe biden he went up to take the victory lap because he has got no wind and he is under water in the polls and there are a number of people in his own party saying, you know, you got to start over because you will not win again. so democrats are thinking about well, the midterms are in peril. what about the presidential? we need somebody else to come to the rescue of the democratic party. and is that what hillary clinton was doing yesterday? listen to this speech. keep in mind, she was there -- she was there here is the sheraton in midtown, manhattan, she was there to endorse the new governor kathy hochul. according to the "new york post." she mentioned donald trump, january 6th and fox news more than the governor who she was there to endorse. here she is. does this sound like she is running? >> we can't get distracted, whether it's by the latest

caller. and as i was talking to this young man. it was a young teenage kid that was just minding his own business, got off of the bus and confronted by these two guys. they demanded his backpack and his belongings that he had. aunt he had a handgun. but that happened earlier in the morning about 6:00 in the morning. he didn't make the call until an hour, hour and a half, or two hours later. but while we were talking, individuals were walking right up the street towards our direction. and he pointed out to them and told them, those are the guys right there and that is my backpack he is wearing. so i let dispatch know about the individual that i was on the subject. and these subjects they saw me

too as well. so they turned off down the street and went down an alleyway and lost visual. so i had a partner calm by to help and assist. nc if can make some contact with these individuals. and as we went down to the alleyway, the alleyway was complete cover of bushes and bushes. you couldn't even see through the alleyway. it was overgrown with a lot of leads here and so we made our approach, all of a sudden, shot started ringing out. and in the officer who was assisting me was shot. he backed our way. as i was holding on and getting prepared to back the way, i was shot. at that time, it was just a scramble. we called out on it and next thing i knew, i was laying on
