from the truth this was same monday morning outside the venice public library. a place where children are encouraged to attack out books community gatherings are supposed to be common place. but instead the present day venice can not be deny that public safety and public health crisis is raging. >> when i drove deeper i realize that it was the drug -- it was the addiction that cause individuals to come and out of society age became homeless. >> what was drug of choice? >> fentanyl. these two drugs -- killing, killing society man. and then they end up in tents out here and at nighttime when tents out here was almost like a zombie community everybody is in a whole other dimension of time. >> venice beach iconic tourist destination is now described by local residents as a zombie community. not only residents are concerned, but christopher who owns a local apartment complex

has had a front row seat to the chaos that has been unfolding. >> christopher, you own all of this. yet, it was inundated with tents and crime, and, i mean, what did you think about this? >> we're shocked by the state of venice as a result of the pandemic and the fallen tourism. glans i get videos from home, cams of people have from things being set on fire. and all of that, is that still happening? >> yes, it's happening. you know couple weeks ago that happened because some people on the boardwalk were cold. there are just pockets of issue an problems. >> because of dangerous secheses like this entire landscape of venice has changed. >> what is happening at the venice library where you have folks that are staging their tents there -- families are feeling like they can't have their kids there.

tragically 162% in cases of assault with a deadly weapon involving a homeless person. >> person does he return your calls? >> no. he doesn't show up and hasn't been to another meeting and hasn't met with neighbors -- >> bonin as we told you climbs there's no proof that these homeless encamp republicans a danger to the community won't even answer the calls from his constituents. >> do you feel safe? >> no. no -- we've had them already go into properties if you go into the next store ask. look at all of the people complaining, somebody robbed me today. friend of mine went into their car they already got into our cars. >> your counsel person has he sat down and met with you? >> he don't want to they want to call and they know where our calls are coming from because they know who we are and they answer whatsoever. my understanding is one person got shot here the day before

francisco, they got plenty of money to spent on all kind of things including -- providing drug paraphernalia to addicts. look there's nothing compassionate about ignoring this problem. and i'm old enough to remember that gavin newsom ran for mayor of san francisco when i lived there on a -- platform of providing care not cash to the homeless he wanted to help get them of a the street. i think he sincerely believe that and fast forward to today with american civil liberties union and orr liberal organizations, saying that it is somehow unconstitutional to move people off the streets. that's a situation that you have. and so instead of addressing this problem head-on or appealing those decisions california is just chosen to impose this problem and shift burden of this on to neighborhoods and so you have in san francisco, and los angeles you have official homeless encampments necks to schools. you have children at risk of stumbling across drug paraphernalia, everybody is at risk of illness you think about

covid how passionate is it to in gender people living in these unsanitary situations so you're correct what you said lawrence crime comes against homelessness i think they should be treated compassionately these with people with unfortunate situations. some of them are opportune fist and it is not weather in california and there are tons of benefits. but this is a problem that needs to be addressed head-on just like rudy giuliani cleaned up new york in 1990s we need that for quality of life for compassion towards these people. and for protection of the citizens from the crime that accompany this anarchy. >> someone that has talked with homeless population because i want to know their story they have drug addiction some have mental health but a lot of services offered to them all housing, health services three meals days and a lot of them decided they don't want to take any of those services because so easy to just get the needles

these afghan refugees. senator tom responded it by saying that joe biden responded to promise those who vet to america but he didn't and now american lives are at risk. joining me now to break it down is fox news contradict tore sarah carter thanks so much for joining me my friend you are always on top of this. when you read the report and it says, quote, did not use all available data when vetting afghan refugees. so my question is -- who vetted them then? >> well, the taliban did let's remember what happened. president biden failed to adhere to the intelligence communities reports there were tons of reports back in august of 2021 they were telling him look taliban is surrounding kabul. there's a lot of concern right now as far as the withdrawal. we knew that the department of defense had various different reports in place. that enmoos measures in place incase of the withdrawal.

police officers shot last year that was a record since we started tracking this year and this year 60 police officers shot which is 60.increase over last year. and you know i'm going to put my uniform on immediately after this and go out on patrol. but you know before i do i'm going to tell my officers make sure you're careful throughout because criminals are thinking less and less of shooting us. and they're thinking less and less of killing us because they know they're nots held accountable for their action yet we hear from academic and journalist saying your jour job is not that dangerous once you sit your ass next to me that that patrol karl and you see if my job is dangerous. as far as bragg is there someone more out of touch with new york citiers than d.a. bragg and his staff in recent win pack poll said 74% new yorkers saw crime as a problem and in d.a. trust thinks we should go softer on crime to talk about criminal you mention that guy has been arrested 46 times. 46!

and he was out on parole when he did this grand larceny and d.a. think it is a great idea to reduce charge. you do not cut a deal with a repeat felon like this. sh and what it really tells the community and what it el it is victims is they'll give a damn about you it tells cops we don't care about risk you're taking to all of your viewers if you have people politicians in your community that are not embracing laws and order you need to get loud and talk about it. you need to hod them accountable and vote them out because consequences are deadly. lawrence: i thought whole point of criminal justice reform was when civil liberty were violated or when criminals reform theirive loos -- but that's not what's happening in progressive city these people continue they have wrap sheets longer than cvs receipts. so it is very sad what's happening to country but i want to get your reaction to this. this is wife of albuquerque cop -- that had some fired up rhetoric

for those leaders that aren't doing anything about this. watch. . steadily gotten worse over last to years and it's because of the politics. it is the choices -- that they've made to throw our officers away. lawrence: what's your reaction sergeant? >> i'll tell you it is heartbreaking to hear her talk about but that's what we need. we need every american in this country to stand up and fight against these woke policies because we know they're on mitigated disease. just in albuquerque alone they were one of 16 american cities who experience their highest murder rate on record. on record! and you're thinking to dongt to move forward with policy and it is killing our communities not saying we're fight for for soul of our country right now you know what worst part of it is we're not doing criminals a favor just maybe if we were hard on them like you were talking about earlier on the homeless
