country aren't going to put up with anymore and we're gong to see that in 2022 november, midterms where crime and inflation are going to be two big issues that decide the balance of power in washington and it will go towards republicans at this point because they're ones who are more trusted to address this problem than democrats basically been waiving off, lawrence. lawrence: you see this being reflected in polls as well. harmeet i want to get your thoughts on them defunding homeless cop that was responsible for clearing out these encamp ms. i mean, ones that have been cleared out -- have been from the l.a. county sheriff. who we've interviewed here on cross country -- but the city, i mean, the county doesn't have enough money to do this -- bier themselves city should be doing this as well, right? >> first of all, cities and counties and in california have a lot of money. we're extremely highly taxed and speaking from my city in san

francisco, they got plenty of money to spent on all kind of things including -- providing drug paraphernalia to addicts. look there's nothing compassionate about ignoring this problem. and i'm old enough to remember that gavin newsom ran for mayor of san francisco when i lived there on a -- platform of providing care not cash to the homeless he wanted to help get them of a the street. i think he sincerely believe that and fast forward to today with american civil liberties union and orr liberal organizations, saying that it is somehow unconstitutional to move people off the streets. that's a situation that you have. and so instead of addressing this problem head-on or appealing those decisions california is just chosen to impose this problem and shift burden of this on to neighborhoods and so you have in san francisco, and los angeles you have official homeless encampments necks to schools. you have children at risk of stumbling across drug paraphernalia, everybody is at risk of illness you think about

covid how passionate is it to in gender people living in these unsanitary situations so you're correct what you said lawrence crime comes against homelessness i think they should be treated compassionately these with people with unfortunate situations. some of them are opportune fist and it is not weather in california and there are tons of benefits. but this is a problem that needs to be addressed head-on just like rudy giuliani cleaned up new york in 1990s we need that for quality of life for compassion towards these people. and for protection of the citizens from the crime that accompany this anarchy. >> someone that has talked with homeless population because i want to know their story they have drug addiction some have mental health but a lot of services offered to them all housing, health services three meals days and a lot of them decided they don't want to take any of those services because so easy to just get the needles

lawrence: welcome back to cross country a developing story tonight with a concern of all a pentagon ig report found that 50 afghan refugees brought to the united states have potentially significant security concerns. these include individuals who fingerprinters have been found on bombs, that are known or suspected terrorists. we don't know where dozens of them currently are letha sink in. so how did this happen? u.s. agencies did not use all of the available data when vetting

these afghan refugees. senator tom responded it by saying that joe biden responded to promise those who vet to america but he didn't and now american lives are at risk. joining me now to break it down is fox news contradict tore sarah carter thanks so much for joining me my friend you are always on top of this. when you read the report and it says, quote, did not use all available data when vetting afghan refugees. so my question is -- who vetted them then? >> well, the taliban did let's remember what happened. president biden failed to adhere to the intelligence communities reports there were tons of reports back in august of 2021 they were telling him look taliban is surrounding kabul. there's a lot of concern right now as far as the withdrawal. we knew that the department of defense had various different reports in place. that enmoos measures in place incase of the withdrawal.

board not giving importance to the real concerns of parents. and especially the children who have been locked out of school the longest compared to other big cities. we saw it was troubling. and the school board members didn't give that importance. and a bunch of other things. it's the frustration that was building up that led the recall effort. >> were you shocked by this? >> there is the moment before the results and you have 100 of your volunteers. what fit all falls apart at the end. to see the jumps come through so overwhelmingly it was like a big hug from the city much san francisco. lawrence: the mayor who is very progressive had a lot to say about this.

can we pull that twiept from mayor london breed. the voters of the city have delivered a clear message that the school board must deliver a well-run school system above all else. san francisco is a city that believe in big ideas but they must be built on a government that does essentials well. is that what's it about. it's not that the parents are about innovation. but you have got to do the basics first. >> absolutely. things that we take for granted before we couldn't take for granted any longer. as you saw on the streets of san francisco as we were collecting signatures. people had the desire to get kids back into schools and make sure the kids that are
