you first and talk about the tensions that we're seeing, the escalations. we've been covering them the last few days. you have the defense secretary, lloyd austin, talking about this, essentially saying that this invasion is imminent. listen. >> -- he could attack in short order or -- >> it's not a bluff. >> i don't believe it's a bluff. i think, i think he's assembled the right kind, the kind of things that a you would need to conduct a successful invasion. >> so he's saying it's not a bluff, it could happen at any moment, and we're essentially waiting for what that moment will be. it's no coincidence that the closing ceremonies in the olympics in china are today. everybody was watching and waiting for it. your thoughts. >> jackie, we knew he had the capability of launching an attack weeks ago. and let's put this in context. back in 2014 putin already invaded ukraine. if he moved into two regions, he took them over, he claimed those

ukrainians as his own citizens, and he put his leaders in place. the world did nothing. then donald trump came along, he slapped sanctions on that nord2 pipeline which was going to bring gas from russia into europe. he said if any country joins this pipeline or uses it, we are going to slap sanctions on you. 18 countries backed off. what happened after that? joe biden lifted those sanctions, jackie, and the next thing that happened is now you've fractured the nato alliance. this week you have lit -- italy saying, the m -- p.m. telling reuters we don't support energy sanctions, that should be off the table. now in the mid ifst of this crisis you have the alliance fracturedded by joe biden. and if you don't think putin sees the weakness and seeing kamala harris go with over to this munich conference and represent the united states, she

inspires as much fear and trembling in putin as jill biden's appearance would have done. [laughter] i mean, this is an embarrassment, and they'd better figure this out. sanctions are not going to work at this stage. it's too late in the game. >> but they are sticking with the with line of sanctions, and they're not imposing them now, and there's a very good reason for that, tyrus. because, essentially, if they go after russia's energy industry, that's the life blood of their economy, it's also going to have an impact on europe and us because we're taking in more russian oil. so kamala harris talked about this, and i want you to listen to what she said. >> when america stands for our principles and all of the things that we hold dear, it requires sometimes for us to put ourselves out there in a way that maybe we will incur some cost. and then in this situation, that may relate to energies, for example. finish -- >> our energy costs are already skyrocketing, and people are getting literally suffocated every time they go to the pump,

tyrus. how much more can we take? >> it's always reassuring to hear your, one of your leaders of your country use um in a statement when they're discussing what's going on in the world. [laughter] i mean, i, for one, was excited after the czar of the border was over there to handle business. we all might be speaking russian pretty soon. i mean, it's just -- you can't have it both ways. the president comes on and says an attack is immeant a means it's about to happen unless the word has changed meaning. why aren't you hitting them with sanctions? high aren't you doing anything? you're saying oh, this is about to happen. there are separatists that are already dropping bombs. that seems to me like the game's on, and yet we're the still saying if it comes down to the last second, we're going to do something. no. this is the afghan thing come to roost. no one fears us right now. >> yeah. >> this administration's weak, it's split, and everyone knows it. so, yeah, it doesn't matter who

you acceptable over there right now, they feel no fear and, worst of all, no respect. >> and it reminded me very much of the afghanistan situation because president biden would go to his beach house in delaware on the weekend, and he was thinking about doing that now but, you know, changed his mind. obviously, the optics of that do not look good in a crisis situation. but i want to switch gears for a moment because another strategy for russia might be to attack us with cyber attacks, right? those russian hackers hit the krone y'all pipeline in may of 2021, dr. sapphire, and that was a hugish issue with respect respect to how we were transporting energy in this country. biden saying i'm not going to send troops over there, but they could come hit us on our soil by targeting our energy grid, our infrastructure, our hospitals? >> you're absolutely right, jackie. and the biden administration says they're not going to do anything right now because they still have hope for, you know, diplomacy progress. but the point is to deal with thety tyrannical dictator like putin, essentially it's like

arguing with a 2-year-old. you really can't reason with unreasonable, so you need to be having the ramifications, the consequences before the tantrum because it's just mentally exhausting without any sort of progress. and, listen, i understand this is not necessarily the united states' fight, but it is the role of the united states to stand up to further russian imperialism, especially one that will have long-term economic consequences on states. not to mention the fact that we are completely vulnerable, as you're mentioning, to cyber attacks and other forms. yes, it may not be military tear, but we are by no means without being potential victims of this war. so it is time for the united states to act like the adult in the room. how many lives need to be lost before president biden actually stands up and makes a move? >> it's a really good question and, of course, the republicans are speaking out about this. senator ted cruz also talking about how this situation has transpired, how it's developed. i want you to listen to what he had to say. >> joe biden formally waived

sanctions on russia, on putin and gave the green light to build nord stream 2. that is why we have over 100,000 troops and russian tanks on the border of ukraine preparing to invade. that's why we're on the brink of war in europe. >> i mean, when you think about it, he's not wrong. this was a situation that was mismatched, ray monday if, from the get go. >> jackie, look, i want to pick up on something nicole said. when a child is approaching the stove and about to burn their hand, you grab them and you put them in timeout. you don't wait for the arm to turn back and the house to go up in smoke. this is ridiculous. when you drop sanctions after a provocative the act, that's called a weak retaliation, not a deterrence. and i think that's the way vladimir putin's going to interpret thisment and while blinken is preparing for his meeting with russian foreign minister lavrov, putin has

say. take a listen. >> go outside and meet those protesters for yourself. that is what a true leader would do. you as a group have gone from ignoring these protesters to dismissing them as a fringe minority, to smearing them as racists and misogynistic to now attacking them as terrorists. you don't get to pick and choose who you care about. it is your civic duty to care about all canadians, even those who you disagree with. you are treating my brothers and sisters, your constituents, like terrorists. without ever speaking to their leadership. >> you know, tyrus, it's less often than not that you actually see hollywood or canadian hollywood come out to call attention to such things. what is your take of this? >> well, first of all, i applaud her and, unfortunately, probably her acting career's probably over. the woke will go after her the same way hay go after the truckers.

and here's the thing, when you demoralize a group and they're saying it's over, it never started. they never once sat down with them. they never once had a meeting with them. they met them with violence, they're going to take away their livelihood, they're going to take away their money, they're going to split up families, and that's how -- and when it rolls down to america, they've already started it. it's going to be january 6th part two. these are going to be sincists, racists, worst of all, they're probably trumpers trying to steal the election back. the mainstream media will demoralize them so the average person flipping on the channel is going to be like, wow, these guys are horrible. they take their dignity away and on top of that they just destroy them, not just physically, mentally and financially, and they're okay with it. they'll tell themselves when it's all over how proud they are of themselves. and in the worst cases, if a few truckers decide to make a stand and fight back, when that

bloodshed happens, there'll be the ones being called the horrible people not the law enforcement, unfortunately, or the people who came and put hands on them and niche initiated the physicality. it's amazing how when you're on the left side of it how it's vastly different in how they describe it. and i made the comment yesterday to raymond about the situation with the horses. there's been no pictures of the horses running over people on cnn and demanding an explanation for why these horses are behaving this way. but when it happened at the border, they were whipping and all these things, there was a report, and these border patrol agents should have been fired in disgrace. they never even got an apology. so we're going to see more of the same, and it's truly tragic. my heart goes out to the families of the truckers because it's going to take years to get over the damage from them just wanting the right to make their own choices. >> well, raymond, tyrus makes a very good point. the the media's portrayal of this has been very dangerous. even you have the member of european parliament from romania saying trudeau's acting like a

dictator. take a listen. >> the prime minister of canada, the way he's behaving right now, he's exactly like a tyrant, like a dictator. if you have doubts about the vaccine, you're outcasted. what's the difference between what he does and what happened on the day of the imposition? >> raymond if, what do you make of that? >> well, look, when you have to look to romania for freedom, you've got to ask yourself what is happening in canada. and i was troubled by what that official said in your opening statement there, nicole, when you introduced the statement. he said these investigations are going to go on for months. as tyrus said, this looks like january 6th part or two. part two, in canada. let's hope they don't try to restart that sequel here in the united states. the difference is we have a first amendment. these people have a right to protest. they have a right to gather and have their voices heard. now, already the capitol, nancy pelosi are girding and trying to

set the narrative. they've already said we're going to put the fences back up around the perimeter of the capitol because march 1st, mardi gras day, is joe biden's state of the union address, and they don't want those truckers in any way impeding on the capitol or getting too close. that's fine. you're bringing the cops in? that's fine. but let's not depict part of this people's convoy as racists or terrorists. and is we all have to be very careful and watchful of the media narratives because media narratives lead to federal prosecutions. and that is a dangerous precedent in the united states. we have constitutional rights, and they have to be protected. >> well, no doubt. jackie, you've lived firsthand in new york city, also in the middle east, and you have been witness to such protests regarding freedoms. did you ever expect to see this in the united states, in canada? >> i never expected to see it, nicole. and i did cover the arab spring over a decade ago while i was

living in the middle east, and this is the kind of response that you saw when people were protesting to take down dictators just as the gentleman said in the previous sound bite. so that was very powerful, to me. i never thought that i would see that, you know, on this side of the world where we supposedly live in a democracy where people have rights to peacefully protest. you know, your rights don't get taken away overnight. this is a slow erosion, and the precedent that this sets, what's happening in canada right now, is very, very dangerous. essentially first they silence you and they use force to do it, then they instill fear in you and say we're going to take your livelihood away, we're going to prosecute you, throw you in jail, and slowly but surely there's this erosion until all of this fear permeates everybody's consciousness and they're too scared to speak up. and that's when the government essentially is allowed to take control. and i sit back and i look here, you know, the dem99 concern -- democrats are always saying it's the republicans that are a

mourning after one of their own was killed in a helicopter crash near newport beach. fellow officers gathered outside the hospital shortly after the incident to pay tribute. god rest his soul. tyler, when the defund the police movement was at its zenith, we saw an explosion in police violence, and i wonder, do you think these perps feel emboldened and free to attack officers? i mean, this guy in washington state, he shot at cops, he fellowed, then when they found him, he tried to stab the officer. what's driving all of this, do you think? >> well, defund the police, the constant rhetoric that a there should be no police, the victimization is of criminals. he was d in his defense, he was squared, he was scared for his life. they'll leave out the fact that he was under investigation for second-degree rape of a child, but that's not what it's going to be.

there'll be groups that will make this person the victim because police officers, men and women who serve are terrible and they have no business in our country or in our cities. and you'll even hear people like when -- the morning in new york where someone was complaining because there was traffic and that's what their job is, and if they die, so be it. that's the narrative that's being pushed other than places like fox news coming forward and you're seeing american citizens starting to support the men and women who wear the shield. but as long as you continue to hear the squads of the world and continue to say things about we don't need police and police need to go away, you're always going to embolden the worst part of our society, and we're seeing that right now. it's tragickic. and i don't know how -- tragic. i don't know how these police officers are still running into these situations because of their honor and their integrity, and they're not getting the respect from the mainstream media that they so vastly deserve. >> tyrus, you mentioned it earlier in the last segment. when you dehumanize people, you

make them a target, and you make it easy for everyone to turn on them. and their rights are ignored. but when you're talking in our own city in new orleans, 800 cops missing, gone, they left the force. when you have that kind of a drawdown on your police readiness, that's a threat and a danger to every citizen in cities across america. nicole, give me your thoughts on what this escalation and violence against officers has on retention. how does it affect retention, morale? i mean, this copp in north carolina, he was shot during a routine traffic stop. >> you know, raymond, it's really interesting. this has all happened through the defund the police movements and god bless the liberal limousine democrats who i think the squad congressional democrats spent over $325,000 just last year alone on their private security. that's just the squad. i'm i'm sorry, but for the rest of us common folk civilians, we are able to sleep at night because we know the heroes in

blue are out there doing what they can to support us, you know? and protect us. so my brother-in-law, he's a police officer. he leaves his four children, his beautiful wife every single day to go out there to do whatever he can to protect those around him. what does he get in return? he gets these politicians to do, to try and defund their movement, to rally the public against them, and he's continuing to put himself in arm highways -- in harm's way. for what? as tyrus just said, they have the integrity. they took this job for a reason, and all they want to do is to protect and to serve, and we need to be there to support them because i can tell you, i sleep at night because you have these heroes doing just that. >> jackie, how big a role do district attorneys play in this rise in violence against our officers? i mean, that rape suspect, he's dead. but the guy in north carolina who shot this officer during the traffic stop, he should get life in prison as a message.

attack an officer, bye-bye for life. your thoughts. >> i mean, i think you're right. and if that was the consequence for the actions of this person, then it ought to deer the other people from doing it. >> right. >> to the first point about the district attorneys, they're probably procedurally one of the most important steps in this process, right? here in new york city, alvin bragg is the one deciding which crimes to prosecute and which criminals essentially to lock up. he has taken the bar, and he has lowered it. and people are very well aware of that. they realize that there's no consequences to their actions, and that's why we had two officers shot and killed here last month. this is what happens when you set this kind of precedent and let people know that they can essentially walk around the city doing whatever they want, and there's not going to be anything, any kind of pressure, any kind of consequence, anyone to answer to. >> no. it incentivizes more violence, and we should never tolerate that against our officers. democrats better start praying about the midterms, that's frees

step away. if you give the republicans the ability to point to democrats as the super-woke culture focused on the wrong things that don't matter to voters, you're going to lose. it's that simple. >> meanwhile, geography becoming more reflective of america's political divide as americans increasingly drawn to regions with like-minded political views. and we've seen that during this pandemic. i want to play one more sound bite and start with you, tyrus, to get your reaction to this. we were just talking about, you know, defunding the police with respect to crime, but it is going to be an, shy -- an issue when it comes to the midterm elections. listen to ilhan omar here. >> how do you feel when you see self-proclaimed progressives loudly distancing themselves from the defund movement? >> when you see so many people with addiction problems and you see the level of homelessness we have in our communities and you still say more resources

shouldn't be allocated to that, if you care about those who are vulnerable, then you have to do everything that you can to keep them safe. >> so on one hand you've got the analysts saying, whole, you better watch out what you're in for, and then you've got her doubling down, tyrus. >> well, it's not just a double down, they've heard it a little bit because they shifted. before she would just outright attack the police, now she's saying that defund the police should go to the homeless where before it was they should make something new and abolish everybody. so i guess that's a small victory. but here's the thing, when your entire platform is basically ran like someone's social media, when all your information comes from twitter and you look how the woke and the super-progressives work, you have to have a lot of followers. you have to like them. if you don't, they block you or cancel you, so that's pretty much life on twitter. the problem is the problems that are on twitter aren't problems with great americanss. we say 10% of 10% is the amount

of people who are actually on the woke twitter. so their first problem is with i want to be identified as a different type of human being because i wear a hat 12 hours out of a 24-hour day so, therefore, i will not be treated the same as, say, raymond who doesn't wear a hat. those are not real problems. and as long as you continue to run on first world problems and supporting celebrities because they have 10 million followers -- no one ever told them about bots and what have you -- that is why they're in big trouble. and they're not going to change because they don't, they live in a different world than we do. they live in a twitter verse, and they're going to get it, and i can't wait. i'm so excited. [laughter] >> but there also is a little bit of this polarization going on too, nicole, and i want to ask you about. there was an nbr article on friday that said, quote: america is growing more geographically polarized. red zip codes are getting redder and blue becoming bluer.

people appear to be sorting. your thoughts. >> well, jackie, you know, historically prior to covid-19 you used to see that, yes, the party not in power historically has done well in the midterm elections. but what are we seeing now in covid-19? it depends on what state you in. are your children wearing mask? are you allowed to go to certain events without a negative covid test? it's a way of life, it's not just about your political ideals. all of a sudden you've turned into how people are actually living their life, and they're deciding, absolutely not, i'm going to move. it's not necessarily which ideal, yes, they're saying it's red and blue, but unfortunately red and blue as we're seeing even "the new york times" is coming out showing that the cdc has not had transparency, they have not release released all the data, and it seems those red states were the ones who actually followed the science and den what is -- done what is best for their people living in

my husband and i are both lifelong democrats. we do not approach this from political ideology, point of view, but i can't embrace bullying or discriminating, and no parent should. so we are in a very difficult position here, we feel all alone. i mean, what do you say to that? >> wow. what i say to that is it's really sad actually. every parent is going to make a decision for their child based on their particular circumstances and their situation. so to nicole's point about shame mentality, they're trying to shame the parents and they're trying to shame the little kids which is so sad, right? in our households, at least in my household when i was growing up, i was taught not to follow the herd, to make my own decisions. my parents instilled that in me. and what we're trying to do here by telling the kids you're not going to have friends if you're not vaccinated, it's telling them exactly that, do what everybody else is doing so
