the precision of her reporting. she cares about facts. of course she was silenced but knowledge on our show. we will be back tomorrow night at 8 the show that is the sworn enemy of of lying, pomposity, smugness and group think. we passover to the great sean hannity. >> sean: we begin with another fox news alert. secretary of state blinken believes russia's full invasion of ukraine will happen before this night is over. >> before the night is over there will be a full invasion ever ukraine uncle i do. -- i do. russia is to the north, east and south and everything is in place for russia to engage in a major
6:01 pm
aggression against ukraine. >> sean: ukraine is in a state of emergency. over 100,000 russian troops are ready to attack. russia surrounded by ukraine. look at the map in front of you. the ukrainian government and banks were hit with a massive cyber attack. mobile communications are jammed all over eastern ukraine, and they believe a full-scale invasion is imminent. we will take you live to the ground in ukraine. we will also be joined by former vice-president mike pence. europe is sadly on the brink of war. it's no secret how we got here. for years, obama, biden and european leaders under-estimated vladimir putin and his ambitions and they sought to appease his hostile behavior and ignored his

threats and got addicted to his cheap oil and helped make russia and putin rich again. western leaders were pleading with putin to engage in diplomacy. he ignored them. they ignored the reality of 200,000 troops surrounding ukraine. listen to what happened when vice-president biden said in 2012. >> governor romney's answer was revealing. he act like the cold war is still on. russia is a major adversaries. i don't know where we's been. we had disagreement with russia but they are united with us on iran. we get material to our troops
6:03 pm
through russia. they are working closely with us. is there an oil shut down in the gulf they will increase oil supplies to europe. this is not 1956. >> sean: that was 2 years before russia seized crimea. biden should have known better. joe biden is not a bright and smart person. remember secretary gate's comments. he took a wrecking ball to the u.s. oil and gas industry and killed the keystone pipeline and put restrictions on all new drilling and gave the waiver to vladimir putin to build the nord stream-2 pipeline. biden was trying to appease the
6:04 pm
new green deal party. last year 230 million barrels of oil imported from russia and pushed our nato allies into putin's hands. he begged putin to produce more oil rather than produce more oil here at home. oil that would create jobs and help our national security. we would not have to worry about saudi arabia the middle east or russia. but joe got rid of all of that. and took donald trump's energy independence and gave it away. in july putin told the world what he planned to do. july 12th to be exact. what he explained to do in ukraine. biden did nothing. nato did nothing. the world did nothing.
6:05 pm
in november he started amassing troops at ukraine's border and biden, nato and western europe did nothing. in december he threatened nato. biden and nato did nothing. now with oil and gas pricing shooting through the roof, biden is doing nothing. he is not reopening oil and gas exploration or increasing permits on federal lines or restorying the keystone xl-pipeline. the only thing biden and his friends in the media will do is use the war in ukraine to scapegoat for all of our problems. a distraction from all of biden's failures. look at this tweet from cbs
6:06 pm
news. no, we had all of those things before the ukraine crisis. when it gets worse that will just contribute to the problems that already existed. there is a crisis in ukraine. putin is a hostile actor. it's a hostile regime. he is a malignant dictator but our problems in the u.s. were not caused by putin and ukraine. they are the direct result of joe biden and his radical economic and energy policies. now the new green deal socialism is not only hurting america, it's hurting the world. the world is less safe and less secure and less prosperous. at a time like this, when america needs a strong leader, not a weak cognitively impaired
6:07 pm
shell of a human being like joey, we don't have one. joining us first in ukraine is lucas. if winken blinken is saying this is imminent and the intelligence agency are saying the same, i have to believe they know. >> that's right. secretary of state blinken thinks russia will invade ukraine before the night is over. zelensky gave a speech in russia saying he called putin but putin refused to take the call. let's look at a map of ukraine. the invasion will be justified by putin claiming he is protecting ethnic russians. north of crimea and west from the separatists areas that putin sent troops to calling them
6:08 pm
peacekeepers. close to the russia sea. massive amounts of tanks and missile and medical units arrived there in recent days. the u.n. security council is supposed to hold a emergency session tonight. >> sean: lucas. thank you. tonight a vast majority of americans disapprove of biden's handling of ukraine but according to jen psaki her boss joe biden is doing great. >> the president said that putin his days of trying to intimidate the united states and those in eastern europe. he is doing that. >> i would hardly put it that way.
6:09 pm
president biden rallied the world. rallied europe to stand up against the efforts and actions of president putin. we laid out clearly -- >> $5 gas. >> you asked me if we were intimidated by president putin. the evidence of that doesn't exist. >> sean: i am the only one that went toe to toe with putin. only one in this race that's what biden said. peter doocy asked the president if he underestimated putin. joe did not look pleased. take a look. >> [muffled audio]. >> do you think you under-estimated putin? >> thank you. >> sean: the answer, let me pick
6:10 pm
at me teeth. joe biden did say in 2020 you're absolutely right and on a number of occasions, peter i am the only one that went toe to toe with putin. under his watch as vice-president, we know what happened with putin and crimea and with zero experience hunter to get an investigator fired for visiting his son. he knows all of the players here. -- investigating. >> i know the president heard me. i heard him making a joke about my question. he said for people on zoom, oh did i under-estimate putin? after a full day of being away
6:11 pm
from the cameras and after the white house announced tomorrow's schedule, i said what is the president doing? will he be pulled into the situation room late at night if ukraine invades like the secretary of state says will happen by morning. the president is being briefed by his national security team. this is a crisis not just happening overseas and officials are not just trying to get americans to wrap their heads around the idea there will be hurting people in a far away land. this will affect people here. the economy here that is always struggling with the record high inflation in the last month, is going to be affected by an increase in fuel prices which doesn't just make it more expensive to gas up your car. that makes everything more expensive. the ripple effect of what is
6:12 pm
about to happen will be felt far and wide around the world. we are getting indications that the president's strategy to call putin's bluff, sanction him until he turns all of those tanks around and head back to russia hasn't worked. >> sean: it's not going to work, peter. by backing off the energy independence policies he inheritied, 74% of the american people including me do not want one boot on the ground or involvement. the problem is the rhetoric that putin used, you have to look at the history of georgia and belarus and the language putin is using on the batiks. -- baltics. the answer is to produce enough
6:13 pm
energy to supply to our allies. any chance of that happening? >> no. not only are they hinting at anything like that in terms of the energy markets, but they told putin they are not going to do. they said they are not going to go to war with russia. they won't send u.s. troops into ukraine. the russians are looking out the president's and jen psaki's speeches. we do a little and they sanction us a little more. that's it. >> sean: as a putin ambassador said these sanctions don't mean adam schiff to them. i sat down with former vice-president mike pence and asked him about biden, russia, oil and so much more. mr. vice-president, great to see
6:14 pm
you. in my neighborhood you are doing a fundraiser for the new york gubernatorial hopeful. welcome to this part of america where you want to get away fast because taxes are insane. >> thanks for having me. >> sean: these are troubling times. let's start with our own government saying they anticipate that a russian full on attack of ukraine is imminent, within any hour. it could happen within the next 48 hours. your reaction to that? >> i must tell you that to see the way the biden administration has handled ukraine is a testament to a historic truth. weakness arouses evil. this is an administration from very early on approved the nord
6:15 pm
stream-2 pipeline, a gift to russia. reopened negotiations over the iran nuclear deal. then the disastrous withdrawal from afghanistan. i think it created the conditions that emboldened our adversaries around the world including putin and russia to do what they are doing today. i must tell you the lack of a strong american response which would not include military troops but would include making sure ukraine has the ability to defend itself and to ship arms at record pace and have punitive sanctions before the fact of a russian invasion which has already begun, is a testament to the fact that the world has judged the leadership of the
6:16 pm
biden administration and found it wanting. now more than ever, we need to send a clear message of american strength. >> sean: we say that, okay. the trump and pence administration did not grant the waiver for the pipeline. joe biden did grant that waiver. now they announced sanctions against nord stream-2. a reversal back to your policy. there is another huge factor. one of the great accomplishments of the trump and pence administration was for the first time in 75 years america was energy independent. you left office leaving america as an exporter of energy. how big of a factor is that in this? >> it was no accident that russia did not attempt to redraw
6:17 pm
territorial lines by force under our administration. >> sean: why not? >> well, in 2008 when the bush administration was in office they went into georgia and in 2014 they took crimea when joe biden was the vice-president. we made a commitment to defend our nation and to stand with our allies around the world. we sent a message of american strength. peace comes through strength. it wasn't just that. when russian allies syria used chemical weapons on innocent civilians. then we took down isis and what
6:18 pm
russia saw, what china saw under the trump and pence administration was american strength, a commitment to defend our nation and a willingness to use force to prosecute our interest around the world. i must tell you, again, that combination of reopening the iran nuclear deal and capittulization on the nord stream-2 agreement, we put the sanctions in place -- because president trump said we will call our nato allies to live up to our commitments and oppose efforts for germany and europe to become dependent on russia for more natural gas. we put those sanction into
6:19 pm
place. it was that communication of american strength that held russia at bay. it's been the signals of weakness and most especially the disastrous withdrawal of afghanistan that emboldened putin and the only response is american strength. >> sean: i imagine president xi is watching. he spoke about reunification with taiwan. he's been very aggressive taking over taiwan air space with fighter jet. cracked down in hong kong. covid-19, the wieger minorities. there it has been no significant response. if you told joe biden what would be the position of strength at this moment, with vladimir putin on the verge of invading ukraine, how does he stop it at this late hour? the ship may have sailed.
6:20 pm
>> my view is with russian military met so-called separatists regions, they have already invaded ukraine. >> sean: agreed. >> the way to stop them and to get them to withdraw we need to continue to arm ukraine. they are not a nato ally. we don't have a mutual defense obligation but we ought to ship more anti-tank missile. under the obama administration they sent blankets and meals. we sent armaments to ukraine so they could defend themselves. we ought to redouble our efforts. the initial round of sanctions, weak as it is, is not enough to stop putin's ambitions to redraw
6:21 pm
the lines in europe by force. we ought to sanction every financial institution in russia until the russian military withdraws from the ukraine. our economy is 15 times larger than russia's economy am we are the most powerful economy in the history of the world. impose sanctions on financial institutions is to cut them out of commerce around the world. i believe we ought to put strong economic sanctions. we ought to be arming ukraine in a real sense. lastly, we ought to be moving resources through nato to allies. my concern -- as putin moves across the landscape in ukraine with ambitions well beyond the
6:22 pm
separatists areas -- it won't stop there. >> sean: you think they want the whole country? are the baltic states in play? >> in our first year in office russia was amassing trips along eastern europe with the largest military exercise. our administration sent me there to flag the flag with nato lies and make sure russia knew we would continue to keep our commitments. russian agents attempted to assassinate a head of state. the reality is we ought to be arming ukraine. making sure they can defend themselves. we ought to bring economic
6:23 pm
pressure on russia through the strength of our economy and sanctions. we ought to be shoring up our commitment to provide for the common defense to all of our nato allies. >> sean: do you have any doubt that taiwan is next and china will go after them? >> sean, i was just on the korean peninsula and china sent the second largest aerial armada against the taiwan straits than ever before. china is continuing to act in a menacing and threatening way toward taiwan. north korea fired 7 missile during the month of january alone. weakness arouses evil.
6:24 pm
whether it's north korea back to firing missiles or the military provocations of china in the taiwan straits or the south china sea, whether it will be the russian military moving into ukraine, we are learning once again the lesson of history. the free world is secure when america is strong and the world understands that we are willing to use that strength to defend our interesting around the world. >> sean: we are getting conflicting reports that the full russian invasion may be on the way. an update from the senator from the florida. and a breaking development into the criminal probe into president trump. 2 prosecutors resigned today. and alan dershowitz watching the

>> sean: joining us on the phone senator rubio from florida with breaking news out of ukraine. you sent me a text and said the full invasion is under way. do we know that for sure? >> yes, sean. it's a pretty clear direction of the plan they will be executing on. they have begun to execute it. you are seeing cyber and electronic warfare and troop movement. some of this is happening in real time. telecom is going down in parts

of ukraine. you won't be able to get live feeds on twitter. in the hours to come you will see a change in events, by the time the sun comes up. this is the -- their military plan has been understood for sometime. they executed and we have reached the stage of execution. it's just a matter of hours before it when the sun comes up. it is underway. >> sean: we know that the ukrainian government and ukrainian banks around hit by massive cyber attacks and mobile communications have been jammed in eastern ukraine. blinken said it's within hours. our intelligence community believe that was the biggest indication that a full-scale invasion is imminent. as you look at these, are they

6:34 pm
of the third or fourth largest national guess in the world. -- gas in the world. ukraine is the fourth largest wheat producer and fifth largest corn producer. the argument for ukraine he could use for the baltic states. they were part of the russian empire much longer than ukraine was. he would have a better argument in that regard. the other interesting point he didn't say he is recognizing just those areas occupied by the fake russian proxies. they argued their territory include areas the ukraine military is in possession of. he wants all of that. it goes far east into the country. >> sean: you believe even kyiv?
6:35 pm
>> well, i think it's the potential. kyiv is symbolically important to russia and the arguments that putin made. he has the pretext to get all the way to kyiv. the ukrainian people are not asking for american soldiers. we are not sending them and they are not asking for them. these guys are tough people. they will fight. this be like eating a porcupine. it won't be fun for putin. >> sean: senator, i don't understand why our nato western european allies this build-up has gone on for months. they had plenty of time to prepare for what putin said back in july, and yet nothing was done. did people not believe him? >> they didn't want to believe
6:36 pm
him. this is a big lesson. this is what happens when you depend on other countries for your energy and everything else, food. we are overly dependent on china for our supply chain. over 40% of europe's gas comes from russia and putin knows that. >> sean: joe biden imporeded 230 billion barrels of oil from russian? >> that's why putin is a fan of the green new deal in america. -- it made russian oil and gas more valuable and america more vulnerable and made putin more powerful. >> sean: i played a tape last night of then president trump in 2018 just in the face, grilling the head of nato over america
6:37 pm
paying the largest percentage of money and germany the lowest and making billion dollars energy deals with vladimir putin and making him rich and making russia rich which we were supposed to be protecting them from russia. >> yes. that's right. the most important sanction that america can impose it for joe biden to stand up behind the podium and say i am waving all of these crazy rules. america is back in the natural oil and gas business. we don't let russia have such a large share of the global marketplace for natural gas. we will start making things in america so we don't have to buy things from china. we can't be that vulnerable to these countries that are not our friends. >> sean: keep us up to speed.

6:39 pm
region. there are so many eyewitnesses on the ground with phones and open source information. we don't expect to hear from the pentagon tonight. >> sean: wouldn't that be difficult knowing that the ukrainian government and ukrainian banks all communication have been jammed over eastern ukraine? would that prevent outside media from leaking out? >> we are seeing on social media things posted. there are still cellphone towers operating. the entire country has not gone dark. i am looking at live pictures of kyiv and the electricity is still on. a state of emergency was called and the president of ukraine
6:40 pm
gave a speech online. he spoke in russian addresses ing vladimir putin who would not take his call. he said the russia troops will not see their spines, they will see their faces when they fight. this will be brutal. the weapons if place is extremely serious. everyone should pay attention to the charade going on at the united nations security council with the president of the security council feeding russia going into a sovereign nation and talking about it.
6:41 pm
the spokesperson for russia put on her facebook page talking about foreign ukraine. the arrogance the russians are speaking about ukraine a sovereign nation is mind blowing. every american needs to pay attention. vladimir putin, i lived there in the '90s. i saw him rise to power. i documented tonight on the "special report" with bret baier, the world turned their back ignoring when he broke international laws. this is not a wake up call, i don't know what is. you talked about china. china is important. but president xi has been watching this carefully to see how the world responds. he has his eyes tonight on taiwan. if the world doesn't stand up
6:42 pm
for ukraine, then that will be a green light for president xi. >> sean: jennifer griffin, i fear the worst. i think president xi is watching closely. he stated openly he believes in reunification in taiwan and has been flying fighter jet over taiwan air space. i predicted after the olympics we might see activity there as well. i hope i am wrong. jennifer griffin, thanks for being with us tonight want joining us now a former cia station chief dan hoffman. you know a lot. i have been with you in singapore and you warned me about my own personal communications. do not turn on any real phone of yours because it would be hacked.
6:43 pm
we are hearing reports that the ukraine government, banks and mobile communication s have been jammed over eastern ukraine. how will that impact the world's ability to know what is happening in this hour? >> this is part of russiaao hybrid war. i was in moscow in 2008 when russia launched a hybrid war against georgia. it's similar. false claims of genocide were made against georgia in 2008. they had attacks on land, air and sea with cyber attacks this dobbs -- donbas.
6:44 pm
jennifer griffin right that speech is worth listening to. it's one of the more eloquent speeches i have heard. the attacks in the ukraine will be felt in the region and the home line if the cyber attacks as we saw before that caused billion dollars worth of damage economically. >> sean: the jamming of communications and the cyber attacks is that consistent with russia's mo with the beginning of the invasion. blinken said within the next hour or two this is happening? >> yes, it's exactly what we saw in georgia. the father of the hybrid war, he was in belarus conducting, the army chief of staff.
6:45 pm
he was conducting military exercises in belarus. this is his strategy to combine the cyber attacks with land, air and sea attacks. make no mistake. if it does happen, there is going to be such spilled blood on both sides. that's the point that zelensky was making tonight. if putin follows through with this, this is evidence of how weak he must consider himself. the russian empire fell in the wake of world war roam i. vladimir putin has to be thinking a costly invasion of ukraine. they called them brotherly nations and one people -- i don't know how you could launch a war against your brothers like that. if he does, he could be risking
6:46 pm
his own regime. that's something i wonder whether his inner circle and it's very small might be thinking about tonight. >> sean: i sense the opposite. he senses a weakness not only with the weakened united states, the energy independence of western europe on russia for their lifeblood of their economy. let's go through the history here. in 2008 he invades georgia and set up a puppet government and set them up in perilous and annexed crimea. is this based on all of the years of intel, over 3 decades is it your belief reading
6:47 pm
putin's mind tonight this is way bigger than a peacekeepers mission for 2 independent republics? then his comments about the baltics sound similar to the ukraine. he is suggesting that ukraine doesn't even exist as a country? are the baltics next? they are nato members. >> right. he argued consistently he is defending ethnic russian in ukraine. there are plenty in the other baltic states. he is fighting ukraine and the u.s. led nato alliance and delivering a stark message to china. russia and china might be allies right now but they are long-term
6:48 pm
averts. -- adversaries. he wants to tell china to stay out of ukraine. this is my sphere of influence. vladimir putin sent 3,000 special forces it and to belarus. he wants china as well as nato to understand this is his sphere of influence and not theres. >> sean: thank you. lucas is in ukraine tonight. you are hearing all of these reports. you know about all that we have reported as it relates to the cyber attacks all over eastern ukraine. have you experienced any such disruptions yourself? >> sean, the power is still on
6:49 pm
here and the power lights are still on. there are cars on the road. monitoring social media there are concerning reports that russia forcesor the mover early this morning here in ukraine. coming north from crimea. -- there are major russian forces in crimea and the western russian city on the border with ukraine, not far from ukraine's second largest city. google maps there is a traffic jam. that doesn't mean the russian force have their iphones out but civilian are on the road and posting this. it appears like an invasion is underway. the next step according to experts could be a cruise missile strike or short range ballistic missiles.
6:50 pm
>> sean: governor christy is with us. so much ofhis is tied into from my perspective and i think you would agree that joe biden inherited energy independence and america as an exporter of energy. starting with we will stop exploration and stop the keystone xl-pipeline and stop giving out licenses to the states to drill for oil. a major reduction to the point where joe biden was importing 230 million barrels of oil from russia last year and all of this made russia and putin rich again. >> it's very much a factor.
6:51 pm
on day 1, for the biden administration he strengthened putin. cancelled the keystone pipeline and approve the nord stream-2 pipeline. he was not prioritizing american businesses and families. this is what you get when you are a weak president. a president who made the wrong decisions on foreign policies for over 4 years. i served on the armed forces committee when i was in congress. i am clear on what it means to have peace through strength. joe biden doesn't understand that becausy he's never once shown strength making decisions to protect this country. >> sean: the whole list, i know your people in your great state like south dakota. a 40 year inflation high because
6:52 pm
everything costs more. costs more to fill up your tank and every store you go to you pay more. joe biden blocked the keystone pipeline and gave putin a waiver with the nord stream-2 pipeline and put new drilling efforts in alaska on a permanent hold and suspended new exploration on federal lands and lifted sanctions for putin. how does that make any sense from a geo-political standpoint? >> it feels planned to me, sean. there is no way he could get all of those wrong and not know how it would put us where we sit today with putin. senator rubio talked about our
6:53 pm
supply chain and our energy. relying on other countries to feed us. that's a national security issue. american learned the lesson about the importance of caring for ourselves. we need to continue to focus on providing our own energy and food supply so we are not subjected to putin. >> sean: thanks for being flexible with us. ari fleischer and kellyanne conway. there are a lot of issues in play. not the least of which is what caused this. i would argue, i played a tape last night of donald trump. donald trump just face-to-face without notes outlining how idiotic it was for the united states of america to be paying
6:54 pm
the bulk of money to protect nato allies from russia while they are making multi-billion dollars deals with vladimir putin. he pointed out germany in this. he was unrelenting getting in the face of the nato leader who had no answer to that question. >> sean, you are 100% right. i remember. i sat in the meetings with president bush and obama where they politely talked to russia. that got no results. along comes the bull in the china shop donald trump. he said you need to spend your own money to defend yourself and he was right. nato did beef up and germany is one of the biggest laggers in
6:55 pm
europe. i credit donald trump for fortifying nato at a time when they needed to be fortified. i wish nato had done more. sean, the biggest problem here is vladimir putin. despite joe biden's weakness and the mistakes joe biden that encouraged vladimir putin, the first person americans need to blame is putin. he created this crisis. >> sean: i think it does have to go with him am the history is what it is starting with georgia. belarus. kellyanne conway, now he is talking about the baltics as if it's ukraine. then under the pretext this is some type of peacekeepers mission ump . you don't need 200,000 troops
6:56 pm
for peace keeping? >> no, of course not. we had vice-president harris who can put sentences together and project strength for america. thanks for reminding us there was a time when we had that. putin is to blame but biden is to blame for not keeping trust with the american people. his poll numbers crashed. americans don't approve of his handling of russia. 63% said he is not a strong leader. the most devastating to joe biden in the polling he lost the people who helped him get to the white house. women, independents and hispanics. they are watching what is going on in ukraine and russia. they see that nobody is tending
6:57 pm
to our southern border. now we are interested in this border. biden having him as the chairman of the foreign relations committee produced the opposite result. it means nothing. he is feckless and reckless. joe biden, people say it doesn't seem like joe biden and kamala harris do very much. they are ruining everything. right now unless things turn around. hunter biden has been more successful in ukraine than joe biden. >> sean: yes. if you look at obviously we have not confirmed it, but reports that putin has spoken and reporting that putin is saying, things that would be absolutely false and in this case he is
6:58 pm
conducting special operations to demilitarize ukraine all together. it seems that russia's own media is putting out his own propaganda. that's the way i read into that. we have conflicting reports. i don't want to go with that completely. >> lof course russia will put out its own propaganda. it doesn't have a free press or a free government or free people. this is what dictators do. the risk is when you allow a dictator to gobble up another country. where does he end and how right is it to do this to a sovereign free people? the signal sent to the new nato members. >> [overlapping talking].
6:59 pm
>> sean: let me make a point what putin said about nato. the reason the nations are in nato are not because nato went out and got them. they wanted as a free people to associate with the west. they wanted to be with nato because they didn't want to be under the russian yoke anymore. this is a decision free people made to align with the west. we should be proud of that and be proud they want to be nato's members. ukraine is not a nato member. it should not be defended by american troops but every nato should be and putin needs to know that. >> sean: kellyanne conway? >> i was with president trump yesterday. he raised this issue and his engagement with putin. what a contrast to have a leader, a commander-in-chief
7:00 pm
that people don't have faith in. the mainstream media that peter doocy sits in the white house press meetings, you see the seriousness -- >> sean: we see the difference. stay with the fox news channel for what is happening with russia and ukraine. let not your heart be troubled. laura ingraham taking over from here. [2. >> laura: the developments are coming in fast and furious. we are watching every minute. i am laura ingraham with the "the ingraham angle." a major new development. senator rubio tweeting that the russian invasion of ukraine is under way. lucas is on the ground with the latest. >> just a few minutes ago russian president vladimir putin declared war on ukraine. we are g
