attack killing a mother and two of her young children. in the meantime, there are so many citizens across such a large swath of ukraine under constant bombardment in the southern city of mariupol. we are told there are something like 200,000 civilians in desperate circumstances, no water, drinking from puddles in the street, little food, no power and president zelenskyy of ukraine is clearly getting angrier and angrier that the west is not doing more to help. listen here to president zelenskyy. >> think about the sense of impunity, they announced their planned ark trosities. why? there is no -- there is silence.

>> jonathan: the third ceasefire in as many days, supposed to be a third round of talks between the russian and ukrainian delegations. we expect that to get underway in a few hours, it depends whether this ceasefire holds and whether ukrainian citizens are able to make some progress towards at least relative safety. carl and he todd. >> carley: people are running out of food and water. i can imagine the situation will get worse. how do you get supplies to a city that essentially turned into a war zone? >> jonathan: it is extremely difficult to get any supplies in at all. the load of supplies has essentially been stopped in cities like the capital kyiv in southern city of mariupol. it is impossible to get anything to the people, that is why they are desperate to get out and

desperate to get to some measure of safety. mariupol, when they declared ceasefire over the weekend, they said it would take them to zaporizhzhia, where russian troops control the nuclear power plant, the biggest nuclear power plant in europe. it is a relative statement when you say they are getting out to safety. there are few places in ukraine that are genuinely safe from russian fire. todd and carley. >> carley: we spoke to the former spokesperson for volodymyr zelenskyy, she said the same thing, a lot of so-called safe corridors are just sort of getting people into russia and also belarus channelling people into those areas, as well. it is like, is this a safe situation? exactly right. jonathan, thank you for that
