carrying out through an army of terrorists right now. >> joe: that is a great description that you use here, harris. president zelenskyy's video he showed to congress on wednesday was the most heart-wrenching and graphic we've seen and brought this war home as far as the human toll. you have to wonder what vladamir putin, this war criminal, this terrorist, title of president is thinking right now. he thought this would be crimea or georgia and he would take the country in a few days or a week or two. instead the russian military is bogged down, body bags are piling up, being transported to russia. word of mouth is spreading among the russian people things are not going as planned. if ukrainian surrenders and no scenario we can see that happening given how they are protecting their homeland, how

puppet game of putin could exist in ukraine when the population will be running resistance against 24 similar 7 for as long as it takes, this is a worthy conversation. i don't see if he gets a surrender how he wins anything, it will make afghanistan look like utaupia when the soviets occupy that country, harris. >> harris: excellent point what it must be like for putin. maybe that is why he held that rally in the largest soccer stadium in russia that has 82,000 seats. there is the video on the left of your screen. we had a loose translation what he was trying, trying to pray scripture over the people. they cut away, we don't know why and went to a patriotic song. a lot was repetition. congresswoman had a good point, general jack keane, too. they did not volunteer to be

9:08 am
get more desperate. i brought up the nuclear threat because that is a big deal. we have to watch every alignment and talk about that. >> harris: yeah, and even tomi, nonnuclear weapons, he's unleashed at least one vacuum bomb, most powerful nonnuclear weapon on the planet right now, i mean, talk about chemical weapons and all of that is a concern. as you are watching this, what pops? >> tomi: you see a leader in russia getting desperate and great points have been made, i think there will be more civilian casualtys and that is tragic to see and we feel for the people of ukraine. a lot of this is about hearts and minds, the ukrainians stand strong and will fights for their country. we need to focus on the hearts and minds of the russian.
9:09 am
this is supposed to be a feather in his cap and he is losing and disgrace to him, i think he will bab down, that is what we can only hope and pray for, sense will come to his mind, he won't want to be isolated and this will end and we can get back to fixing the united states of america, there is a lot to do here. >> harris: great point, and you lauren knitting that together, the hearts and minds of russian, he's jailed 15,000 of them, could be larger number, reports of abuse in custody because they don't agree with his invasion of ukraine. so much going on on the ground that he is threatening cleansing of his own people that don't agree with him. congressman mike mccall was on, let's watch. >> mike: i've raised high-level briefings that they need to start thinking about this
9:10 am
because when that does happen, what is going to be our response? it is classic of this administration, they wait and react, like the russian have been on the border since last march building up and i urge them in november to put the lethal weapons in, now they are just coming in and they are going to get caught flat-footed. >> harris: we can't be late at every juncture and if what lauren was talking about that next level, if it does include chemical weapons and you heard the congressman there and i made this point last hour, how do you come up with red line and policy like that? you have to have one engaged so you have a strategic way not always to be on the defendefens. >> tomi: that is why congressman michael waltz said that, us threatening vague consequences saying there will be severe consequences without a red line, all it does is enable putin to escalate on his own rung by rung by rung. it was interesting, lieutenant
9:11 am
general barrier, director of the pentagon defense agency, he says war and consequences develop, this is weakening putin's conventional weaponry and effect, he is lashing out essentially and he doll it in two ways, increase the severity of the ukrainian civilians and rely on nuclear threat directed toward the west and we are seeing that in the city of lviv, up until now ukrainians had considered safe haven. russia launched over 1000 missiles into the country and we're hearing from mike tobin and trey yangst. we no longer go to the bomb shelters because we have young children, they are losing people day-by-day and they say it used to be in concentrated areas and now it is in this place we used to find safe. until putin is met with some

can't live in the past, live in the now and get as much as you can now so you are not fighting their war for them, but equipping them to keep putin from joining up with his bud and taking over eurasia. >> emily: china has been executing on this strategy to position themselves in positions of influence and power on the arctic alliance in countries in south america, africa, etcetera and emboldened through frankly the leadership with this administration to take the provocative actions that you are talking about. they put their snakes in the grass and can start striking and the fear is now to your point, has putin invasion of ukraine, which really didn't meet with much resistance from other leaders as we expected, will that embolden full-blown taiwan takeover that we expect? tomi, i want to ask you about dmroebal response, rightly so,
