this article also notes that harris believes that her race and gender are the reasons for unpopularity. that didn't hurt obama! is one of the most popular presidents we've had in the last 50 years. >> absolutely. i think with kamala harris, that's a mystifying element to her. i have this vulnerability, in which she can speak, and there's layers and layers, statement upon statement. there many objects involved. you can listen for minutes on end, and realize that she has done absolutely nothing. how impossible to do that? i think kamala harris' public incoherence -- we know that biden can stumble and stutter. he's angry, he's cranky. he is illogical.

he's conveying what he's trying to convey. with kamala harris, you are able to listen with fascination and be like "what did she say?" >> laura: biden signed a bill making lynching of federal hate crime, and -- we will let you react. >> vice president harris: lynching is not an act of the past. racial acts of terror still occur in our nation, and when they do, we must all have the courage to name them, and hold the perpetrators to account. >> laura: they have a very, very dismal view of america in 2022. what happens to hope and change? >> as far as i'm aware, there hasn't been a lynching in america in the old style for at least 40 years. this used to be a problem in america history. by the way, the party of lynching was the democrats.
7:38 pm
fdr was able to cement his alliance with other democrats by blocking antilynching laws come all of the stage wasn't swept under the rug. to me, today, passing federal laws against lynching is like passing federal laws against which burning or against cannibalism, as opposed so theoretically, you could say it's occurring somewhere someplace, but it's hardly a national or social problem. there is a dementia here. it's not only doing this, but patting yourself on the back as if this is a courageous, more role stance. >> laura: at the snap shot, a point of conversation, but it's not -- in the biden administration. he is trailing trump by six points. kamala harris is trailing trump by 11 points. they are in a pickle. if he decides he's not going to run, probably won't run, it's going to be very difficult for them not to open the door to allow her to run. she's officially going to claim racism and sexism, and yet,
