government and their people are being so extremely generous and stepping up to help with this refugee crisis, as are a number of partners throughout europe. however, it is one of the largest humanitarian crises that we have seen since world war ii. so again lethal aid and humanitarian aid is desperately needed in this situation. >> i know that's why you have written this letter to the white house demanding really specific answers on the mission for us and how we are aiding in this fight in ukraine. meanwhile, senator, the head of britain's spy agency calling out vladimir putin's failures in ukraine as u.s. intelligence believes putin's advisors are now lying to him about the progress of this war. listen. >> soldiers short of weapons and morale, refusing the carry out orders, sabotaging their own equipment, and even
8:52 am
accidentally shooting down their own aircraft. even though we believe putin's advisors are afraid to tell him the truth, what's going on and the extent of these misjudgments must be crystal clear to the regime. >> general jack keane says the u.s. has no real strategy to help ukraine overcome russia. >> i don't like saying this but the facts are we don't want putin to lose. we don't want putin to lose because we are afraid that if he loses, there will be a provocative reaction on his part. so it explains why we're not all in on helping zelenskyy win, who is begging for all of that help. >> it's really interesting analysis there. i see you in agreement with the general there. >> i am. general keane obviously has great intestinal fortitude and to be so forthright.

that's the feeling i get from that administration. they're so risk-averse when they talk about the possibility of vladimir putin doing x, y and z knowing full well the only way the ukrainians can win this war is if we're aiding them and providing the necessary support to push russia out. i think that it is imperative we are not allowing ukraine to fall to this autocratic murderous thug that has invaded a sovereign and free country. that's one thing i hope our president understands, knows, is that this is a free country. ukraine is. they want their freedom back and the only way they can have that is if nato and the united states is stepping up to assist so they can push the russian invaders out. >> final question to you with a minute left here. what does it mean, though? obviously putin's failures are
8:54 am
being clearly identified but his advisors are lying to him about what is happening on the ground there, what does it mean? >> i hope it means that the russians are doomed. and should vladimir putin decide to exercise any type of weapon of mass destruction, chemical, biological, nuclear he will become a pariah on the world stage. there is no recovering from that. i hope we aggressively aid the ukrainians in their fight for freedom but we want to see russia gone and see vladimir putin pushed back into his corner and hopefully he will stay there. >> thank you very much. tomorrow night by the way please tune in to special report, our bret baier will be speaking with ukraine's president zelenskyy happening at 6:00 p.m. eastern tomorrow right here on the fox news channel. coming up on american reports
