nowhere becomes majority stockholder of the majority holder of twitter. and then he says, yeah, i'm going to be on the board. the weekend happens, all of a sudden, i don't know what happened over the weekend he goes i don't want to be on the board. then he made a move yesterday to say i want to buy it. and i'm going to make an offer that is going to make everybody money. it's going to be at a premium. my first offer is my last offer. i'm buying twitter. >> pete: for $41 billion. which the richest man in the world. >> rachel: he can do. >> pete: can do if he wants to. we reported that yesterday morning this last and final offer was on the table. >> brian: came on on our show. >> pete: in the middle of the talk. then he went to a ted talk 2022 and he was asked obviously about his attempt to buy twitter. here is what elon musk said yesterday. >> i do think this will be somewhat painful. i'm not sure i will actually be able to acquire it. i should also say the intent is

and elon musk is challenging all of that directly. he is the richest man in the world. he is not trying to make more money. is he not donating to a foreign charity or creating a tax shelter in this case. he is using his money to allow potentially americans to speak freely. is it distressing that our own democratic system isn't working; that you would need some rich guy to swoop in to save free speech in the united states? of course it is. is it sad that we are all desperate for elon musk to save us? yes, it is. but who else is going to save us? nobody at this point. >> brian: by the way everyone freaked out that's why you have to know how important this is. all the other channels and high earners saying he can't do this. we have got to stop this elon musk is being attacked and all of a sudden the fec is lining up to see what he is doing with tesla and spacex. that's going to make him double and triple down sales force mark ben hough says i want to buy it

>> carley: manhunt underway in phoenix, arizona for a suspect accused of shooting a police officer. authorities say it happened yesterday outside of a gas station. police were responding to a domestic violence call when the suspect drove up to the scene and opened fire. the injured officer has only been identified as a female, 24 year veteran of phoenix pd. she is in stable condition. thank god. the man accused of opening fire on a brooklyn subway train shooting 10 people and hurting 19 others appeared in court. frank james was arraigned on a federal terrorism charge yesterday. a judge ordering him to be held without bail and the head of the mta speaks out blaming bad internet connection for the subway's surveillance malfunction at the time of the attack. the mta chairman say, quote: the cameras were working. the internet connection failed. listen to this. california congresswoman maxine waters has paid her daughter

lviv. good morning. >> good morning. this morning the russian defense ministry now saying it is going to increase the number and scale of missile attacks in the kyiv area in response to what russia says is sabotage on russian territory. but this is all coming the timing of it after russia's premier warship sank yesterday 60 miles south of odesa. that's a major setback for the russians here in ukraine. that flagship vessel became a somewhat infamous symbol of ukraine's defiance in the early days of war. you may remember that ukrainian border guard told that ship to go blank themself. now that massive ship has sank. ukrainian officials claim they used decoys and hit the ship with a neptune antiship missile while russia acknowledged just a fire aboard. u.s. and other western officials have not confirmed what caused that fire. either way, roughly 500 russians had to ban done that ship. as a result. other russian warships have

moved further away from the ukrainian southern coast. and this morning, ukraine's defense minister trolling russia online with this tweet quote: a flagship russian warship is a worthy diving site. we have one more diving spot in the black sea now. we will definitely visit the wreck after our victory in the war. by the way, i already have 300 scuba dives. america's $800 million draw down package of heavy weaponry, heavy helicopters and are a till ler delay should be arriving in ukraine a few days. russia continues to warn that u.s. providing offensive assistance, that could lead to further direct military conflict here. and the cia now says chinese president xi is a silent partner in russian president putin's war on ukraine, calling that partnership the greatest challenge the cia faces warning that china seeks to overtake the u.s. in every domain from economic strength to military power.

>> brian: right. they will get there i don't know if people have been following it but we have a midterm coming up in november. if you are looking at the president's approval ratings right now you have got to look really down low because they are at 33% according to the quinnipiac poll. when you talk about young votes is he shedding the youth vote and black vote still in his camp but not by the margin that democrats are used to. >> pete: that's right. democrat strategists are stownsding the alarm. they are talking publicly about it because they see it coming. here is one democratic strategist michael stratton saying in the daily mail democrats need to, you know, wake up here smell the coffee, and start to get ready. another unnamed democratic strategist no one is going to have to vote on vladimir putin any time soon and i think that's a reference to the whole putin price hike as if they are going to be able to unload the inflation that's been unleashed on our economy on a war when you know, just basic reading of a line graph shows you that -- or looking at your bank account

shows you inflation started right about january 20th. >> rachel: it was pretty ridiculous of them to try to pass this off as a putin price hike. even strategists like axelrod were saying very early on this is probably not going to work. that might be why you see approval numbers for joe biden, look at this, his handling of his job as president, only 33% approve. 54% disapprove. mark penn, a very well-known former clinton pollster says that joe biden's poll numbers are in big, big trouble. take a listen. >> these are spectacularly low numbers. to really get down to it, only a third being favorable and in the 20s on independence. of course makes reelection a virtual impossibility. the administration has got to pivot or this is going to be a tornado of a midterms if these numbers continue to hold up.

and, frankly, they have had month after month here to do something to turn around on inflation, on immigration, on ukraine, on crime. and they just haven't done it. they have done small, little incremental changes. they need big changes to change some big numbers. >> brian: the thing that's good about mark, i don't even know -- i'm sure is he probably a democrat. the thing is he just looks at numbers. that's why you can honestly get an hun nancy pelosi take from him. a couple of things. the president thinks he -- they are not doing a good job of saying how good a job they are doing. they believe they have done a great job. they just don't tell anybody about it think about this. the things that they try to do. the build back better. if you look at people like larry summers. they say the 1.9 trillion they put into the system in march when they first took over in 2020, that really put -- they put the inflation on warp speed. said we shouldn't have done that we didn't -- the president wanted to do build back better it failed because of sinema and manchin. because it failed he alienated his democratic base.

college days. it's a unique group of guys. and then the biggest thing is i think a lot of people think this is a developmental league or d league very competitive played very well and prove that to everybody saturday night. >> carley: a lot of nfl guys, college football guys. people from all over. how did you choose the players and the coaches that will make the league successful? >> the biggest thing was definitely our coaches. that was one of the most important things that we did. we have got eight great head coaches. i knew they this networks back to the people they have been associated with through the course of their career. i knew we would get good staffs. infamous on teachers. teach the game of football whether x's and o's and develop the passion for the game. we all started there with the 8 head coaches. the players, just the guys available to us and all the different classifications. you know. so guys have that have been out of the nfl for a little while. some of the guys that have been a part of some of these other leagues at time and then also this year it's such a big draft class in 2022 able to tap into some of the younger guys.
