one child was among the victims. the city has been considered a safe haven for countless refugees during the war. matt. >> just behind me is a tire repair facility that was hit by one missile. there were four missile strikes total in this region, three were military targets and one ended up being a domestic or civilian locations, which is what you are looking at. 40 cars were damaged or destroyed. you see the windowed blasted out of the facility. there is small smoke coming from it. we have to acknowledge what a remarkable response from emergency crews here. dozens of different emergency crews quickly getting the fires out here in this area. this is just feet away from a

railway. the repair facility is a target because ukrainians are transferring military supplies on trains and refugees are coming and going on the railways. we talked to a young man who lives in the area and here is what he had to say. >> yes, people have fear and -- explosion on themselves and they are scared. sgls right now, you could still smell the smoke and the burnt rubber. beginning 8:45 this morning, we saw black plumes across the city and 48 hours ago, four russian missiles were intercepted and this morning the missiles were not intercepted and the last strike in lviv was on march 24th. just to give the setting. lviv is far western side of ukraine, a short distance from poland, town of 800,000 people.

there are a lot of refugees from the eastern block of russia, seeking a safe haven. thousands of people on saturday were coming and going and there were heartbreaking stories of mothers and children, new sdlt borns leaving the town seeking safety. the train station is active in this area and there is a military base not far from here. there were air raid sirens going off this morning and we were given the all clear. remarkable cleanup on both on the street and the side of the missile strike. back to new york. >> todd: this war has been going on for weeks now and yes, all of ukraine is a war zone. there was a sense, at least from us, that lviv was safe or safer than other places. has that sense of calm been

♪ >> carley: three mass shootings rocking the nation as crime surges from coast to coast this easter weekend. >> todd: ashley strohmier has all the details? >> rocked this easter weekend in multiple incidents. it does include a massive air b. and b. party in pittsburgh where two 17-year-old boys were killed. police say at least 200 people were at the party when the shots rang out hitting at least 11 people. as many as 50 shots were shot off. no suspects named in the attack.

but then in columbia, south carolina, police arrested a suspect in connection with saturday's shooting at a shopping mall that left 14 people hurt that suspect was charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm. but was released on just a $25,000 bond and is permitted to go-to-and from work. with an ankle monitor. police say more charges are possible and they are seeking at least two other suspects. and a third mass shooting yesterday morning also in south carolina. at least 9 people were hurt near a restaurant in rural hampton county. still unclear what led to the shooting and police have yet to release any further information. meanwhile, in portland, a local county sheriff issuing a warning over the surge of violent crime writing, quote: we need to act with a sense of issue genesee. summer is approaching at a time when we typically see increase of via balance our community. violent crime, traffic fatalities and overdose deaths are at historically high rates. without action we can expect twors come.

have you seen mayors now coming and begging to the federal government for more funding because they have defunded the police or had their stays defund the communities because of the movement the last two years. quite frankly you are seeing violence increase everywhere across the country. i'm very lucky. i have great hard core sheriffs and chiefs of police in the country. we don't have much much a problem with that what you are seeing around the nation is scary this person shah shot or injured 14 people. 14 people is now just gonna take a walk and go to work the next day like no big deal. i wonder what his co-workers were thinking. >> carley: when you look at polls, congresswoman. one of the issues that americans are most concerned about is crime. so if republicans take back control of the house and senate, what can be done on this issue to make america a safer place. >> well, certainly certain states and blue cities to fund
