universe and governor ron desantis has shown himself to be full command of it and for that reason, tomorrow night orlando to host a live town hall. florida and the american comeback. the governor desantis will be with us the entire hour and will be joined by current disney employees by the active turn and a lot of other special surprises. tune in tomorrow and greg gutfeld is next. >> carley: fox news alert, billions of taxpayer dollars being used to push critical race theory in school. >> todd: the money which was included in president biden's covid relief package now being used in blue states to implement antiracism with bias. you are watching "fox & friends first" on thursday morning i'm todd piro. >> carley: carley shimkus. take a look at these numbers, california used $15 billion to include training such as antibias strategies and lgbqt
1:01 am
plus competency. >> todd: new york spent $9 billion to put diversity, equity and inclusion at the heart and illinois was given $5 billion, which allowed them to put a emphasis on equity and diversity in school districts. like i said, the american rescue plan was built as vital to save american lives. turns out it was vital to keeping crt front and center in your kids school. >> carley: this is exactly right. and this story combines two things that a lot of people are worried about. first of all, covid relief spending and the fact that it is being used to push critical race theory in classrooms is next level. we did note that the american rescue plan money, two things that was not covid related like golf courses and amusement parks in the entire associated press report that exposed to that.
1:02 am
but the fact that this is being used to do something political in the name of getting classrooms back open is a huge eye-opener this morning. >> todd: let's not forget that so many people including so many we interviewed on this fairy show lost everything, lost their entire livelihood because of democrat covid restrictions. and yet, this money, this money is being used to simply indoctrinate a new generation. basically it is woke training to get these kids to become the activists of tomorrow. if i ran a restaurant and i lost that restaurant because i could not get covid relief at the beginning of the pandemic, yet, billions upon billions of dollars are used for this stuff come i would be more livid than i was over the course of the last years. >> carley: you think about what happened in virginia. it goes back to loudoun county and that really been ground zero of the fight against critical race theory in schools and help
1:03 am
governor glenn youngkin basically won on that issue alone. i mean, that was his number one focus. the fact that this is happening, yes, in other liberal states across the country, but there are conservative parents who live in those states. and this is a lot of money. this is a lot of taxpayer dollars. it is exactly what people are talking about about too much government spending not knowing what is in these bills. and then after the fact, you find out that covid pandemic money in schools that were fighting to stay closed, not being used for ppe or ventilation but for the purposes of critical race theory. it is unbelievable. >> todd: it is not just conservative parents. >> carley: that is true. >> todd: in virginia, democrat parents were fired up about the crt step. you better believe there are a lot of democrat parents out there this morning waking up and hearing this news that taxpayer dollars went to shenanigans and what you see on your screen in these liberal states. i know, they probably voted
1:04 am
democrats their entire lives. but what you see on your screen billions of their dollars going to crt in all likelihood will switch a lot of them upcoming midterm elections. you can't understand why anybody would vote for this. >> carley: people are voting with their feet as well. california, illinois, new york stating maybe it's time to make a move out of the state. another fox news alert, secretary alejandro mayorkas for clement the border crisis is under control. many republicans are calling on him to resign on future impeachment. >> todd: douglas eder in washington. >> good morning a rough day yesterday and warm up for today. alejandro mayorkas will be back on capitol hill later this morning to testify before the house judiciary committee. that followed yesterday's appearance when he claimed the border is effectively managed. >> we inherited a broken and dismantled system that is
1:05 am
already under strain. it is not built to manage the current levels and types of migratory flows and only congress can fix this. we have effectively managed an unprecedented number of citizens seeking to enter the united states. >> okay the numbers at the border already through the roof and mayorkas is defending a decision by the biden on temporary hold by a judge to lift title 42 pandemic restrictions at the border next month. he admits though that this will create a new groundswell of illegal immigration. >> i make god to man. on the moment. we've been called upon to resign by myself and others. next year we will have the majority in this committee which we shall. you are still in office and you will face impeachment. >> deportations plummeted while illegal immigration skyrocketed.
1:06 am
and that is only possible because secretory mayorkas did not enforce the law. i bow don't make vow to you will use oversight with secretary mayorkas disregard for federal law. >> now mayorkas said he had the six-point plan to deal with the border crisis including surging regular workers from the veterans administration and elsewhere to the southern border. he also said he offered to shut down former president trump's border wall. the plan has cost $72 million, todd and carley. >> carley: douglas luzader thank you so much for that. $17 million to shut down the wall for political reasons. that means we bought the supplies to build that wall, $72 million of taxpayer money. and it went to waste. some of it, they are say is rotting along the southern border. and keep in mind that president biden voted in 2006 for the secure fence act, which paid for 600 miles of border
1:07 am
fence. so, the wall was not a new idea. in 2006, president biden supported it. at that time, a lot of democrat said it didn't go far enough. >> todd: may i state the obvious? if you don't want to waste $72 million, i don't know, build the wall with somebody? getting to the overall issue here, mayorkas said this administration has "effectively manage the situation." if this is effective management, corley my shudder to think what the opposite is peer of the solutions, we have people on the show all the time that go through the solutions manpower border patrol, build a wall, specific location so you can more effectively manage what's going on. let i.c.e. do his job to keep title 42 and remain in new mexico. nonetheless this administration consistently says we can't solve this. this is all in congress his hands. it is not. it is squarely in your pocket.
1:08 am
you call it a crisis and you need to solve it. >> carley: and the fact that mayorkas said he effectively manage the border wall less than a week after bishop evans died. trying to save two migrants lives and the casket being carried by other texas national guard meant would have moved the needle and some sort of way, but it has not appeared for him to say that the border situation has been effectively managed after the death of an american hero is pretty stunning. >> todd: we will have congressman pat phelan and carlos gimenez on to respond to the contentious mayorkas later this morning. you don't want to hear that. >> carley: more to come on that. russian vladimir putin to speak about retaliation against any nation that stands in moscow's way in ukraine. >> todd: meantime international community scrambling to get humanitarian relief to the devastated city of mariupol. >> carley: live in lviv, matt.

bickel president zelenskyy gave a speech marking the 36 anniversary this week of the chernobyl disaster and made a call for global control of russia's nuclear weapons while a former defense intelligence agent tells fox news that call might have been reckless and it's only going to anger vladimir putin who gave yet another concerning a warning to any country that assist ukraine. >> if someone intends to intervene from the outside and create strategic threats, they should know that our retaliatory will be lightning fast. we have all the tools for this. >> todd: in the u.s. secretary of defense lloyd austin tells fox news despite rs ongoing nuclear threat, he does not think this will all end in nuclear war. and in mary opal, the one courtr leveled and ukraine commander

1:12 am
this latest rhetoric from vladimir putin and don't test us. we got nukes. >> i think there were two facts to vladimir putin in petersburg. first come over messaging on the part of vladimir putin. he knows president biden has expressed concern over world war iii. those are the president's terms if fresh and the united states to engage in direct conflict with one another. putin is seeking to deter the united states and nato allies from providing the military assistance that ukraine depends on to carry on the fight. putin is not succeeding at that. we are providing massive amounts of military aid, phoenix ghost drones system with lethal capability, tanks, helicopters, the list goes on. but rush is very concerned. the other facet of this the intelligence community has to be focused on is what is really
1:13 am
going on inside the kremlin and the russian military and how serious russia might be about using weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons on the battlefield given the poor performance of the russian military. >> carley: there has been concern of russia using nuclear weapons and so far thank god that hasn't been the case. do you think that putin's bark is worse than his bite or is this a legitimate concern? >> i think we have to take it as a legitimate concern here this is why putin's war is running downhill on ukrainian pavilions. i think it is important for president biden to get up on the bully pulpit today and i hope he does and emphasized to the russian military that this can stop here that we can get back to a relatively normal relationship with russia or at least on a path to that. if the russian military stops taking orders from the guy in the kremlin to watch these barbaric attacks against ukraine citizens and their cities.
1:14 am
and i think, again, this is very high, very important for the intelligence community to track putin intentions at this time and how his inner circle is responding. >> todd: absolutely frightening and chilling as the white house family on a rant having a nuclear weapon within weeks. here is the white house. >> that nuclear program which had pushed back the breakout time to a year in terms of being able to produce the weapon, that is down to a matter of weeks. their program -- >> yes, it worries us and rapidly reduce cooperation international specters nonperformance of iran nuclear deal commitment. >> todd: you heard them, dan, why, oh, why is the white house not doing anything to stop this from happening? the white house, and i should add, democrats in congress, all who want jcp i ended.

watch this. >> our immigration system is broken. democrats and republicans on that. right now, democrats have the house, the senate and the white house and have done nothing to get comprehensive immigration reform. and you know, congressman i was thinking back to january 2021 in the first thing president biden did was to get rid of remain in mexico and free deportation for the first 100 days. that sent a signal around the world come on over here at our borders are open. >> right. there's been a recent conversion as you just mentioned with the democratic colleague at least 50 of them but you have to question whether this is politics or policy. midterm election by all accounts they will do poorly in six months from now, so they can sign the discharge in the house to get a bill to the floor. i don't believe have any yet. maybe henry cuellar from texas but the rest, all words.

and not just myself but all 535 members of congress, the house and the senate. don't believe a word we say. look at how we do what we vote. that is what i would ask the american people to do. >> carley: are you going to vote on this issue to make title 42 permanent, or maybe something with dreamers versus border security. what is the congressional conversation like right now? >> well, that is a great point. and also blame congress. who runs congress right now? the democratic party controls both chambers. if they bring that to the floor, every republican will vote for it. and apparently may be at least 50 democrats. they only have a nine seat majority in the house and evenly split 50/50. they don't need any democrat to vote with us. but they just called 50 and they don't do -- we have right now the border patrol will tell us have 3500 illegal border crossings in a day, stretching

the resources to the limit. anything more than that there will be on the border unmanned. we have 9,000 a day so the cartels will be clever. $4,000 per migrant that crosses the border. doing the math $1 billion a month they were making just in human smuggling never mind the narcotics. so they will flood a sector with people and border patrol, processing them, transporting them, changing diapers, covid test and cartel bringing drugs across. we see record numbers of narcotics hitting the streets. >> todd: really quickly here, what will happen with title 42? a federal judge blocked it temporarily but what is next? >> well i hope that's upheld, quite frankly. this administration, quite frankly, don't respect the rule of law. and the migration protection has been ordered to be put in place. they are dragging their feet on that. so it will be interesting. such a backlash that we might

see title 42 remain in place and i hope that is the case. >> carley: congressman pat fallon thank you for joining us. >> thanks, carley, good luck. >> carley: american families struggling with rising prices so one group of officer decided to do something by handing out cash to pay for groceries there that inspiring act of kindness a straight ahead. >> todd: looking forward to that end joining us live on fox & friends first
