really dug into this exactly. we of course support this earth. let me see if i can get more specifics. we know there has been a range of disinfo out there about a range of topics, including covid, for example, also elections and eligibility but i will check and see if there is more specifics. >> brian: she doesn't want to dig into it yet. here's the real deal. democrats are looking down the barrel of a giant midterm clobbering in november. their own pollsters are saying it. if elon musk purchase twit they're week they have lost their grip over the one thing that helped them win in 2020 more than anything else, perhaps, control over big tech. so, now they are desperate and they are willing to do anything to hold on to this power and they see it slipping away. even if it means creating a state led censorship division. where instead of relying on big tech they will just do it themselves. so, joe biden's goal is to control the discourse and soften the blow come the midterms. anyone points out the obvious the democratic policies so far have failed the american people

so let's bring in our first guest douglas murray the author of "war on the west." a great book. he happens to be a fox news contributor. douglas, am i overreacting to this? >> no. absolutely right. this is terrifying. totally unqualified for the task by her own admission. the fact is that nobody should be seeking to perform this task. i mean, you know, the free press is meant to be free for a reason which is that it should be able to expose wrongdoing in government and there should be no attempt to shut that down. what do we live in now in america? a country where the tech companies in collaboration with deep state operatives and others, tried to silence the "new york post" story before the last election and, you know, what i want to know is what side is this woman on in that? oh, she is on the side of censoring the free press. she would have had the american public go to the polls as ignorant as possible of that truth. we know one of the other things that the democrats might not

want us to know at the moment, one of the other bits of miss information, disinformation that they will and won't crack down on. are the democrats going to crack down on the people lying about ron desantis' bill in florida? you know, the people pretending that ron desantis is trying to stop people saying the word gay in florida as opposed to just trying to stop teachers teaching gender nonsense to kindergarten students? is that going to seen to be misinformation, disinformation? i wouldn't have thought so. what about jen psaki herself when she claims that they are not moving migrants from the southern border and distributing around the country in the middle of the night because it is 3:00 a.m. and that doesn't quite count as the middle of the night. is that miss information? they always say who guards the guardians? that's these people are not fit tore guardians. we are free people and we should have a free press. brian it gets even better adam schiff the guy with no credibility still wants to sale book about his credibility says here's my take on the world's richest man buying twitter.

platform. >> brian: it's hysterical. that gets posted. what happened? >> well, i mean, we put it on twitter, obviously. we couldn't do it from our account because we are locked out. we put it out there on our personal account and gets flagged for sensitive content. it's like they couldn't declown themselves any more when there is a joke made how sensitive they are flag it sensitive content. what about that was sensitive content? funny take on how twitter employees are reacting. i'm glad that they're upset. if the twitter employees were really happy about what is going on. that was would be a bad sign. the fact they are distraught about all of this means something good might be happening. >> brian: right, seth. are you guys going to get back on? do you know? >> i hope so. we're not going to get back on by deleting the tweeted. we have decided we are not going to delete that tweet that twitter wants us to. it's just a matter of when that is going to happen. at this point the company is not in musk's control yet.

brian all right. a lot can change in a year. when it comes to joe biden and kamala harris, that is a big understatement. remember how happy the pair seemed when they first took office together, all smiles? everything was going great? we did it, joe? this is about biden. this is what biden said about their relationship just last february. >> i made the same deal with her that barack and i maids. when barack and i were working out our relationship early on he said do you have any requests? and i said well, just one, i get to be the last person in the room on every important decision. >> brian: he kept that person kamala harris was the last person in the room when joe biden decided to pull all our troops out of afghanistan. that turned out well, right? so glad she signed off on it that wasn't the last of the obama biden traditions joe biden carried over to his presidency. >> we do the same thing barack did we have lunch alone once a week that's the deal when we are both in country which hasn't been for a while because of covid. and i see her, you know, all the

time. >> brian: in 2021 biden and harris did have several private lunches together but then something strange happened. those meetings kind of stopped. guess how many lunches they have had together so far in 2022 not many. according to a review of their public schedules, not denied, they have dined twice together. two times. and the press is starting to take notice. jen psaki was asked about it yesterday. >> weekly lunch with vice president still a priority for him? >> absolutely. obviously they are not going to be dining in person while she is quarantining at home but they did speak yesterday. i expect they will speak regularly while she is quarantining and she is participating in a number of policy meetings here, too. >> brian: that sounds like a no to me. if they were being honest. if they were being really honest, this is not surprising. after everything we have learned, these last couple of months, it's pretty clear that the only thing they are serving up in the west wing of the white house, is awkward silence. sarah huckabee sanders is the former white house press secretary as you know. and a republican gubernatorial

candidate for the state of arkansas. sarah, you are perfect person to ask. what do you think is going on here? >> look, no offense to anybody, but i wouldn't want to have lunch with either one of them. and i think it's no surprise at all that tensions are high. when every single thing that you are responsible for and working on is falling apart, whether it is record high crime, whether it's the crisis at the border, whether it's inflation, everything these two touch they destroy. in fact, it seems to be the only thing they're in sync on whatever they are working on they ruin it and it is no surprise that there is constant infighting and tension because that's usually what happens when everything is going wrong. when things are going well, people get along a lot better. but that's not the case certainly in this white house or in this administration. >> brian: couple times chronicled in this book coming out. joe manchin needed to be persuaded. she was actually asked to leave the oval office so joe could do

did himself. another time he went behind closed doors to try to convince republicans to go for his build back better plan. when she started to talk he shut her down right away to the point where some republicans said it was really alarming. the quote is such a harsh tone that even the republican senators were taken aback. that's tough. you get dressed down in front of the other party. >> i mean, i think joe biden has figured out what most of america figured out a long time ago is that she is not bringing anything to the table. one of the biggest things that she was handed and asked to be responsible for was the crisis at the border. she refused to go to the border, to actually address the problem, to deal with it. and it has only gotten exponentially worse since she was asked to look over it. it's absolutely shouldn't be surprising at all that there is a lot of friction there. when you continue to fail over and over and over again people start to walk away and take that responsibility away from you.

and maybe he is just figuring out what the rest of us learned a long time ago. >> brian: sarah, i can't imagine that mike pence got the portfolio to handle pandemic response and told president trump no, here you go. that's not something i want to do. she basically said no. and you think responding to a pandemic was easy for mike pence? almost everybody both sides of the aisle credited him for working hard and doing his best and actually executing effectively. is that the way you saw it? >> absolutely. and there were a number of other moments where he was a great ally and great representative on the hill. he was one of the first people when the administration was pushing specific policy points and packages and they needed to bring members on board. he was one of the first people deployed to go to the hill and talk to members of congress. and get them on board. one, because he had the president's confidence to do so and two because he had relationships with members and they respected him. that is certainly not the case here and you are seeing that

play out in realtime and i think the white house is actually kind of throwing their hands up and it doesn't feel like they even care that people know that confidence has been lost there anymore. >> brian: i want you to hear this. you are a mom. i want you to hear what the president said about kids when they were in school when it relates to teachers. listen. >> we always talk about these children. they are not someone else's children. they're all you children. they are our children. >> brian: insulted by terry mcauliffe? that's the problem 40 hours it's indoctrination. >> it's beyond that it's total delusion. because the idea that the kids no longer belong to you because they are at school is absolute insanity. i don't remember them being there when my kids were born. i don't remember them tucking them in at night or being there in every moment of their life and the idea that somehow they

you have been called upon to resign by myself and others, save the country the pain of your impeachment. >> brian: tom homan the former acting ice director knows about the border and spent most of his career there tom, did you learn anything from today? >> i witnessed the first cabinet member i have ever seen sit secretary of homeland security lie under oath to members of congress. look, what he said, infuriated me most the border closed and secure. how do you say that when you have got over 2 million arrests. over 700,000 got-aways. 700,000 people enter this country got away. we don't know who the hell they even are we had almost 700 migrants die on u.s. soil. a record. massive amounts of fentanyl came across the border that killed over 100,000 americans. how is that secure and closed border? the man is lying to members of congress and lying to the

american people. >> brian: but, tom, do you know what gets me? he knows how to do the job he worked under jeh johnson. you have seen him. he knows how to do it. he chooses not to do it. other thing that brought up and i thought about you right away he said i inherited a broken border. i inherited a broken system. i'm trying to fix it and i call on congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform. how do you feel about his statement? >> i have been serving this country since 1948 as a border patrol agent. i got a lot more time in immigration issues and border issues than he ever had. the bottom line we handed him under the trump administration the most secure border in my lifetime. illegal immigration down to a 40-year low. illegal immigration down 83%. let's women getting sexually assaulted and less fentanyl coming in and a hell of a lot less got aways. again, is he lying to the american people and members of congress. he inherited a secure border. he kept saying we inherited a

dismantled system. they dismantled it the president over 97 orders dismantled the trump policies that worked. that worked. >> brian: right. so, tom, he also said well, i can't do the remain in mexico policy because i'm not for that because there was so much crime that took place when these illegal immigrants were waiting to come to our country and find out about their fate. final thought on that? >> well, that's fascinating. lips moving. show me the stats and data. bottom line is we know what the data is in the united states. over 100,000 americans died fentanyl overdoses. 700 died crossing that border. we know 700,000 got-aways. they arrested 42 on the terrorist watch list and he doesn't even know where the hell they are. how many of the 700,000 on the terrorist watch list came to this country to do us harm? god help us, brian. we are in trouble. >> brian: tom, my fear is you get rid of him, is he going to put some other person in there that's going to be doing somebody else's agenda the

is joe biden making the right decision? >> well, i'm with david axelrod on this. this may have had a good purpose at one time to raise money for scholarships for journalism students but i'm with the ax. there is bipartisan agreement between the obama political guy and the bush political guy. this has turned into a, i think, a self-gratifying moment of, you know, just weirdness. and you know, the networks and the compete against each other to get the most with it couple. somebody has kim kardashian coming with, you know, her latest bo. and this is call it -- let's call it a day. let's end it. let's stop the spending and weirdness and stop the dinner. find a way to honor the correspondents that you want to honor, but the idea of dragging the president of the united states in so he has to give you a speech that makes him look funny and mocks himself and then you get up and insult him with

the entertainment that you have unless you are a democrat president, which case you will have somebody that will get up and mock the republican opponents of the democratic presidents. this has worn out its welcome let's stop. >> brian: president had odd series of announcements today more aid for ukraine and other things. and russia, of course, is threatening nuclear war. tell me if they would be intimidated by these remarks. >> we're going to seize their yachts, their luxury homes and other i will begotten gains of putin's atoc -- yeah. autocracy. -- the guys cleptocracy but these are bad guys. >> brian: do you think that helped? >> painful to watch. difficult to hear. and no, it's not helpful. at a moment that we need to project strength and consistency.

obviously nobody read that-ran that speech by him so that he would say you know, that's an uncomfortable word for me. can you find another way to say that? but bad moment. let's hope it doesn't matter much. but putin is looking at us not just because of words spoken but more importantly because of past actions. they led did this miscalculation on february 24th when he invaded ukraine. looked at the defense budget, 1.5% increase. abolishing our energy sufficiency that allowed us to export oil and gas withdrew the sanctions on nord stream 2 without getting any concession, for five months between june and november. we stopped sending ukraine lethal assistance. we stopped it in the first place because the president was going to meet with putin. wanted to look nice before he went to his meeting. but it took him five months to restart the assistance. lots of mistakes made. president has done pretty well since this crisis began.
