projected. >> laura: by any objective measure, america across the board is facing the most severe challenges in our nations history. in china, we have a dangerous geopolitical threat. there is a war raging in eastern europe. the dow dropped 1,063 points today. inflation is outpacing wages. our industrial base is crippled. and of course, we are 30th $30 trillion in debt. this is the time when america needs leaders to attack all the major issues one by one and a practical and sophisticated way. unfortunately, with biden, we have a fundamentally frivolous and unfundamental group of people. let alone having the type of executive leadership and judgment that we all need and deserve. now, nobody even things at this point biden does anything

have been in there in the first place. mayor peter, he can bike away. almost all of the economic advisor should go. on what basis should jerome powell be a nominated fed chair by the way? no basis. white house needs to admit that they made mistakes. a lot of them. then they can begin to move forward. maybe to begin repairing what they in fact wracked. but the reality, you think about it. let's be very candid in this moment of distress for america. they do not care what happens to you. they think gas prices should be higher. there are only jealous of europe's gas prices. they think countries should be stronger than ours and that we should be weaker. they think schools should be used to promote radical social agendas, and they think government funds should be distributed to those groups were likely to help the democrats.

they think criminals deserve a break and that you never do. for the next six months, they are going to scream and wail like you had elizabeth warren the other day about everything except stuff that will actually help you and your family. but the dow was plummeting today, this is what cnn locked on. >> there are more tapes, newly released audio revealed kevin mccarthy talk about removing donald trump from office. how many more tapes could be out there? >> if you're kevin mccarthy, you're hoping there are zero more tapes. >> laura: they will encourage people to riot and smash things, use mail in ballots, stuff the ballot boxes, they'll do that as well. one of the most shameful things that happened in the past 50 years is that so many who spent their careers pretending to be republicans have abandoned the supporters who voted for them or rather allows the articles in the first place.

are we in the biden recession now? >> well, i don't think we're in a recession right this moment. but i've got to tell you, with record high inflation, it's going to be almost impossible to avoid a recession. given the fact that there is no confidence in joe biden and by the way, there is no confidence in jay powell, we could wind up with an inflationary recession which would be the worst of all possible worlds. both of those guys are trying to whitewash the inflation problem, so what you've got now is market interest rates are rising, real incomes -- real wages after inflation are falling. it's difficult. consumer confidence is down. small business confidence is down. no, i don't agree or in a recession right now, but as i

say i think it'll be virtually impossible to avoid a recession. either later this year or next year. >> laura: larry, here's how one of biden's economic advisor viewed the economy today. >> is this economy in a position of strength to face what's coming at us? of the answer you look at the job market and the gdp growth, you look at household incomes are doing it, savings are doing, you we conclude that we are approaching this moment from a position of strength. >> laura: gdp shrank last month. inflation is destroying savings. people are getting poor in the united states. what are these people talking about? is this in any way going to calm the market? >> i want to say jared bernstein is an old friend of mine and personally he's really a good --
