>> joey: that is an elected official, politics are not the only way to pick law enforcement officers and people carrying out the law. what are you hearing from residentss of l.a. county as you collect signatures? >> this has been a unifying effort across bipartisan lines, definitely not political for the people involved. many co-chairs and victims, our representatives, are democrats who voted for george gascon. this crossed beyond partisan politics and it is about public safety and restoring order and getting victims justice who you heard storying what they have gone through. >> joey: on the topic of being nonpartisan or bipartisan, do you think this effort will have ripple throughout the state of california? could we see republicans do better or win in statewide seats? >> it is hard to speculate on the statewide issues.

joins us now. good morning, lara. >> good morning, good to be with you. >> joey: seems president trump had a good rebuttal the maga crowd being the most extreme political? i don't understand where the president was going with that? >> the whole thing, joey is absolutely absurd. of course coming from joe biden. my father-in-law has a point, you look back to what donald trump was able to do in just one term in office in four years. donald trump positioned america better than any previous recent president in two full terms in office. and it is the policies of donald trump that could actually go to writing the ship now to saving america to turning us back on the right track. you know, when you have things like a military more concerned with pronouns than military readiness, you have got a fully open southern border, i mean, really just letting anyone in whether they are -- you know,
