convulsion this is scary stuff. one of those who died mysteriously is a man from birmingham, alabama he was there celebrating an alabama man who is celebrating a wedding anniversary with his wife there. another hotel guest posted this on facebook writing it sounds like it may have been eight faults with the ac in the unit causing a toxic coolant leak. that has not been confirmed yet. that is a thought from one of the hotel guests and that resort. so guy, so many people right now it is may, heading out to vacation. even if you are not right now, how do you not think about this when you close your eyes at night and you hear the air conditioning going off it showed a low you to sleep. i don't know how you don't think about this. >> it is such a freak accident that's incredibly rare part of heard a few stories like this in the past or maybe something went wrong and ac units, if that is the case here think will probably see some lawsuits. it is extremely, exceptionally

rare but the human psyche goes to the catastrophe goes to the had vacation disasters you hope those do not happen to you while you're gone but this is the ultimate nightmare. what a horrible, sad thing. imagine celebrating something special in your life at this great place in the sun you have been looking forward to it, you've been saving up for it and then this happens. it is unspeakably sad to pray. >> as reading an interview with the one of the sons of one of the victims it was absolutely because his mom and dad go to vacation and then this happens. you just don't expect something like this. charlie, the worst part of this has to be one of the victims the woman felt sick in the days of prior, went to the clinic, did everything right and not a person that catches this might be something is up with the air conditioning or anything.

how do you make sense of this? >> and then one of the victims a wakes up and is a paralyzing has to scream for help. it is absolutely appalling. and to think about especially after several years were people were not able to go on vacations and as guy points out you are going to celebrate your anniversary, you leave the kids at home you can't think of anything more beautiful and idyllic then thing in a place like this with your wife. and then something like this happens. as guy said it is unspeakable. >> a tammy, if the toxicology results come back it was the air conditioning unit, we have seen other cases like this and the pastor. i am a little surprised because these resorts have gone above and beyond to try to be as safe as a possible especially during covid, the pandemic. i mean, what do you expect? like i said lawsuits galore?

lexis is difficult to save its disk concerning and that we have spent the last two years, as charlie has noted, dealing with the pandemic. what has been drilled into us is the issue of we can do things to keep ourselves safe and people are getting shocked and they're getting covid after following all of the rules pittsburgh mainmast, i got vaccinated. the fact of the matter is this is a reminder that no matter what we do we are biological creatures, things go wrong in life. we do not expect it we cannot live our lives expecting it or anticipating it. this could be almost anything in the dominican republic a few years ago pre-pandemic there were a number of people who died i think ultimately it came back to a local alcohol producer. it's not anything that was deliberate, there was no drugs, nothing like that. there are things that happen to all of us every single day that are inexplicable we do not expect.

i think the answer is especially on this mother's day on a day when people are thinking about churches and their faith as we have learned to these last two years is that we should take nothing for granted. we should still live our lives we can't not live our lives we are all doing with covid this is part of the risk. it is a wonderful gift to be alive. with that comes risk because of the divine gift that it isn't. in the meantime these families clearly are desperate. they will never be the same again. the bahamas are going to have to provide answers that are satisfactory. and of course we have got to make sure the families are good and the solutions they're looking for and that survivor and fact finding out the nature of what ends up ahead for that person. but for all of us it's really about being grateful, being ready for anything and knowing the risk that we embrace every day when we wake up. >> tammy thanks for giving us that perspective. of all the things we complain about on vacation we didn't get

joe biden's. actually that does go to the heart of the problem the white house has in that is jen psaki is right about it. joe biden does talk to the american people pretty much every day and that is the problem he is talking to the american people and people have no idea what he's talking about the problem is that's not the same as having a press conference we are answering questions which is far more importance. the fact he has been out talking so much and he has been trying to sell his administration so much and yet he is still at historic lows in terms of polling. it raises an important question which is what do you do now? i do not know what they do now they need to start by changing their policies but i don't think about is going to happen. one of the real quick point about jen psaki wheat make fun of her, she says things that are not true she wants to circle back on everything.

she is having to defend what is pretty indefensible. but i think we are going to find out is as bad as any jen psaki has been, she is a lot better than what will be coming next may think she's the best person in the administration to defend a pretty indefensible administration because i think that is why she's not staying longer. this is a remarkable job to have. it is been 15/16 months it is indefensible at the same time she is in a position like the president is of pretending things are not what they are. do you think there is going to be a difference between jen psaki and whoever is to come and how long they will last in this white house? >> we will see it's a very demanding position there is burnout here. i do wish jen while at her next venture she's going to become one of our competitors at another network hope it goes well for her. think part of her legacy in this current job is what she has refused to do the last few days

which is condemned the leak out of the supreme court, condemned the intimidation tactics of the justices homes as we talked about the top of the show. but you know what is interesting, tammy put up the graphic we all looked at those numbers in the number of press conferences and people track the stuff how many questions has the president taken, i think sustained questioning and sitdown interviews or press conference settings that matters that is important to the american people to hear from their president and have them challenged directly and not just a quick shout a question they move on but follow-up questions and that sort of thing. i think with this at present might be worthwhile for someone to go back and tabulate something a little bit different which is how many times does the president tell us something and then his staff almost immediately walks it back within minutes or the easter bunny shows up to shuffle him away. that is when one of the features of this presidency. >> charlie you mentioned what happens when he does talk. aishah what are your thoughts here when it comes to their talk

about communication and the disaster that has been over the past 15 months? >> it doesn't matter who is in office who the president republican it doesn't matter the end of the day if you don't engage the press somebody else is going to do it for you. we have seen that over and over again during the semester rations past two years just look at what happens on capitol hill. a variety of different ways for example "build back better" was the president's key legislative push. he came to capitol hill twice to lobby for it. and i think there were missed opportunities that could have been press conferences on the hill he could have picked and chosen different democrats you want to show up and stand next to him during those visits and take a couple of questions and answer a couple of questions from the press. instead what you found were progressives and other democrats who love talking to a camera that basically took the narrative and made it their own with pieces of legislation like that. think at the end of the day if you are not engaged in the

of unarmed african men by police officers. but does not think it is necessarily due to racism. teresa is most likely a democrat, a black woman, a republican, or a democrat leading woman. currently the correct answer here is republican for the district responded saying this was an extreme example, okay fair enough. tammy, here's the thing on all of this. i feel like progressives need to pick one or the other. either they can tell us that crt adjacent racialized curricula are figments of our imagination and they don't exist we are a bunch of hysterical liars, or stuff is necessary and good. they cannot say both they are trying too but here is yet another example of this type of thing in public schools. >> it is and perhaps many are off their medication and they can decide what it is they're going to lie about next. but we think about the left, having come from a major concern for me was mental health issues

and that has only gotten worse as we have been seeing it. one of the things were going to be looking at and realize in the next decade or so is what we allowed to pass for activism that we allowed a mental health to pass for activism and legitimate public discourse because it isn't. this critical race theory is part of it is a cover. it is like the proxy for marxism. that is what this is the ap government body that designed these test for advanced placement they insist they did not put this question in there. the school says they didn't, they are even dismissing it and distancing themselves from it. but somebody got it in there and that's what the parent seem to ask about. we really need to find out how does this happen and who did it because that allows us to find out where this kind of a parasitic dynamic enters into it when it comes to convincing children to be racist for a quick some the stuff is absolutely toxic.

charlie, what i get weary of and fatigued by is the constant gas lighting for this example out of missouri is a high school i was reading last week about a story in washington d.c. involving elementary school kids were there is a program in an elementary school where they brought in a left wing crt style activist where they had the kids confessing to their own racism. kids as young as before, pre-k in this case asking them to talk about which family members in their own family might be racist. it is absolutely wildly inappropriate to do anything close to that and yet, charlie to my previous point there are a lot of people who look as the dead in the eye and tell us this is a conspiracy theory and right wing misinformation the misinformation czar the ministry of truth was quoted last year is saying this is invented by the disinformation crowd i.e. republicans and conservatives.

>> there quite intentionally poisoning our children and then they are lying about it and turning it into a political wedge which makes it even worse. as bad as the poison and the lies that they are putting on our children the real part that upsets me more than anything else there's so much great stuff out there to learn that you could be teaching kids. it would make their lives better. that would make them better citizens. that would make them kinder to one another regardless of their skin tone or whatever else. there are really wonderful things to learn about in this world this world is very, very exciting if you approach it from a safe space standpoint are some triggered micro standpoint you're probably not going to learn much about the world. what i would love to do state kids in those classes and give them a basic and government exam, do they know how many branches of government there are? do they know how often senators get reelected?
