these protests outside their homes for a number of reasons one i just think it's wrong. number two it's not going to be successful they're not going to sway any justice. but number three we spent the last couple of minutes talking about the protest outside of justices homes instead of talking about the content instead of talking about the real threat to roe v wade. and as a supporter of having access to abortion of roe v wade i would much rather be having that conversation than whether or not or where we are protesting. bret: senate democrats try to pass something cap being entitled the codification of roe v wade many people think is far beyond that the world news group have the piece entitled more radical than rest of the proposed law was much more extreme that abortion on demand for any reason and at any point up until birth. the first time in our nation's history schumer's law would have done away with the religious liberty protection for medical

providers who object to performing abortions on religious or conscious ground. it would have also allowed for selective abortions. even pro-choice republicans are joined by joe manchin said they cannot go that far. >> right. i think the senate bill was actually appalling it goes far beyond anything that really approaches just codifying a row. a few senators were asked questions about that on the democratic side and corona who i said let's not get bogged down in the details but the details actually metal quite a lot the details were discussing they're actually quite similar to the bill just recently signed into law by governor your guest earlier in the program he was dancing around your question. the answer was yes unfortunately. but he did not really want to spell that out. he did say this issue, abortion should become numb to the hearts and minds of women not the laws of men. he is eight mail governor who signed a bill into law that according to a new you go the pole flies in the face of 65% of

what american women believe on this question. so, i think you saw these two governors on the program today. different approaches that represent in each case a pretty small segment of the american electorate and public opinion whereas many other people there is a messy middle here on a lot of these issues does not really seem to be getting a lot of attention from some of the loudest voices. shannon: so catherine how does the white house assess this? the presidents upside out on almost every issue repoll on. this democrats say something to rally round for the midterm so they feel like this is it? certainly democrats think this is potentially galvanizing issue they think this motivates women voters, some of the key groups they think are important and some the tough districts in the fall suburban women, they are hoping this will help bring people out and get people energized in an election that's looking very, very challenging for democrats for the president's numbers are really

low. people are frustrated about information they're frustrated about the shortages of baby foreman for example which is a real issue for parents. the question is, how much this does? what i've heard from a lot of analysts and pollsters is democrats in an economic message for the need to bill a talk to be about inflation into bill show their doing things on this. people do think this could help on the margins for. >> to the economy, 710 american so pew research in a poll released this week inflation is a very big problem for the country today. we president is upside down, democrats are upside down these things and people vote with their wallets. she think it is salvageable by the midterm the issue of the economy? >> this is actually fairly messy election season i think. there are so many unknowns that are still coming in. how does roe v wade play into this? how does any number play into this? how does yesterday's tragic shooting in buffaloes and the issues that come with that

change sort of our collective thinking purring having said all of that, inflation is a big problem. it is going to be the number one issue. that's why see the president out there over the past week being much more assertive and aggressive and talking about the issue and trying to number one say here's what democrats in my administration are trying to do and number two increasingly doing contrast with the republicans for increasing drawing a contrast with how senator rick scott tax plan will negatively impact people per. >> republicans -- >> you see them trying to draw a contrast between the two sides. i end up look, they are even beginning to see how they can try to connect the economic argument to issues like roe v wade you brought up some great statistics in your interview with your governor of oklahoma a little while ago. he seemed to be caught a little

flat-footed by some of those. economic impact of some issues. i think you'll see democrats lead into it a lot more they are facing some serious headwind. cooks with a challenge for the white house as they are trying to create a choice for voters say lucas us versus the republican tears or republicans or do they raise taxes. it's typically very, very hard to shift midterm election for what is a referendum. >> especially got this issue of moms who can find formula, charlie. >> also with inflation in particular the white house also denied that was a problem for very long time and tried to pretend it away. the fact they are grasping at something like roe v wade i think also underscores just how desperate they are for an issue how you would rather be talking about roe v wade. i'm on the opposite side of this

issue. if it does in fact get overturned. so people elected legislature can have the arguments. arrive at decisions i found a word she requests the president gave the speech a lot of blame for inflation that pulses are helping not hurting. that's not their perception of anyway thank you very much sue next sunday cap next a final word up ahead. the more information i found, got me more curious. it showed how much my family was really rooted in campbell county.
