top six bucks this summer and stocks getting rocked with new warnings in america, are we headed for a deep recession. and parents still very frustrated that the president waited until yesterday evening to directly deal with the baby formula shortage. the end result to all this only 25% of americans think the country is headed in the right direction. top republican kevin mccarthy says it has to do with a lack of leadership. >> everything this president has touched, he has failed at but he has made america weaker in that process. and we've watched the democrats inside congress and senate mirror those same decisions. >> but the bad headlines and disgrunt lea voters are not stopping some in the media from making this claim. >> you embrace the biden agenda, it's going to get you far. you know, there's a lot to run on here. the economy's doing well. i realize inflation is an issue. the biden administration is trying to address but we have record job growth under this administration. we have jobs that people actually want to be working in

irritating situation. and then no baby formula. we have a lot of people that are very uncomfortable with the waves of immigrants coming across the border unchecked title 42's out in a day or so. so that's going to be on the tv screen. you're going to have people feeling a lot of pain and misery and people are going to be hurting. and i don't see how biden, at this stage of his presidency, is able to deal with that. because he doesn't have any answers rhetorically policy wise. he hasn't lowered gas prices, nothing on inflation, the feds blew it. so what's the plan? he doesn't have a plan and he doesn't have the rhetorical skill set or energy to get out of the hole and the democrats are going to say man you're going into a midterm with things this badly? they're just going to start jumping ship. >> jessica the baby formula crisis to me is sort of, it pulls all of it together in one issue that you could see, i

their ability, we talked down to the kids who are the slowest. those kids deserve to be taught but we haven't done the other kids justice. so parents set up for a really long time and now you're going to bring section into the classroom, not gender but sex into the classroom. now you're going to do all the things that parents are taking exception with. i talked to a friend of my and his job at a county school is to spend money lightly. he said they spent money on hiring new staff to make up for learning loss over the last year, so they need more staff in these schools, they spent it on hvac repairs probably because of circulation and they spent it on technology because technology came so far so quickly. so if that little school district in georgia can do it, what i want to know is why can't these others, why isn't the money getting spent. as far as more than a million kids getting taken out of school that's because parents have had this gripe for a long time and covid forced them how to do it without the school. and it's a shame. kids deserve to be in public school, you need to go to school with kids of different means, of

different backgrounds to learn how to commune indicate and be a member of your community. i'm a fan of kids in school, just not a fan of the school we're putting kids in. >> jessica: katie? >> katie: the pandemic allowed rich wealthy parents to take their kids out of public schools, home schooling on zoom and put them into open private or charter schools. that was not good for them. that's one issue the public schools losing millions of students to that issue. but the crisis that people aren't really talking about because you can't see it is kids who never got put back into school at all. if you talk to teachers who were teaching on zoom during the pandemic, a lot of kids didn't show up anymore. they stopped going to school all together. they weren't at home learning on line and now the schools are reopened, they can't find those kids. there are thousands of them who are missing. what happened to them? what are they doing? and not talking about high school kids who maybe didn't finish their education and graduate and went on to work somewhere. we're talking about little kids in elementary school and middle school and they're missing from
